A really great issue of Action Comics that people need to read. It is a fun take on how the public sees Superman. Even though this isn't a new storytelling trick, it is still a great read. It is also nice to finally move on from the Leviathan story and give Action Comics a place of its own. This is a fairly good sign of things to come.

Action Comics this week is one hell of a drag. Sure a lot happens in it, but none of it seems to matter. Maybe you'd be better off picking up "Superman" that seems to be the real focus lately. If you didn't care about Leviathan, and The Year of the Villain has become tiring, just use your money towards something else at your LCS this week.

Action Comics is a sum of many parts, and it is not always better for it. There are many events and story lines touched on in this title, and they aren't all lining up correctly. Often this series seems like it has too many irons in the fire and would benefit from focus.

This issue is pretty fun, as Young Justice breaths some life into this stale story. Superboy and Superman finally meet in a bittersweet teamup that will make you happy to see them together again, but upset at the loss of history. Things also come full circle here as this part finally ties things back to what was foreshadowed at the start of the arc.

Actions Comics finally ends a weak arc. While, Young Justice brought some agency and levity to the story it was not enough to save it. It does end on a higher note than every other issue in the story, but that is not saying much. Hopefully Action Comics can gain some new footing after this.

If you are a fan of Conner Kent than this is the comic for you. How he will fit into the new DC Universe seems to be starting to come together. Action Comics has been a dense title dragged down by its connection to Leviathan, but it is finally finding some clarity. This Superboy arc seems like it will be an important piece of continuity.

This seems to be singling the end of Brian Michael Bendis's run on Action Comics. If you have been following along since the start there are call backs to basically every aspect, going back to Action Comics #1001. However, the mess already made on this title is hard to overcome.

This issue is a great snapshot of Bendis' Superman work so far. It is equal parts brilliant and confusing. For every great moment there is another choice made that is baffling. In no way is this a bad book, but it isn't great either. Like most Superman books lately, it seems to be on the cusp of being great, and then held back by strange storytelling (and art) choices. But if you want to see how Bendis' run on Action Comics wraps up, this will signal some ideas of his conclusion.

Action Comics continues to drag in quality, as both the writing and art suffer from significant drops in quality. Brian Michael Bendis over writes every single panel, with long winded exposition and incredibly dry dialogue. JRJR creates a fight scene that is hard to read and is one of the biggest messes. It is time that Superman gets a new team and a new focus.

This new run on Superman has a lot of promise. It is able to juggle things like mystery and action, while not becoming so heavy that it holds the title down. Superman is a fun and interesting comic again, thanks to the new team that seems to really grasp the character.

Philip Kennedy Johnson reintroduces the readers to Action Comics, and what the comic will focus on from here. So far it all seems very promising, and it is a great time to add Action Comics to your pull list.

Actions Comics is starting to form its new identity. The creative team here is carving a new status quo for Superman, and the hook is intriguing. It will be interesting to see how Action Comics and Superman become two wildly different titles.

Philip Kennedy Johnson creates one of the best issues of Action Comics in a long time. There are three interesting plotlines here, and each one could be their own entire arc. Somehow the team here weaves them all together in a fast paced and excited book.

While Superman has a new lead character, Action Comics continues the adventures of Kal El as he deals with the fallout of Warworld. This is a worthwhile comic to pick up, as the entire Superman line of comics has not been this intriguing in a long time.

An issue in transition. You would be best skipping this comic and moving onto the next storyline. Superman's farewell was better handled in Tom Taylor's book, and Johnson just needs to get Superman to WarWorld for his ideas to finally come to life.

Good art, but a disappointing wrap-up to a disappointing story that serves as a disappointing end to the Boomerang story arc, and I'm unsure about where this story is going anymore.

Even if you hate Tom King's Batman, you need to read this book. This comic is the shows the perfect understanding of Batman as a character. Batman fans would be remiss to miss out on this comic.

