Honestly, Gillen's self-satisfied writing makes me nauseous, J Hickman he is not.

The best hero comics to read are the ones made by people who value the legacy of these characters, and Ewing clearly reveres them.

And now it's time for something entirely different.

Restore the Hickmanverse...

Classic issue.

A fun experiment, would love to see more of this type of creativity and collaboration for these iconic characters.

This is obviously beautiful, and maybe it's just me, but I have a tough time following stories with no words at all. I love the art and story but there are too many ambiguous interpretations (and occasionally scenes) for me to get a clear read on it yet.

It's a perfect comic and a concept I have long since thought would thrive (revisiting DC's Silver Age).

Mignola and his carte blanche partnership with Dark Horse produces this pulpy and fun nod to Silver Age space heroes (Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon etc) but in the end will it really matter?

A step down in the art department from previous issues, but the story is still strong.

New Avengers v Marvel's Justice Society with stand-ins for Batman and Superman and it's as great as it sounds.

Lee Weeks stuff is gold and Stern follows up on a storyline he wrote almost 30 years earlier.

Apparently underrated.

Hickman reaches back and ties this one to his Fantastic Four run on the way to the build up for Secret Wars.

Unfettered super powered entertainment.

Not sure I have EVER read an issue #1 this strong (second time through). Having already read through "Infinity", I wanted to come back through these early issues and look for the brilliant setups and I was not disappointed. Hickman is indeed one of the most gifted architects of his generation.
