You Don't Read Comics - Gage Bullock

    Feb 28, 2018

This issue not only delivers on just being an origin it also sets up Cosmic Ghost Riders upsoming solo series and does way more world building than I ever expected. So much goes on in this issue that under a lesser writer it could come off rushed and chaotic yet Cates handled this issue with such grace and you can tell him,Shaw, and Fabela are having a blast pouring their love into this story. Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson

Thanos continues to be a fantastic series and the praise it is getting is well-deserved. Cates' writing is top-notch and the combination of Geoff Shaw and Antonio Fabela delivers some awe-inspiring art. Thanos #16 delivers bombastic action, laugh-out-loud comedy and some good introspective character study. This is the best book Marvel Comics is putting out right now and is one of the best comic books out right now period. The creative team is firing on all cylinders and it does not seem like they are letting up anytime soon! Read Full Review

Thanos #16 is a fantastic read. Action, dry gallows humor, abstract sci-fi concepts, and utter ruthlessness come together for an enthralling narrative bolstered by great artwork from Shaw and Fabela. This one is definitely recommended. Give it a read. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Chaston

    Mar 09, 2018

Thanos Wins is perhaps the most unique story going right now. In retrospect, you know you're not reading the book of a protagonist. And yet you can't help but cheer for Thanos in certain ways. Donny Cates is bringing his "A" game in order to give you a Thanos, unlike anything you've ever read about the Mad Titan. This is amazing storytelling and art from top to bottom. Thanos definitely is winning here! Read Full Review

THANOS #16 is a fun romp that tells the origin of the alternate reality Ghost Rider version of Frank Castle. It's filled with humorous dialogue and gags. Writer Donny Cates made this one of the most memorable issues I've read in a while. Artists Geoff Shaw and Antonio Fabela helped make it a hilarious book. Read Full Review

This story is still going strong. We finally have the origin of the Ghost Rider, which is actually really interesting, and we saw the fight between the Thanoses and The Fallen One. While the fight isn't over, I feel like this first part was pretty short; I wish it was longer. But that final panel, though. Marvel really has me fucked all the way up with this Thanos run. It's mad like the Titan. Still 10/10.

Straight up one of the best Marvel comics I have ever read. It is epic. It is funny. It is expanding what we know about the Marvel Universe. All this with great art, both character and splash pages are incredible to look at. Oh and do you like it when a character is introduced with their sweet logo on the page? Then prepare to be a very happy comic reader. Seriously this comic rules.

This is without a shadow of a doubt best book marvel has going for it. that's pretty much my review. Donny Cates has really elevated the titles that he has taken over for marvel to the next level and paired with phenomenal artists like geoffrey shaw and ryan stegmann has me itching to read anything he puts out. I think that Donny has a better idea of how the minds of these Marvel bad guys work than anyone else writing comics right now.

Wow! Donny Cates really knows how to end his issues, am i right? Again leaving us with a "HOLY SHIT! WTF!" reaction on our faces. This issue also made this version of the ghost rider my favourite one. Great respect to Johnny Blaze and Robbie Reyes. But Cosmic Ghost rider is just the one for me. His origins story is believable. I understood why he behaves like that. In some pages, the artwork is just too amazing for my eyes to see, especially the one featuring Galactus and Mephisto. Bigggg credit to Geoff Shaw! As always, along with Kelly Thompson, Donny Cates is now one of my favourite Marvel Comics writer. Keep it up man! #THIS IS HOW MARVEL COMICS SHOULD BE AND FEEL LIKE!

I'm not going to lie; I'm more a DC guy. Lately, I've been trying my best to get caught up with Marvel since Legacy has happened. My point: this BOOK, not just this issue, this BOOK, is freakin' amazing! This story is imaginative, so dang creative, and leaves you wanting more. This writing, especially since issue 13, has been great. Don't get me wrong, I've now read all issues of this series and they are all pretty dang good! But, let's recap: Thanos is pulled to the future by the Cosmic Ghost Rider who is commanded by future Thanos himself. Thanos has literally laid waste to almost everything. The "boy", as young Thanos is called, was drug there by the COSMIC FREAKIN' GHOST RIDER! Which we find out is Frank freakin' Castle... who more

I was sold on Donny Cates' run within the first few pages of issue 13 after Thanos conquers the Chitauri. This creative team hasn't taken their foot off the gas since. The series is just a ton of fun and the back story to the Cosmic Rider is a blast. I'm glad to see so many of these issues going to 2nd and 3rd printing, and i'd like to think it has so much more to do with Cates and Shaw than the Infinity War movie. I may actually have to buy a Venom comic (shudders) with Cates writing it.

It was a good read with great art, but my only gripe would be how easily Frank started to work with Thanos. Other than that it was a good story.

Before we get down to the brass tacks of Surfer vs. Thanoses Round One, the creators treat us to a delightful dose of Cosmic Ghost Rider backstory. It's not revelatory but it is a blast. The cliffhanger, with Surfer showing off a hell of a gamechanger for Round Two, is both awesome AND shocking. This issue brings the story back to its core principle: The pure comics equivalent of bitching heavy metal guitar solos. Rock on!