This crossover is both easily skippable, and an essential read. It's like a fun side story that gives you a bit more on a larger narrative, but if you miss it you will most likely still be caught up. If a fill-in team is needed this might be one of the better ways to handle it.

Knightmares continues, and unlike many arcs in comics, I really don't want this to stop. I could probably read a series of one-shots done by King and a rotating art team, all looking at a different aspect of Batman, forever.

Tom King's Batman will go down as an important run for the character. This Knightmare arc should be pointed at as to why he really gets the character. This is an essential purchase either in issues or in trade, and I can't wait to see where the run goes next.

Another great Batman book that is again hampered by having too many teams. Is it too much to ask for a singular vision in one 20 page book? Other than that, this is a perfectly written conclusion to a unique arc. This Batman book has been one if the DC titles to look out for and the recent Eisner nomination, for Tom King's work on this series, is well deserved.

For people finding the previous issues too cluttered, this issue is much slower pace. The storytelling here is top notch and where it is possibly going next is very exciting. Entering the final stretch of Tom King's Batman run has been a fascinating read. This is easily the best issue of The Fall and the Fallen arc so far

The City of Bane continues to be an intriguing arc for Batman. The actual "City of Bane" part of the book is cool and fun. However, the other half of the book about Bruce Wayne sitting around hoping to get back to Gotham doesn't match the excitement the arc needs. Hopefully the momentum in the second plot will eventually build up enough steam to make it all come together.

The most skippable comic in Tom King's Batman run. There is nothing new or interesting going on here. If you enjoy Clay Mann art it may be worth the pick up, but that is about all there is to see here. A mostly boring retread through the Batman and Catwoman romance.

A great issue of Batman all around. If you like Tom King Batman, this is some of the best. City of Bane is a really interesting arc, and it seems to be heading toward something truly great. Seeing this is the final stretch of King's run, it is one hell of a way to go out.

Tom King's Batman run continues to fire on all cylinders, near the end. There is some great moments with Batman and Catwoman here, and readers finally get some resolution to the City of Bane. The last three issues are going to pack one hell of a punch, if it continues this way.

Tom King's Batman has only 2 more issues (not including this one). Somehow he finds new twists and turns, where most writers would be handling the resolution. His story is barreling to the finish line and it will be impossible for it to stop without some drastic changes in the end. These last few issues need to be read.

City of Bane will end very shortly, and Thomas Wayne's entire origin and motivations are now clear. While his reasoning for wanting to stop Bruce Wayne are sound, the methods he uses are suspect. Overall this is an interesting issue that is a fun read and overcomes its faults through its interactive nature.

You know if you are already going to like this title. No one will become Tom King's biggest fan after reading the conclusion, but if you enjoyed the story so far he sticks the landing. For my money, Batman will be a lesser title without his influence.

Batman #107 is a high-intensity, drama-filled story that keeps the reader wanting more. I'm very excited to see how the story plays out and how Scarecrow and the Unsanity Collective's plans for Gotham interact with each other. Be sure to check out this issue on Tuesday, April 6, 2021!

A charming story that feels like the calm before the storm with gorgeous art to boot. I have no doubts things are only going to keep getting better.

If you are already into Doomsday Clock, you will be satisfied with this issue. If you have been upset with the slow moving nature of the story and long wait between issues, now is the time for catching up. The last page of this comic will make you excited for what is to come.

A great Superman story, that reads well on its own apart from the series. If you have not been reading Doomsday Clock, you could still pick this up and understand what is happening. It may even entice you to backtrack and see what came before. I am loving this series, and Geoff Johns and Gary Frank are pulling off the impossible, a sequel to Watchmen worth reading.

Doomsday Clock continues to silently be one of the best titles that DC puts out. Sadly, issues come out so few and far between that it is hard to keep readers engaged. However, I am hopeful that after the collection, and threads can finally have an impact on the DC universe as a whole, people will re-examine this fantastic book.

The Penultimate issue finally hits the stands and lands with more exposition than anything substantial. If this was the second last chapter in a trade it would flow nicely with the book, but as a single issue, and one with massive delays on either end, it is harder to enjoy. Doomsday Clock will be a worthwhile story someday.

