My only disappointment with this book is that it is over. I love these characters and I would read so much more of them. I'm sure we'll probably see more of them in future issues of Black Hammer and its miniseries. Whatever the wait is, it will be too long. I love Black Hammer and I love this book. Serving as exploring more of the Black Hammer universe and some of how Lucy ended up where she is in the main storyline, this four-issue miniseries was a wonderfully fun trip down some of the intriguing avenues of the world. I enjoyed all of the characters and their quirks that Jeff Lemire bright to life with the dialogue and their stories. And I thoroughly loved the visuals for all of this with the weirdness of a lot of it and some utterly engaging and strong layout designs to move the dialogue through, especially in an issue like this. I've been a huge fan of David Rubin's work for a while now and this simply cements it further and has me hopeful for some intriguing projects in the near future for him, both in this world and his own. “Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil” #4 is a very strong ending for a miniseries that adds a lot of world building to “Black Hammer.” Lemire and Rubin cement Lucy as the center of this very big story (at least at this point) and I'm excited to see what else this superhero universe has in store for us this year. I'm not sure if we learnt much about the Black Hammer universe from this series that we didn't already know. It all seemed rather pointless.
