DC needs to start firing people. ASAP. I know people would be mad, but the fact that this comic was pitched, approved, written, drawn, approved again, printed, approved AGAIN and published is enough to think that some people have a job they should not have.

This book is well a comic book , I read a preview three weeks a go and remember nothing about it , not so bad that it deserves hate, not good enough that you can rave about it. Just kind of there in it's own mediocre glory
Justice League #75
Oversize special issue! Superstar writer Joshua Williamson pens the beginning of the next big DCU event! It all starts here! A new Dark Army made up of the DCU's greatest villains has formed on the edges of the Multiverse! The DCU's best and most powerful heroes are pulled together in an epic war to push the darkness back! "Saving the damn day!"
Is "killing" your best superheroes the thing you do when you're out of ideas and you want to get the "new and improved" heroes over with the readers?
Josh Williamson for the most part is a solid writer but I'm sorry to say he can't get a win with a premise like that.
Even Rafa Sandoval's art, which usually is nice to look at, seems rushed and just

Brandon Petersen's art is soooooo bad.
Williamson's no Morrison, but he does a pretty decent job nonetheless. No high concepts like in Multiversity, but some great callbacks and entertaining moments. The discount Thanos getting merked by Darkseid while having a giant "snap" effect is hilarious. The return of the Grandmother Box (now grandfather) and Sturmer got me so hyped. Excited for

"I am inevitable!"
A decent start with a very uneven art.

"Honesty [...] it's the most loyal thing there is"
And issue #2 is just as good.
We get a nice, dynamic opening, continuing from the ending of the last issue, and the story moves after that with a nice, brisk pace, showing us more of the world created and more familiar faces in new situations. It's still funny though that they are calling Black Lightning - King Jefferson Pier

"Can I get your autograph?"
Finally! A competently written issue of Batman in which he is the main star and is not playing second fiddle to some bland knock-off characters.
Good job Mr. Williamson.

We continue the feminization of Jon Kent who this time comes up with a classic lesbian haircut, we're probably on the path of him coming out as gender neutral (the bi thing is clearly not enough for progressives) because, to quote Tom Taylor, "We don't need yet another straight white savior", we all know how disgusting those people are. And of course we get another rant about climate change becaus more
Superman: Son of Kal-El Annual: 2021
Jon Kent's first days as Earth's new Superman have been a trial by fire. His actions have already put those he loves in harm's way. He has stood strong in the path of constant attacks, but the immovable object is about to meet an unstoppable force. Lex Luthor-the man, the myth, the menace-returns to Metropolis.
Sometimes I feel like I'm living on the South Park show, with Kyle's dad getting the dolphinplasty and asking for baths and special treatment.
"I don't have time for side quests"
There is always time for side quests and this issue was wonderfully bonkers. I think Howard Porter is giving here everything he's got.
The ending cliffhanger felt a little bit forced though.
Deathstroke Inc. #3
Deathstroke hunts the deadly Cheetah to the last place you'd expect...the legendary land of Che-terra, a storybook fantasy of Cheetah's creation! To get to Cheetah, Deathstroke must hack his way past evil witches, murderous unicorns, and an army of cat warriors! But as they battle the dangers of space, Black Canary begins to uncover the truth about T.R.U.S.T and exactly why they w...
Ok, so first of all, the art from Jimenez here is just gorgeous, he really outdid himself big time. He did some great work on Batman too, but this is next level stuff. I like the fact that DC gave this book to an artist, regardless of his sex, and they reaped the rewards in spades. Good job there!
Now the story is another thing. If you know Kelly Sue DeConnick, you know the hating of me

Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons #1
The wait is over, and the entire story of the Amazons can finally be told! Millennia ago, Queen Hera and the goddesses of the Olympian pantheon grew greatly dissatisfied with their male counterparts...and far from their sight, they put a plan into action. A new society was born, one never before seen on Earth, capable of wondrous and terrible thing...
What a boring issue, medium art, John Ridley is a academy award winning writer, he should be writing a book at least great. I was going to read it until issue 4, but after this one, I'm out
I Am Batman #3
Jace attempts to stem the tide of misinformation from the Seer as this mysterious adversary sends a heavily armed mob to a juvenile detention facility to break out a member of their militia. When Jace realizes his mother, Tanya, is at the facility, he'll stop at nothing to save her! But will he be too late?
"The cute, white killer and his privileged black lawyer..."
Making it difficult from the very first pages, huh?
But that was some decent bat-action, I'm not going to lie. Way better than what Tynion was serving.
The art could've been more consistent, though.

"The Demon Rises"
Another solid issue from Josh Williamson.
Good art, kick-ass fight and a nice cliffhanger.
Robin #8
It's time for a rematch! Robin and Connor Hawke face off for round two in their winner-take-all battle for League of Lazarus supremacy, but with the tournament nearing its end, what surprises does Mother Soul have up her sleeve? I hope it doesn't involve that massive, hellish pit and the immortal monster lying within it-aw beans, it's about that, i...
"Can we please focus up"
So that's where they got the armors in Batman #117. Good to know.
Nightwing #86
Nightwing and Babs have fought through the fear-stricken Gotham streets, but now their fight takes them to the skies above Gotham, with the Batgirls and Tim Drake (Robin) in tow! Now aboard the Magistrate's Skybase-01, they have made it their mission to bring the airborne leviathan down, prevent Seer's disinformation from being broadcast, and save ...
The artwork is better than last issue, as is the colouring. The script is better too. Nothing really happens, though. In this instance, Taylor's script is the victim of the current trend for incredibly decompressed story-telling.
Superman: Son of Kal-El #5
Faster than fate. As powerful as hope. Able to lift us all. For all his great power, Jon Kent can't save everyone, but that won't stop him from trying. How much can Earth's new Superman do before this Man of Steel buckles? And when he does, who swoops in to save Superman?
So we all knew this was coming and we all knew Tom Taylor is as stupid as they come but we didn't know it was going to be this stupid. I mean, I expected some explanation as to why a character who has NEVER shown any attraction to boys and has been attracted to several girls his age would all of a sudden swing that way. Nope, he just kisses the pink-haired guy and that's it, we're supposed to buy more

Dude, a copy means you've replicated something. Conner ISN'T a copy, he's a COMBINATION of Clark and Lex. Search the dictionary for what "copy" means. Match is a copy, yes, he's Conner's copy. Conner is no one's copy. Ergo, he is the first half-human, half-kryptonian, not Jon. I am not wrong so yeah, I'm not going to admit I'm wrong when I'm not. You know when I was wrong on Black Manta I admitted as much. Seems like you're not man enough to do the same. No surprise there, honestly.
"It's not you, it's an armed robbery"
Yeah, there's like zero chemistry between these two. Zero. Nada. Zilch. But at least we know who's going to be headlining the next year's pride anthology.
With that out of the way.
Five issues! It took Jon five issues to finally act like a bloody superhero. About damn time. Saving people from drowning, kidnapping; finding lost

Well, that was an okay conclusion to a story I really didn't care for. These Batman events never feel so grand to me, to justify having so many tie-ins. Like Joker War, Fear State felt much smaller in scope than what DC marketed it to be.
As for conclusion to Tynion's run, this is really disappointing. I feel like he did nothing with Bruce and this run I will remember as... meh. I have
