But Why Tho? - William J. Jackson
Jul 27, 2021Robin #4 keeps enriching my love for this series, all the combatants and hungry for answers about Lady Swan, Lazarus Island, the League of Lazarus, and League of Assassins backstory, Damian's progress, and how this tournament will play out once it truly begins. I expect lots of blood, gore, and sinister revelations. But I'm here for the growing love for the young hero Damian Wayne, and no previous book really succeeded in getting me to like him. Jul 30, 2021Final Thoughts:Joshua Williamsons Robin #4 takes a quick detour on dropping a few threads for another storyline while setting up the next issue. With everyone having died at least once, the true fatalities (see what I did there) can begin! I would recommend this issue for anyone who loves Damian, Mortal Kombat, or even Ras Al Ghul. This issue contains all of that along with a special cameo of Damians other family. Overall, this was a great issue and Williamson continues to knock it out of the park with Gothams Sweet Potato Pie! Jul 27, 2021I'm still in love with this series. While this issue had a few moments I am kind of hesitant about, and a Ra's al Ghul who doesn't quite seem in character, it is a lot of fun to read. Damian having a training day with his grandfather is something I didn't expect to play out quite like it did, but those surprises can be good. Jul 27, 2021While I'm still all about Damian Wayne making his own destiny and wanting to learn about the League of Lazarus as his first stop on that road to destiny, this issue felt odd in that it stopped the momentum and felt like it needed to cool down things before they ever heat up. This issue is amazing just like the other ones, this one does slow down a little bit but it still doesn't loose the interest. the issue is to teen Damian the lesson of patience and his interaction with Ra's was amazing. Bring Ra's back to the roots was also nice rather than just a villain because he is much more. I don't know where this is going to go but I do wish Damian follows his fathers path and have a nice reunion with him soon, because he already has a dark past (possibly darker then his father) so he doesn't need to have a dark future rather him embracing the Robin identity and doing something big would be amazing. A arc with his father as Batman and Robin needs to be done which is written by Joshua Williamson.

Damn this is a fantastic book. i like the manga influence on the comic and the plot and character building is really great.

The action's always great as are the character interactions. Ra's al Ghul still finds purpose in what he does and tries to keep what he love close. For someone who's lived so long, he might be the right person to teach Damian patience. Then there's how Ravager interacts with Respawn, is he just a fan of Deathstroke or is there something more to him?

Jorge Corona does a great job filling in for Melnikov. Excited to see the tournament start as well as the convergence of the League of Shadows, Lazarus, and Assassins.

I really hate Ra's Al Ghul, so I was expecting a really bad issue, but it wasn't that bad. Shout out to Neck Grayson at the end there.

The previous two numbers were decent, but this number the art is horrible, Damian looks like a misshapen dwarf, Dick looks like a monster out of Dracula's castle. On the other hand the whole story was ridiculous, I didn't fall in love with the part like Karate kid and Ra doing the master Miyagi. I've not nothing against Williamson, sometimes he make things interesting, but only this time he completely went off the road.
