Jan 29, 2020Morrison spent the first year building a mythology and a whole new cast of supporting players, and it seems like season two is going to pit them against each other in a cosmic war like we haven't seen in a long time. Read Full Review

Jan 31, 2020Morrison does a great job providing misdirection from Hal's actual endgame. It sets up his twist wonderfully and allows Hal to pull out a victory all stemming from the character traits that define Green Lantern 2814.1. Green Lantern: Blackstars #3 is a worthy finale to the interlude between seasons one and two of The Green Lantern. Read Full Review

Feb 04, 2020At first blush I thought 'a re-written universe as a trap ... coooool!'. But then as I mulled it over, I thought it ended up being a bit silly. A bit overdone. A bit too much? That is no knock on Xermanico's art. The whole thing is laid out opulently with wild visuals. Stunning. Read Full Review

Jan 29, 2020This spin-off never really found its way as Morrison went too abstract for a mini-series that needed a stronger focus. Ive still got high hopes for Season 2, but this was a disappointing side story. Read Full Review

Perfect. Morrison really gets the essential qualities of Hal Jordan.

Prelude: It's the last part of this between season story of Green Lantern: Blackstars. Let's see how Morrison and Xermanico go with it. The Good: It's interesting what Jon says in this issue. I love how ruthless and smart Belzebeth is. Hal is freaking great in this issue. The confrontations between Belzebeth and Hal was great. Xermanico's art was great throughout the issue. The Bad: Nothing. Conclusion: That was great. Loved the issue throughout. Season Two here we come.

Great stuff. As long as this book continues to be separate from the DC universe, it will continue to be amazing. The story was epic, as I've come to expect from Grant Morrison. The dialogue was fun and witty. This definitely isn't Morrison's best work, but it still is fun exciting stuff, which is rare in an age where every book seems to be aiming for depression and connecting everything together. The art is also great, though I would have loved to see Liam Sharp continue for this mini series as well. Luckily, he will be drawing Season Two, so I'm very excited, and hope all of this gets collected in an omnibus soon. My only complaint is about the entire series as well as season one is that if you have not been following along with thi more

I loved the trap that Jordan set to ensure victory. Morrison really wrapped this one up very nicely!

I kind of wish this had been spread out a little more, to give the story some more room to breathe. Because I liked this a lot but it was so rushed and a little explainy.

Morrison always has a big plan for everything, this being a great example. Cannot wait for Season 2 now.

Darker than expected and a pretty satisfying conclusion, although it didn't feel like it was fully explored.

This was pretty good. Not as good as issue two, but better than issue one. This series was unbalanced, but it had its moments. Kind of like Green Lantern Season One. Hopefully Season Two is better.

The art is well done, the story is "meh". Honestly why not just call this story issue # 13,14,15? So now we'll have a Season 2 Green Lantern #1 which takes away from the #1 issue that came out a year ago. The numbering is there for a reason and it isn't to boost sales with bogus #1 issues.
