This was as great a continuation as it was a first issue, which speaks volumes for the creative team. Jul 07, 2020The zombie spin-off has been a long-standing trope, of course, but Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine have done something very different with it. This is ultimately a human tragedy with massive stakes, and it's a great opportunity to let characters like Damian and Jon Kent to take the lead. I want more of President Lois Lane, among other things, and I cannot wait to see what happens when these heroes reunite with the Earth survivors including Jason, Cass, Harley, and Ivy. Jul 07, 2020And that's the issue with the comic. It's really entertaining and an excellent follow up to everything that has come before. The problem is too much of what happens is choreographed. The latter parts of the comic are predictable and aren't surprising at all as they're all foreshadowed at some point. Apr 13, 2022The world of DCeased is one that I enjoy a lot because it's able to do what Injustice dead in not being beholden to larger continuity. That allows it to make changes, and boy does it make changes what with Earth 2, lots of dead heroes and villains, and some great character drama and coping because of it. Taylor delivers a strong opening here that sets the tone well with a taste of hope and Harisine's artwork is fantastic in bringing that story to life. I'm eager to dig into more as time provides. DC you better come out with an omnibus of this entire series, including the digital one shots that Taylor did. This is the best Elseworlds story/alternate universe story DC has done in years. Emotional, amazing world building, amazing characters, wow this first issue is amazing.

I liked this issue though I had a few concerns. 1. I know they address that going back to Earth1 is dangerous, but really. They lost the entire JLA the first time around. And Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman were more powerful and experienced. Its like they do not even take a minute to realize it could a trap or a bad idea. 2. Ollie going makes no sense. I get that he killed Aquaman, but it just seems like he would be a liability. Sigh. 3. Seriously Superman couldn't hear that Wondar Woman was approaching. They clearly showcased that his super hearing was as good as his dad earlier in the issue. 4. I do not believe that Dinah would be strong enough to stab Superman with the sword. 5. Superman being stabbed is in bad shape more

-Enjoyed the opening sequence of Constantine drinking with ghosts -The art is amazing as usual with this series -dialogue between lane and her son is so good -Taylor always does a good job of adding a bit of light in this comic(humor in this case with green arrow talking to green lantern) -"Shes here" is terrifying

I was looking forward to DCeased: Dead Planet because I really enjoyed the first DCeased event. I gotta say, Tom Taylor continues to amaze with this elseworld tale. Following the events of DCeased, our heroes have created a new Justice League and receive an alert from a tracer which has them return to Earth on a mission. The stakes are high, and knowing how Taylor has killed of a great deal of characters in the first outing, no one is safe here, adding a real sense of weight and excitement to every page because each panel could be a character's final panel. This is a very exciting event which is not afraid of taking risks and avoids being cliche for the most part. A high recommendation and an enjoyable read. 9/10

Classic Tom Taylor. DCeased returns with a much anticipated sequel to DCeased. And it doesn't disappoint. It fast paced, it emotional, it has highs, lows, this comic out the gate is a roller coaster, speeding straight off from its prequel. Tom Taylor is a superstar writer with works such as DCeased and Injustice. And his sequel to DCeased shares lot of similarities with his past work such as Injustice, but he continuously evolves how he approaches world-building and his niche for characters heavy emphasis, and I am looking forward to what else he can bring in this series. I recommend you guys read the various comic shorts between DCeased and DCeased: Dead Planet, as it seems everything is going to tie back together. Tom Taylor touc more

I mean, I like this as sort of a popcorn comic. There's a lot of flaws with what happens for the sake of the plot, but I've learned that turning my brain off is best for zombie comics. I hope this time around, things go a different direction.