Watchmen just wrapped up on HBO. Maybe, check out that instead. It is a far more relevant and impactful sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons seminal work.

Green Lantern Black Stars is an incredible comic. It is almost unfair to other books on the shelf this week, as I am unsure anything else can stand up to the perfection created here.

This is a perfect comic. It is my pick of the year for 2019. Allowing Grant Morrison to run free in the Green Lantern universe was the best idea DC has had in a long time. This comic builds the mythos in some new and interesting ways, but also has the trademark postmodernism that Morrison is known for.

The interlude between The Green Lantern seasons comes to an end. While this issue is not as heavy as the previous two it is still a really fun read. Green Lantern Blackstars, ended up being the best mini series that DC put on the stands.

An annual to a comic featuring no one from the comic, and tying into events that have not been published yet. Despite the mess of the way this book is handled there is some worthwhile material here. If you are a new Guardians reader you may be confused on why the characters in this book matter, but I bet you will still find something to enjoy. If you are familiar with Marvel Cosmic there may be more in here for you. Personally, I feel this comic is worth picking up for Tini Howard's section alone.

Guardians of the Galaxy is one of Marvel's best series now. A great book that is perfectly fine for new readers to pick up. While there are some moments I feel left in the dark, everything essential is clear. A complex story that is dealt with fairly expertly here.

The new Guardians of the Galaxy series has been a delight so far. In three short issues the stakes are clear, and this is a gripping arc. The only problem is may of the side characters have been left to the wayside and are completely undeveloped. I hope that eventually there will be a reason to care about everyone in this book.

Guardians has been a great new pick for me. With zero knowledge of the cosmic universe I am still getting a lot out of this book. While at times I feel in the dark, none of those moments actually harm my understanding of what is going on. With only four issues in, this series is great for new and old readers alike

This first arc in Guardians of the Galaxy has been a lot of fun. Now that we are nearing the end of it I am exciting to see how it wraps up and what comes next. My only lingering issue is that there are still aspects of the characters here that are obscured for new readers. They are generally minor but there is very little reason to care for them which does hurt this as a team book.

Thanos' Return arc comes to a close here. Sadly, the story here ends abruptly, even though it is action focused. Regardless, the team here has set up something that still leaves the reader ready for more, even if this comic was underwhelming.

Guardians of the Galaxy finally answers the question of where Rocket Racoon went. The answer is as satisfying and emotionally impactful as anyone could have ever hoped for.

Cory Smith continues to bring life to this book. I may have found the story light but Smith put so much life into what little he had.

The Guardians of the Galaxy, and their new title, is almost at an end. Thankfully, this comic has moved from strength to strength as each arc has been better than the last. Rocket Racoon's reintroduction into the series has been the biggest point of joy and sorrow and it is impossible not to want to see how this plays out.

This might end up being an amazing event we all look back on fondly. However, this first issue will be upsetting to many people. Personally I think it sold itself quite well, and I am invested in reading more. I need to see how this plays out. A "Crisis" comic has to be controversial to earn its title.

The stakes have been raised, without killing another character. This issue focuses on the mystery, and it is stronger for it. While I had to recommend the last issue with a big caveat, this is no longer the case. Tom King is known to be able to craft amazing stories, and I feel like this issue signifies he will bring that craft over to "event comics."

This is a strong issue of Heroes in Crisis. But its strength is also its weakness. This is a story of two Tom Kings. One that has is creating an interesting take on Sanctuary and backstory, and another who is hampered with a slow moving mystery. Issues like this only highlight the amazing potential of what this series could have been. As it stands this is a peak in a sadly uneven event. I truly hope the last 3 issues take the revelations and character development created here and move with them.

If you are a fan of horror, the characters in this book, military/war themes, or want a nice 1950s comic throw back you should pick up this book. You don't need any prior knowledge before reading this fun tale.

