Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten. This is some creative Waid writing. I am loving this arc, as well as the last, and I'm pumped to see what happens next. At the end of last issue, Waid threw a curve ball at us unleashing the Red Skull, who was trapped in the Cosmic cube for many years. Everyone thought we'd get Cap back to help bring down the secret Kree sleeper soldier program. Turns out, we got the opposite. So, I just assumed that we'd open this issue with Cap jumping out of the Cosmic Cube right after Skull. But, boy was I wrong. That is not the issue we got at all! This issue was a tota more

Jack is either completely helpless or a cunning schemer as the Red Skull breaks open the secret of Kree infiltration on Earth. Alan Davis illustrating the flashback to the Cap's Kooky Quartet era of the Avengers is a high point, and in the future setting, the story just managed to engage my curiosity. I'm thinking/hoping there's a huge twist coming and I can't wait to see it.

I actually kind of like this story unlike some of the others on here. The only gripe I really have is that if Captain America doesn't return in the next/last issue, this whole thing to me is kind of pointless than. Who wants to read a Cap book with no cap? I've been a fan of Romero's art since Hawkeye so I'm pleased as well on that front.

I have been enjoying this arc, but this issue fell a little flat for me. I did really enjoy seeing Alan Davis' pencils for 5 or so pages, a really great scene which reminded me of Neal Adams' art. I'm also digging Romero here, but I think I'm almost ready for the Cap relaunch. I don't object to this Cap-free arc, but this one felt a bit like filler.

I honestly don't get what's was the idea with this. Second time we go back to the future, and this time without Cap even being there. Feels like they ran out of ideas and this is all just filler material waiting for Coates' run to start. Which is probably the case.

Series has gone from bad to worse. Bring on the next team....and hurry it up! This crap is painfull. Destined for the 50¢ box that gets set outside the front door on Saturday's.
