Ultimate Comics: Ultimates #2

This is the best of the current Ultimate line-up of books at Marvel. Sure, it has high concept elements in the book that can be confusing, but for me, that's really part of the appeal of the issue and the story. This is one of the few times where I've actually enjoyed Thor and what he was up to, and the new villains in this story are also a lot of fun. Ribic's art fits this book insanely well and really adds to the realism of the book. Lastly, there are no punches held on the violence, but it doesn't go over-the-top. All three new ongoing Ultimate books show plenty of promise, but Ultimates doesn't completely capitalize on its potential yet. Future issues will need to ensure that this becomes more of a team effort, and that Hickman's various plot threads gel into a more cohesive whole. Read Full Review

Ultimately (pun intended), the issue is decent. Esad Ribic's art is very nice and the action is actually good. These new villains are fairly awesome and pretty brutal. It's a little tough to follow though and it worries me that a resolution to the arc will come too quickly because so much is packed into this single part. Read Full Review

Okay, this was cool. Seeing all people of tomorrow introduced and Gods fallen... However, I wonder how they can defeat the PoT when they just easily destroyed Asgard...

Ultimates needs to let the reader take a deep breath and process everything that's happened, or more like what Nick Fury has talked about what's happened. Doesn't seem like an Ultimates comic as much as it's a Nick Fury, Thor, and Iron Man comic.