This is what an annual should be, an extension of the current comic but turned up to 11. In many ways it feels like a great season finale, but luckily we don't have to wait long for the next issue. Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV are creating a Justice League run for the ages.

An interesting sidebar into the origins of the DC Universe. This is a dense comic that will not have you at the edge of your seat, but will fill in some much needed blanks in the Justice League's run. Not all choices seem to benefit the new status quo, but overall this comic shows one step back and a few steps forward. There is more to like here than not.

This issue will most likely read a bit better in trades, where the fuller story comes together. At the time being this issue is worth picking up for the Batman Who Laughs alone. Some great questions posed here that will hopefully have some great payoff down the line.

Your mileage may vary with this title. If you want more characterization this issue will not disappoint. If you are looking forward to the next arc, and finding out more of the mysteries presented in the series, then this issue might not be for you.

If you are really into Aquaman, you might like this issue more than I did. I admit that the general concept is fun, but the execution seems fragmented in this new crossover event. This would have been better focused in Justice League alone, or Aquaman alone. Hopefully something comes of this story, more than the obvious editorial mandate to catch on the Aquaman train while it is hot.

This storyline is aggressively mediocre. The concept is solid but the execution is lacking. Maybe if this was streamlined into Aquaman or Justice League ONLY, it could have been a fun 3-4 issue arc. As it stands it is bloated and putting the momentum of Justice League to a halt. Feel free to skip these issues, unless you want to look at the beautiful artwork.

This issue turned me around on Drowned Earth. A feat I thought impossible. I had been enjoying the overall story beats but felt everything lacked focus. This issue has far more focus. It loses some of that cohesion in the artistic direction, but overall a really great issue. A must-read for fans of the crossover or Justice League in general.

Justice League jumps right into another arc. This time everything revolves around Thanagar prime and Hawkgirl. It is great to see what Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, and John Stewart have been up to since we last left them. Part one will have most people interested to see what comes next.

After coming from the very disappointing Drowned Earth, the team here hits the ground running. Already two issues into this arc, and it is becoming a must read. The ability to pull off a story centered around the continuity of Hawkman is an amazing feat. Snyder and Tynion IV are building toward something special here and you should not miss it.

The arc on Thanagar Prime was densely packed but did not overstay its welcome. A great little arc that delivered more meaningful storytelling than the drawn out and clumsy "Drowned Earth." It is clear that Justice League is back on track and feels like an "event book" again. While the far reaches of the storytelling may be a lot for some to handle, and the retcons fairly substantial, overall this comic is a lynchpin in DC's lineup and a must-read for anyone who has a DC comic on their pull list.

A must read for anyone keeping up with Justice League or anyone that is into Martian Manhunter as a character. Scott Snyder is no longer wasting time with this comic as he was doing before and during Drowned Earth. The payoffs and answers to mysteries found in this book are griping. However, I would like them to find a singular artistic team for at least one issue.

This issue is a fairly essential read for the Justice League series as a whole. A lot is learned in the pages of this comic, and Lex Luthor continues to become a very interesting character here. The only thing holding it back is the art that can make this comic seem boring at times.

Another start to another great arc in another great Justice League run. I am certain that people will be talking about this Justice League series in the same way people hold up Grant Morrison's JLA run. I can't wait to read more from Snyder and see more from Jorge Jimenez. This is a must read for anyone interested in the DC universe.

Justice League continues into the best arc yet. While the series has had some misses, it is picking up steam here. Without a doubt this is a DC comic you should be reading, and Scott Snyder and Jorge Jimenez are putting out one of the best books on the stands today. The Sixth Dimension has been fascinating so far and I can't wait to see what happens next.

After watching Avengers Endgame this week, the Justice League comic is quietly putting out their own inadvertent reaction to it. It is every bit as time bending, fan servicey, and exciting as that film. If you are interested in the DC Universe at all you need to be reading this book.

This event is continuously impressing me. I feel like it is more of a "Crisis" level DC comic than anything else on the stands right now. Justice League is one of the must buy books if you are into DC.

