Batman #619

After a year of building toward this moment, Jeph Loeb engages in what is essentially an information dump, as all the answers to the questions come spilling out in this final chapter, and while there are some very clever ideas at work here, and I truly enjoyed the big reveal of the true mastermind behind this arc, the simple fact of the matter is that Jeph Loeb got too caught up in keeping the readers off balance, that he spends most of the issue untangling the overly complex mystery. It also doesn't help that some of the information that is offered up is rather weak as the reasoning for why Hush holds such a mad on toward Bruce Wayne is downright goofy, and the scene where it's explained why each member of the rogues gallery took part in this plot almost reads like the two characters are reading off a laundry list. This issue marked the disappointing end to a disappointing story line. Im not sure if Ill be back for Loeb and Lees second run on the title, but I will say the odds arent too good. It seems like Loeb got in over his head with this arc and could never quite regain control of his creation. Heres hoping this is the exception to the rule when it comes to Loebs work. Riddler is revealed to be the big bad as well as Thomas Elliott, thanks to deception from Clayface and help from Poison Ivy, Harley Quin, Joker, and Killer Croc. Loeb got in a bit over his head but overall I loved Hush, and Jim Lee's art took the arc to the next level

Hush had its flaws for sure but it was an entertaining chapter.I found the motive of Elliot unrealistic and his plan excessive.The use of Riddler as mastermind wasn't a good choice, I mean he barely showed up in the whole story.Basically, some of the characters were unnecessary and hadn't any reason to participate.Unfortunately, the relation between Batman and Catwoman hadn't happy ending and didn't lead anywhere.Loeb created an impressive story with clever elements.Undoubtedly, Hush isn't as good as Long Halloween or Dark Victory but I think it will become a classic and Jim Lee helped a lot in that.

Third time reading this and probably the last one, I can´t deny Hush had some good moments, but the ending is AWFUL. Jim Lee really elevated the comic to another level, his best work, I would say, so good it made people think it is actually a classic, it certainly deserves attention, but only because of Jim Lee. In fact, most of Jim Lee's work is, sadly, bad(Not because of him, of course). Hush, Superman For Tomorrow, All Star Batman, Justice League and Suicide Squad.
