The illustrations in GOD OF WAR: FALLEN GOD #1 look as if they're taken straight out of a God of War video games; the transition of Kratos into this comic book former is seamless.

GOD OF WAR: FALLEN GOD #3 raises more questions than it answers, but this keeps us coming back for more.

Grant Morrison's writing raises readers' anticipation to new levels in this issue. Watching Hal maneuver his way through an army of his fellow officers, while knowing an unimaginable threat grows closer, allows us to share in the Lantern's desperation.

With this being the last issue of Grant Morrison's current run in the series, it makes sense that he and his team would spend time a large portion of the story tying up loose ends. Some authors do this in rushed or forceful way, but Morrison ties them up like a bow.

It's refreshing to see a story with a woman taking the reigns in and of herself without a "strong man" leading the way. In fact, our strong man (Hal) in this scenario sits back and enjoys watching her taking the lead.

GREEN LANTERN: BLACKSTARS #2, being a part of a 3-part miniseries, speeds things along at a quick past, but it does so without leaving readers behind. The story is easy enough to follow and keeps us engaged with the main plot points.

Morrison brilliantly demonstrates the tensions that inevitably arise between the new generation and the old guard, the restless and the unmovable.

Prince's brilliant writing in HAHA #1 combines elements of drama and horror in this engaging one-shot story.

HAHA #2 is a sobering tale of the absurdities in life"both in its many obstacles and our own ways of fighting them.

HAHA #3 offers readers an abrupt change in Prince's storytelling formula while retaining a similar message.

HAHA #4 offers readers a unique deviation in the style of stories the creative team is telling in this series.

Otto Schmidt's artwork for this series's second issue is unique in its pleasing simplicity. The fluidity of the characters' designs pairs well with varying purple shades, reminding us that this is undoubtedly a Hawkeye-focused story.