This week's Justice League is a great comic to pick up. Everything you need to know that is to come on the title is contained here. While this is a stop gap in the story so far, it does not completely go without moments of intrigue. In particular, if you are a Martian Manhunter fan this comic shows an understanding of the character that few have hit.

A great jumping on point for new readers. With Doom War starting now there is no better time to become invested in the series. While this issue has a lot to recap it still sets the stakes for things to come.

This issue has been long awaited by fans. The JSA has returned and the first hints to why they were gone start to become clear. The Justice/Doom War is shaping up to be one excited arc and something readers of the DC Universe shouldn't miss.

The Justice/Doom War is on its fourth part. While there are many exciting things happening in this comic, somehow it reads drier than expected. While it is a good comic overall, there are higher expectations when it comes to the team handling this title and what they have pulled off before.

A good Justice League book with inconsistent art. At times this comic looks great, and other times it is down right ugly. Thankfully, Tynion IV and Snyder save it with their writing, and The Justice/Doom War seems to be going in some interesting places.

The Justice/Doom War continues. This issue is a bit of a stop gap that allows the League to catch their breath, as The Legion of Doom destroys an entire universe. At the end of this book you will wonder how The Justice League will get out of this one.

Scott Snyder's final arc is coming to an end. Thankfully, it seems he is going out on a high note. While the Justice/Doom War has not always been strong, it is better than ever. People will be excited to see how this finally plays out.

Justice League #40 hits this week, and you could consider it a new #1. The creative team here takes the title in a new direction and focus, afforded by the clean slate that Scott Snyder left the book with. The Justice League is in good hands with Robert Venditti and Doug Mahnke.

Venditti's Justice League is hitting the ground running. When the torch was passed he did not miss a beat, moving onto a new and large threat. If you are looking for an action packed team book, you couldn't do better than this week's Justice League.

Another quick and fun read of Justice League. If you opted out of Scott Snyder's run, maybe this is the time to jump back in. The Justice League feels like a series focused on action and fun. While it isn't groundbreaking, it might be exactly what you need on your pull list.

Rober Venditti's first story arc in his Justice League run comes to a close. The battle against The Eradicator was a fun self contained story. Hopefully Venditti goes from strength to strength and starts to build a larger narrative soon enough.

It has been awhile since The Justice League was available to read, but this issue is a perfect jumping on point. A really fun adventure that leaves the reader with a tease of something larger to come. It is too bad Robert Venditti wont be on the title for long, because he writes some really fun Justice League comics.

If you are picking up this book and are not the biggest continuity nerd, it will read like a fun comic. However, the second you try and place this book into the larger DC Universe, certain elements fall apart. In no means is this a bad book, but it is an uneven puzzle piece that does not fit into the whole, both in story and art.

This issue of Justice League will be over before you know it. An action-packed comic that is a very quick and easy read. It does not get into The Spectre as much as previous titles, as instead, it focuses on a battle between The League and Amazonians. A fun read, but a slight read.

A simple conclusion to a simple story. The Spectre comes and goes here, and hopefully, we get to see the character again in a more meaningful way. This arc is just a "fill-in" but a fun one nonetheless, even though it is a bit shallow.

Another fill in arc, and this one has a Silver Age feel to it. It is a densely packed story that takes The Justice League many places, but probably won't matter in the long run.

The "fill-ins" continue on The Justice League, but at least the one is interesting. This is a politically charged moral tale, but it is also a very interesting read. Seeing the Justice League in a story like this is unique, new and refreshing.

Issue #50 of The Justice League is here, and it is a filler issue. You could skip this and miss nothing. Bad timing on DC's part in not getting something important for their milestone issue lined up. Instead, the fans get the conclusion of an inconsequential fill-in arc.

Justice League is back. If you have been skipping the fill-in issues, now is the time to pick the book up again. This arc continues directly after Scott Snyder's run and finally starts addressing lingering cliffhangers. If you are reading Death Metal you will have a bit more info, but it is not essential for understanding this book.

