It's hard to predict exactly where the story will go next. The moment I thought I figured out the pattern of where I thought the arc would land, Eaglesham and Lemire bent my expectations, and I found an involuntary smirk on my face. The Terrifics #8 was a fun change of pace for the team after finally finding Tom Strong. There was an excellent dynamic to the teams they broke off into, and this creative team really stretched their legs with the unusual situations these characters found themselves in while on their new mission. The issue has moments that mean that the next one will be awesome but I need more from this series than the promise that something good will come along. I've been reading this series from the first issue and while I enjoy it for the most part, this issue really didn't move much forward for me. It seemed like it was taking baby steps towards a bigger, more interesting story. Read Full Review

There are a lot of fun scenes and wacky goings-on that are disparately connected, and seemingly exist solely to give the artist a chance to draw crazy stuff. There are worse reasons for a narrative, but after eight issues I'd have hoped that convenient changes to the status quo and other contrivances would be ironed out. Because I'm not sure this series is going to get another eight issues to figure it out. Read Full Review

I gave it eight issues but the problems only seemed to grow as it went along and the unfocused nature of the series simply didn't keep my attention. When a book I have a subscription to shifts from anticipated or neutral to dread, that's time to start jumping off it unless you can see how it might turn around in the short term. Again a great issue. I really love the ties between Tom & Michael. Maybe Lemire settle the Terrifics major problems too easily. I'm still sure the female reporter in the daily planet is related to Tom. Maybe his wife. Cover - Very nice & related 2/2 Writing - I really like this issue. It's the FF title I love to read right now. The only FF title I love to read in fact. 3/3 Arts - Wonderfull even if the cartoony part wasn't his strong suit. 2.5/3 Feeling - I want to read the next issue for sure. 2/2

Oh man... If one day they cancel The Terrifics ill be so sad!!! Its such a fun book and the art in this one is, too, great! Ducktor Dread in the Funnyland brought me back to when i was a kid watching Looney tunes <3 The Aztech Empire is, basically, a Jack Kirby homage! The "soap opera" moment with Java and Sapphire was kinda like... "ok... so... moving on." you know? lol And the cliffhanger at the end was awesome! So much fun!

So true I would be bummed out. The Terrifics in my opinion is the best out the DC New Age Heroes books. 👍
