Gail Simone continues her reign of terror on the X-Men books. This issue, like all the others in this “Where the Monsters Dwell " story, is particularly terrible. Whether it's the dialogue of Gambit and Rogue, the bumbling villains like Lady Darkhold who are dispatched like something out of Scooby-Doo, or the dragon at the end...this book offers so much to offend X-Men fans. The art is also som ething to behold. Luciano must have been rushed or simply not given a damn due to the page rate. Many of the people have no faces even drawn on them. When the art switches to David Massina, it's equally as bad and very jarring.
I look at this issue only 1 way: this story arc is a mess, it's dumb, and it’s $5.99. Get the hell out of town! Fire Gail Simone. Someone please save the X-Men ! more

I had fun with some of the monster art but the story and generic heavy handed dialogue are continually losing me. A lot of the character beats just feel redundant and heavy handed. I feel this series is making Gambit less interesting and I care less for the young mutants more and more each issue where I found them interesting at first. The back up just magnified my apathy.

Massive exposition dumps abound and flashbacks. Boring generic villain. More Glob. I almost fell asleep 1/2 through the issue. It’s so low tier mid but at least the art remains high quality with Diaz fighting for his life to make this script enticing.

Adams is starting to spin his wheels, and without Xermanico, the art is sort of warmed over.

So glad this series finally seems to have settled into a focused story and characters lately as Mora's art is just far to incredible to waste on average stories.

Fun read and Y2K's origin was hilarious but I'm worried the series will quickly start to lose appeal if Adams doesn't start to focus on a meaningful plot soon.

This issue was so much fun and surprised me at how much was crammed into the issue as it was such a breezey read. North is killing it!

Prime,Superboy prime whatever you want to call him , I’ll just call him the best Superman right now. Don’t get me wrong I love Clark but this comic is so fun to read each month. Everything about it is just what I want in a comic. Action , some comedy. Interesting characters. The art is fantastic and Dan Mora looks like he’s having fun drawing these panels as well. Bravo to this team. The plot i s basic as can be and I don’t even care because it fits into how lighthearted this book is. Buy it. Give us a Prime Solo series just like this. I’d buy that also. more

I usually despise the whole “breaking the fourth wall” trope. I think Deadpool is a boring characters. Except for animal man, the meta thing is not really for me. Nevertheless, I love the prime centers Superman run. It’s unabashedly fun. I love the time tiny sprinkles of mata commentary: “why am i dressed like a vertigo character?” Or “don’t worry, it is just demons, Ana from legal”. I hope prime stays a while in the book. more

Sorry, but this is so much fun. REALLY fun. Hopefully, in the next issue, Prime will be confronted with his sins for real, without anyone interfering.

It's such a fun adventure, and well-drawn. I like that JW is using some long-forgotten secondary characters in this arc, which makes everything even better. For me, the best issue of the arc so far.

I had so much fun with this issue and the art is out of this world! Williamson and Mora have something really special going on here and Williamson's Superman run will go down as one of the all time greats (and he's very hit or miss for me).

I usually save 9.5's for a story with huge emotional weight, but this issue was so exciting and fun along with beyond perfect art that I couldn't go lower.more