Justice League has finally found a regular writer. Unfortunately, the title is immediately thrown into a crossover. While the book is decent, and you can enjoy it without reading Death Metal, it still suffers from not having a focus. Xermancios art does elevate the book into being worth a purchase regardless.

Justice League #55 continues the Death Metal tie in arc, and it does read better than most tie-ins. However, if you don't care about Death Metal, there are still some things to have fun with here, namely the interesting team dynamic and the fantastic art. While the book feels rushed in places, it also has some neat ideas that are worth exploring. Overall, a well made book that succeeds despite the circumstances surrounding it.

A superb tie in comic. One that lives in the universe of the main series "Death Metal" while standing on its own. It is impossible not to have fun with this book. There are great moments with the new Justice League here Detective Chimp in particular), some high stakes, and impressive art. Even if you do not care about Death Metal this book is worth reading.

The Justice League title continues to spin its wheels in a forgettable issue. This arc started out with promise, but it ends as a commercial for Death Metal. Hopefully The Justice League book will find purpose again.

Brian Michael Bendis starts off on the right foot, on his new Justice League run. There is a new interesting set up, and The League will have a new and unique status quo. The only issue is Bendis pulls his punches when dealing with race.

Brian Michael Bendis has created an interesting and focused adventure for DC's premier team book. The Justice League is in a new Universe and facing a new threat. And their powers are all out of whack.

The story stalls a bit in this issue, but the art is still incredible. Justice League focuses on the battle with Brutus and not much else, which does not move the story forward significantly. A bit of a down point in an otherwise entertaining arc.

After this first arc the new Justice League is established, along with a new and interesting threat. Brian Michael Bendis has successfully started an interesting run on the title, and it will hopefully continue this trend going forward.

A quick and action packed comic. Justice League is still incorporating elements of previous Bendis material, but it is a bit more engaging here. Hopefully this arc continues to get better.

This is a strange comic. While I would not call this a great comic book, I am still interested in seeing what comes next. The overall plot and beats of the story seem to be heading somewhere exciting. But, the execution is off. Already this event is a bit of a fractured mess moving from title to title. I really feel like some focus would help Drowned Earth stand out. As of right now, this will be a story with some cool moments but mostly forgettable.

The climactic ending to Marvel's latest event is here! How will Eddie defeat the King in Black, Knull? And what awaits him in the future? Let's find out!

This series has been nothing but a series of hit after hit. A cohesive tale, where each issue deals with a new aspect of the New Gods. This issue will be cited as one of the best to ever feature Darkseid.

King and Gerads have created something that will be talked about for years. When collected in trade Mister Miracle will stand on the shelves proudly with other essential reading material. This is the best contemporary rendition of The New Gods. Even if you don't have any appreciation for the characters, this story has so much heart and care put into it. It is a deep and important read that challenges the medium as a whole. Issue 12 is a beautiful finale that could not be more perfectly executed. I will miss this book but, like all stories, I can always return. Mister Miracle can never escape this wonderful series, and he is better off for it.

Nightwing #83 feels like the culmination of a full arc yet gives the reader more to look forward to. With yet another masterful performance by Taylor, Redondo, and Lucas, Nightwing #83 is sure to give readers the feels they deserve and the taste in their mouth that will leave them begging for more. Yet another must-read from Taylor.

What we have here is a really fun comic that kids will love, and adults can enjoy reading to them. The characters and universe appeal to younger sensibilities without it being shallow. Overall, a great all-ages book that does not lean on the nostalgia of the original material.

Second Coming is a must read and will be yet another strong book coming from Ahoy. Pace and Russell are clearly working on a labor of love here. While the premise may seem offensive, it is actually a very well thought out piece on Christian teachings.

Second Coming continues to be an amazing book. Ahoy Comics made the smart choice in picking up this series. Anyone who feels that the concept of this book could be disrespectful will be pleasantly surprised by the intelligence that team here handles the material.

