This book also has a nice backup story written by Sean Lewis and illustrated by Sami Basri. This story features the Guardian and it shows how things might be headed for the Future State. All in all, this is a great issue. Read Full Review

Maybe I just need to roll with it? But this is a big roll. But in the end, that is a minor head scratch. The rest of this issue is just a perfect ending to the Thao-La story and the perfect prologue for the Warworld arc. This shows us just who Superman is. He fights for the helpless. He takes a stand. He loves his family.  Read Full Review

Altogether, a fantastic issue with a powerful and affecting lead and the intriguing opening to a new backup storyline. This is just what Ive come to expect from Action Comics, which has been fantastic every month since this run began. If you arent following Superman books right now, my friends, you should probably correct that as soon as possible. Im just saying. Read Full Review

Action Comics #1035 is a fitting end to "Warworld Rising", wrapping up Superman's final hours on Earth. Superman interacts with a number of characters as if he's saying goodbye for good, each of which feels true to the characters and genuine. Add in a fun backup with a wacky villain and you have yourself a great comic filled with action and adventure. Read Full Review

DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd

Johnson and Sampere deliver a heartfelt issue that continues to build on the Lost Kryptonians storyline. The character work is outstanding and is truly making Action Comics a great title. It's not hard to relate to Lois and Clark's situation, even if the particulars are otherworldly, plus the Moses analog adds another dimension to Superman's story. While Jon holds things back a bit, he's not in the way to drag things down too much. Coupled with the potential in the second feature, Action Comics #1035 is another great issue. Read Full Review

Still sad to see Clark being sidelined so much, but happy it was done so well. Comics is usually about the illusion of change, and I know Clark will be front and centre at some point in the future. For now, this is now Jon Kent's job, so let's give him a chance. Read Full Review

    The Comicbook Dispatch - ozwoods

Actions Comics #1035 concludes the first step into Superman's Warworld saga. It is what it says on the cover, this is Superman wrapping up things from the previous arc and saying farewell to everyone before leaving for Warworld. Not everything is resolved as well as they should've been, but the send-offs with his family felt the most earnest and a little heartbreaking. The art team in the main story continue to deliver excellent art for Superman, Mongul, and the rest of the other characters. Hopefully things turn out better for Superman this time than they did in the Future State story. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Eric Shea

This is a bit of a down issue as far as progression is concerned, even though we're essentially moving forward completely here. It just feels like out of nowhere we're going to Warworld and because of that we have to have some sweet tender moments, which I really appreciate, I just wish the rest of the story felt like it came together in a way that felt right with the pacing of this arc so far. I loved the art throughout but don't know why this series needs a backup that doesn't do anything. Read Full Review

An issue in transition. You would be best skipping this comic and moving onto the next storyline. Superman's farewell was better handled in Tom Taylor's book, and Johnson just needs to get Superman to WarWorld for his ideas to finally come to life. Read Full Review

In my opinion, this was a perfect issue! Sampere's art is stunning, and Johnson definitely knows what he's wanna do with AC. Loved it from the start to the end.

Super hyped for where PKJ is taking this book; shaking up the status quo in a really fun way. I hope they have some sort of connection between this and Morrison's SATA that can transition well into the Warworld Saga. I haven't been this excited for the Super-Line since Rebirth!

I have no idea which is the real timeline, especially since elements just seem to jump around. Grant Morrison's the Authority shows up, Tom Taylor's run has Superman leaving for a different reason. But it feels on point when it comes to Superman's actions in this run, and taking on the source of a problem before it grows out of control. Just wish somewhere down the line things make some sort of sense.

Eh. This was pretty good, but I have kind of disinterest in this whole plot line. I wish we focused more on the political stuff that kept the superfamily busy this whole arc. It's just so much more interesting than Warworld. The backup was fine but I'm really sick of these backups altogether. It's just a waste of time and money.

For the last 4 issues I have rated AC pretty high because despite seeing where it was leading to, I enjoyed it. This time, I didn't. Sure, Sampere's art continues to be great. But Superman thrown out of the League after last issue? Yeah, sure, I don't buy that, not for one second. You can tell that editorial just wanted Clark out of the way for Taylor's stupid Jon Superman miniseries and PKJ came up with the flimsiest of reasons why Clark would be thrown out of the League. This isn't a story that flows naturally, this is a story mandated by DC editorial, aka Clark must be replaced with Jon because 5G and it shows. For the people that hate the past and love replacing all our heroes this will be great, for most people it won't.

The backup story was actually better than the main one. It was good to see Guardian again. I've noticed how they're trying in these backup stories to bring back old school characters, but I just don't think they're given the potential they deserve. There used to be more to a lot of them. Now they're minor supporting characters. As for the main story, I'll say it was better than most issues on Johnson's so far disappointing run. But it was far from good. All he's reduced one of the longest lasting comics ever into is an excuse to push the hero everyone reads these books to see in favor of his son. And what's worse is when people state they don't like that the P.C. Police come along and claim it's because you're not onboard with their forci more

I'm not a great reader of Superman, but... What the??? I hated it, the subject is sad, I have no problem with that, but there is no more logic than to force an exit from the first SUPERHERO of the comics, I clarify again I AM NOT A FAN of the super, I like Damian's toxic dad much more ( like Jon says, it just changes it to creepy). This is DC's big problem, always running around like a paranoid, they don't take the time at all, everything is express and they want quick profits. Anyway, it's a shame this when they could please everyone instead of forcing characters that I really don't know who is consuming them.

This is crap. Honestly, they relegate Superman to a guest star in his own title and expect people to care. Sales don't lie folks. Save your money.
