Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles

Shazam is a terrific example of the importance of comics just being fun. There's no need for them to be so gloomy. This title is at its brightest the more it stands apart from the majority of comics on the stands. And with this cliffhanger, the fun is only just starting. Read Full Review

This wonderful six-issue Shazam! story has been capped off in a great way, and the story it sets up couldn't be more interesting. Waid and Mora have caught my attention in a big way with this issue and this series, and I can't wait to see where they take us next. Read Full Review

Despite a couple very minor nitpicks, this climactic issue very effectively manages to instill a feeling that everything the creators set out to do with this story was done right, and with a voice that says they're only just getting started. Read Full Review

Shazam! #6 is wall-to-wall fun, adventure, and excitement when the Batson family faces off against Zeus and the Pantheon of Gods. Waid's script is a near-perfect blend of Silver Age imagination and modern polish, and Mora's art is some of the best in any DC comic. Read Full Review

Ah, lovely! Waid (And Mora) are elegantly restoring Cap to what makes him special and unique. While the "Shazamily" was a fun diversion for a moment, it was in no way sustainable and the new roles (?) for the family look more interesting, whether they stick or not. Cap has never seemed more Cap in a loonnnngggg time. Hooray! Glad Johns is on to other things (turning his Killing Zone line into Ghost Machine, turning DC characters into barely-disguised other versions of themselves...Geiger = Atomic Knights; Junkyard Joe = GI Robot, etc. etc....best quote I've heard in a while: "reading a comic by Geoff Johns is like reading a comic by someone who's never read anything other than comic books in his life":)

Once again I burst out laughing at the insanity of the issue. The kids beating up the gods with their trinkets and the Dion auditor joining in is great. The ending was also hilarious. Darn Dino Bureaucracy! It must also be said that Waids use of Solomon was well done. Identifying that not all of Billys powers are from Gods and how that might effect how they do things/what they do and how Billy took advantage of that was great. Art is amazing. This is an all ages book that is one of the best DC has to offer. You will not regret it at all.

Mark Waid is on complete fire right now. I like the story and why Shazam has been acting crazy, but Dan Mora art is sublime and beautiful.

Another relatively stronger issue for the series here. I feel very similarly with this issue to how I felt with the previous one. Mora continues to put out very nice art and Waid does a nice job of balancing different tones. Speaking of Waid, I should have known that Freddy wasn't up to anything "bad" and/or "evil" at the end of the previous issue.

is the person in charge of this site drunk? Major Spoilers rated this issue at 77%, how the hell can that be translated here to a 1 out of 10?