Second Coming is one of the best books on the stands. Regardless of your faith or lack of it entirely) this is a book that needs to be read. The team on this book is firing on all cylinders and creating something truly magical. The messages it teaches are important, yet it remains entertaining, and funny. This book will break your heart and make you smile.

Second Coming is now over, with a promise of season 2 on the horizon. Ahoy comics has again published one of the best books on the shelf today. If you can you need to track down the entire six-issue run or immediately order the trade. And if the subject matter turned you off, I think you will be surprised. Whether you are a die-hard atheist or a devout follower of Christ, this book deserves a place on your shelf.

Strange Adventure promises to be another Tom King classic. Mitch Gerads, and Evan "Doc" Shaner elevate the story and bring everything forward in a meaningful way. This DC Black Label maxi series is one not to miss out on. A politically charged comic that has something important to say about war and service.

Strange Adventures is back. Luckily this issue tells the other half of what went on during issue #1 so the gap does not hurt the series at all. Tom King is one of the best at creating 12 issue maxi-series and there is no question that this will be another fantastic one to add to your collection. Mr. Terrific in particular is going to be a stand out character going forward.

Tom King is back on top and firing on all cylinders. DC should consider keeping Tom King in the 12 issue maxi-series format. He clearly works well within the confines. Mitch Gerads and Evan Shaner are also putting forward some of their best work, making it a beautiful comic that stands out among the best of the best.

Strange Adventures is going to be a proud moment in this creative team's career. This comic continues to build from strength to strength. A book about war that actually looks at it in a realistic way, while still playing in fiction. This maxi-series is what good science fiction is about.

Hitting the mid-point of this series, and Tom King is setting up Act 2. Since it is a new introduction, the story slows a bit, making this issue slightly weaker. Overall, it is still a great comic, it just doesn't soar to the heights of the previous issues.

Strange Adventure #6 is another fantastic issue. If you are waiting for the trade, it will be a must buy once it is out. However, each issue seems to understand what serialized storytelling is about. This comic stands along perfectly while also servicing a larger narrative.

Issue 7 really ramps things up. Adam Strange no longer seems like a super hero as the reader will question the validity of his actions. While Mr. terrific is the one investigating, it is the reader that will ultimately have the final say if Adam is guilty or not.

This issue may not have any large revelations, but it leans into the theme of the book. War is a crime in itself. War heroes can also be seen as war criminals depending on the angle you look at it. Adam Strange is a protagonist, but he is not a hero. However, a lot of what is said in this book is left to the reader to face their own feelings on the nature of War.

As this issue stands, it is incredibly problematic (but has amazing art). It is possible, and hopeful, that these elements are addressed and refocused but the end of the series.

The penultimate issue of Strange Adventures focuses on Adam and Alanna, the core of the entire series. While the war allegory is on the back burner here; King, Gerads, and Shaner create an amazing comic that is a highlight of the series.

A great issue that doesn't stand alone. As a conclusion to an entire series it is satisfying, but if you haven't read the series yet just pick up the trade. Tom King, Miutch Gerads, and Evan Shaner have created an Adam Strange story worth reading.

Superman is getting ready to let the world know he is Clark Kent. In this comic he goes around coming to the realization of this choice. "Truth" is a theme throughout the issue, and Bendis is trying to give a reason for him to out his identity to the world.

Superman telling the world he is Clark Kent is a shallow gimmick. But this pivotal issue is really well written and hard to dislike. While the general idea of the comic still has not been "sold" at least it has some real emotional moments. A contrast of a bad story idea married with incredible character moments and writing.

Superman #19 is an issue many people have been waiting for. The reaction to Superman's reveal is well paced and explored. However the comic is muddied a bit with another plot line thrown in there like a monkey wrench.

Superman #20 is the strongest issue of the arc yet. Things start to click together in a meaningful way. This series has now become a "must read" and it is nice to see a Superman title stand out. Hopefully this momentum carries forward in the coming issues.

