May 30, 2020Since DCeased debuted, we've all been clamoring for more from this universe. There's a follow-up mini-series on the way and Unkillables, a short tie-in, just wrapped up. Taylor knows what hes doing though even if we already know the fates of Superman and company. While this first chapter is a bit of recap from the original DCeased story, seeing it through the eyes of Jimmy Olsen makes it feel fresh. Also, it's nice to get up to speed before venturing forward, especially since the cliffhanger looks badass. If you need some DCeased action to tide you over until Dead Planet hits, or want a new Digital First book from Tom Taylor, you can't go wrong with DCeased: Hope at World's End Chapter One. May 21, 2020Seeing characters you've loved for decades die is always harrowing, but despite the violence, horror and chaos, every issue of this set of stories has always ended leaving us with a sense of hope. Out of canon continuity books like this one allow for fresh and innovative storytelling: Batman and Superman can never die in their own mainstream books " at least not permanently " so seeing them perish in these tales really hits hard. Prelude: DCeased has been great and here's yet another series for it. Let's see how this one goes. The Good: Jimmy is a great character to get some outsider perspective through. Nguyen's art is great. Really good character moments. The Bad: Small thing but DC, can you stop it with the "[Name] War"'s? Conclusion: It's a very emotional issue showing a more civilian side to DCeased. Great job from Taylor.

Much like Unkillables #3, this was fine. Luckily, Tom Taylor is no stranger to the format so this was well paced unlike The Adventures Continue. I just don't really care about any of this?