Brian Michael Bendis continues to make Superman a standout title. Clark Kent's big reveal is more than a publicity stunt, and is making for some interesting comics. The United Planets storyline is now completely intertwined with the main plot and it seems that this title is heading toward some interesting places.

The final issue of the arc does tie everything together nicely. Superman and Lois Lane work on their own plotlines and both end up being heroes of their own stories. Also if you want to see a hairy Superman this is the comic for you.

Another arc in Bendis' Superman run. This time he is playing in the the mystical aspects of the DC Universe, and hopefully it will lead to some interesting things. This is a promising start, but Bendis' work does not always pay off.

Superman#24 is a mostly forgettable issue. A seemingly important antagonist shows up only to leave shortly after. This Xanadoth arc was clearly a filler story and it reads like one. If you miss Superman this week you aren't missing much.

The over-sized 25th issues kicks off a new arc, and a great jumping on point for new readers. Bendis has some interesting ideas here, and it looks like he is going to incorporate events that took place outside his run. The new threat also seems like a worthwhile addition to the Superman rogues gallery.

Superman faces a Synmar threat, and this issue is mostly a fight between the two forces. While there are some nice character moments, overall this is a physical conflict. If you pick up this issue it will feel unfinished and like it was a chapter ripped from a trade. A typical Bendis Superman comic, where there are some great ideas here but not executed to the fullest extent.

This is a pretty good Superman comic. One that balances action and character development in a meaningful way. The only issue is it is coming 1/2 way through a poorly paced arc. In many ways this could have and should have been issue #1. Regardless, this is one of the better Brian Michael Bendis Superman comics to date, and it looks beautiful with Ivan Reis on art duties.

Overall a solid new start to Superman that features a lot of promise in what is to come. It is a quick read and the setup is there, but the payoff is still waiting. Hopefully, this is a new direction for Superman that elevates the title to its deserved iconic status.

Philip Kennedy Johnson is already making a name for himself as the new lead writer on Superman. So far his books are focusing on building the relationship between Superman and Superboy, while adding in new threats. These are the fun Superman comics we have been waiting for.

A decent chapter in the Superman saga, but does not reach the same excitement previous issues had. Superman and his son face a new and unique adventure, but overall it seems more stop gap than forward moving.

The final issue, of this run of Superman, ends with a story of not much weight. This comic arc is fun enough, but does not really advance the Superman mythos in the same ways that its companion title (Action Comics) has been doing.

Superman is all new, but the core ideas that make Superman a "Super" man remain. This comic is full of hope for a new and better world. This is a very promising start to an all new Superman title.

Superman deals with the fallout of the previous issue, while building his relationships with the larger cast (both old and new). Tom Taylor is carving out a very new world and status quo for Jonathan Kent, and it seems like it will be an essential read.

A really fun story, that is worth reading. It also works nicely as a jumping on point, even if you missed the previous few issues. Tony Stark is having a really fun world built around him. Hopefully Slott will start building the larger narrative and threat soon.

Despite the changes in the art, I could not recommend this book enough. The story is just so much fun. It is rare you pick up a comic that all three acts of a story are perfectly displayed, in roughly twenty pages. If you know nothing about Arno Stark, it won't matter at all. He will be a character you understand and appreciate by the time you put this book down.

I was enjoying the previous done-in-one stories in the last five issues, but I am happy the creative team is tackling something larger here. This issue is well laid out for new readers, or those who have been with the series from the start. The villain is clear but underutilized at the moment, but I am excited to see more of him next issue.

Tony Stark Iron Man is a series that seems to be going from strength to strength, and this latest major arc is a real page turner. The Controller is becoming a villain with a real threat level now, and his plan is dark and disturbing. This has the making of a definitive Iron Man story and run.

If you like Mojo, or just want a fun X-Men centric comedy, this might be worth picking up. I had a blast reading it, but it also wasn't something that really blew me away. I wish we got to see more of Mojo the internet troll, rather than just two pages of it. Overall, it is a nice addition to the X-Men Black series.
