A very good review, please continue to add your reviews here, we could use people who actually put some input here and don't just blindly accept a writers' self-insert because they're fanboys.

Thank god Bendis is gone, that might've been the worst Justice League I've ever read.
Justice League #74
Justice League Dark crossover conclusion! Another full double-size issue crossover spectacular as Xanadoth, the original Lord of Chaos, has returned. With unlimited power and revenge against all on its mind, the Lord of chaos has taken the form of Black Adam and no. One. Is. Safe. The final chapter of the Eisner-winning Bendis Justice League run wr...
Awful dialogue, cringy humour, and nothing important happens. This issue is completely pointless. A filler issue is fine, but it's not as if the last arc was especially heavy.
Nightwing #90
A Nightwing and Wally West story, part 1 of 2! When it's easier to go buy bagels as Nightwing than as Dick Grayson because everyone is either trying to get him for his money or kill him for the price on his head, Nightwing realizes he'll need to enlist the help of his Teen Titan friends as his bodyguards, and the first to volunteer is of course his...
The dialogue between Clark and Bruce in the opening pages is dreadful. Taylor has demonstrated this trait towards trite and glib dialogue before; clearly he think it is sharp, witty and deep, but it isn't: it's just tedious.
And tedious is the perfect word to describe this comic as a whole. We get very little happening alongside smatterings of sub-CW dialogue, where every character over

Nightwing #89
Superman/Nightwing crossover! Years ago, when Robin took his first uncertain steps away from Batman as his own hero, Superman stepped in and offered Dick Grayson crucial advice, support, and a name: Nightwing. Now it's time for Nightwing to return the favor.
Tom Taylor's actually a pretty good writer when he's not wasting everyone's time with cheap virtue signaling.
Dark Ages #1
This is what the Watcher has been watching for!
A danger older than the Earth threatens everything. For once, the heroes who have saved the planet so many times are almost powerless in the face of it.
X-Men and Avengers assemble. Spider-People and Fantastic Four come together. Heroes for Hire fight alongside Champions.

So Earth isn't Clark Kent's planet because he wasn't born there? What an amazingly racist comment. Taylor displays his asinine view of the world by effectively arguing that somewhere is only your home if you were born there. Wow, that is so incredibly racist. Does Taylor actually believe that someone can only be American if they are born in the USA (I am from the UK)? That's the kind of xenophobic more
Superman: Son of Kal-El #2
Jonathan Kent now dons his father's cape, but can he be Superman and still have a normal life? It's tough in this modern world. Danger is everywhere. The new Superman learns this the hard way on his first day of college, and a deadly attack forces Jon to step from the shadows and into the spotlight-where his identity is exposed to the Truth, an act...
Thanks for saying it, there is too much hypocrisy in this book and, as you say, xenophobia. I feel that in a need to make their comic book heroes look good, more now with all the terrible situation in Afghanistan they hang up this little act when they have left a lot of Cubans to drown. I'm not saying that a country has to take all responsibility for the citizens of other countries if it is not in their hands. The issue of refugees and the undocumented is very complicated.
Now we are talking that Clark is a citizen raised, nationalized and educated in the USA and it is not his land? !!! Sounds like an ungrateful bastard, to me.
I would usually rate this higher but guess what? They changed tim drake sexuality. I am all fine for diversity but at least introduce new characters that happen to be LGBT. It happened to Alan Scott, it happened to star lord and iceman, and it happened to Tim drake. I have no doubt this will be divisive right now.
On one hand, I'm glad that there's at least a solid reason why Tim Drake'

Red Hood: The epic "Cheer" story line reaches its conclusion, and Red Hood's alliance with Batman will be forever changed. Will the former Dynamic Duo get the Cheerdrop drug off the streets for good? Or will they forever be at the mercy of the villain who created it? And will Red Hood find a new home for Tyler, the boy he's sworn to protect? Ti...
Star lord isn't bisexual, he wasn't on the pride book listing Al gays of Marvel universe. Writes have to stop writing bad ganfic
At the moment he is not making any character a Disney princess or taking absurd politics. Which is good, a interesting proposal, as it feels a bit lost and doesn't catch you enough, we'll see where it leads in the next issue.

Wow, this one was bad. I mean, I expected that but I thought since they brought Coipel, Ridley would try something better but nope. Let's just see some lines here.
"He can't see behind my mask. Or that I've appropriated a mask he helped create" YES, Ridley, thank you. This coming just after talking about sincerity is incredibly ironic but I loved it. At least deep down he knows he's doi

Oh I investigated lmao. You aren't fooling anyone. Well... you're fooling some folks clearly. Haunting mind... I like the sound of that. I'll be stealing jt
And on a note ,Toonstrack , there are people who have occupations, maybe you don't understand that the world revolves beyond comics. You know, school, work, friends. If you look out the window, you will see a real world outside, where normal people live and engage in various activities.
The only thing I liked here is that we FINALLY get an idea about Bendix's plan, that's the only good thing here. Everything else is just stupid and propagandistic beyond belief. The good news is this book isn't selling and I think it's going to get cancelled pretty soon. If Wonder Girl got cancelled, which wasn't a great book but it was definitely better than this crap, I think this will get cance more
Superman: Son of Kal-El #8
Henry Bendix's plans for ultimate control threaten every superhero on Earth. And, in trying to stand against the dictator of Gamorra, Superman makes himself a target of business and world leaders. He is seen by too many as a force that must be stopped. How much can even a Man of Steel stand against before he bends?
More garbage writing and awful artwork.

Truth, Justice and the American Way. Come on, PKJ, you're not a lefty who hates America but pretends he doesn't, I know that, say it after me: Truth, Justice and the American Way. Nothing to be ashamed of, believe me.
Putting that aside, this is an ok issue, as is this run so far. Ok, but nothing especially great. I usually like Federici's art but here I feel like he didn't have the cha

Action Comics #1039
"The Warworld Saga, Part III." Everything has changed. After the heart-stopping events of Action Comics #1037, Superman and the surviving members of the Authority see a side of Warworld they never knew existed. In the lower catacombs, Superman finds another survivor of the lost Phaelosian race of Krypton, a scientist turned enslaved gladiator with...
I know that he saw them during his vision, I remember that. It does seem unrealistically when he says he has no idea what that he means but that he's SURE the writing runs upward. Like, I don't know arabic but I only know the writing goes from right to left only because it's a verified knowledge, otherwise I'd have no fucking clue. Same goes about Mandarin. I just find that bit very convenient.
It's lazy because we don't have any translation, we have no idea what they're talking about and that was my point, PKJ just fills some pages with "dialogue" that doesn't actually mean anything. Of couse alien species communicate in their own language and we always see that across comics but usually it comes with a translation. Here it just seems like PKJ needs to fill up the number of pages with something and he chooses that gibberish. I'd be much more content with letting Federici's art shine.
Like other critics, the 3 is for the art. The story is so bad that it lowers what should be a higher art score.
The "story" has a whole issue to progress, but the whole of the issipue could be reduced to one page. It spins its wheels and is lost thanks to a confusing multi-timeline format. And King has totally forgotten about Phantasm.
To be fair, so had I, but remembered he

I like that Tim Fox is out of Gotham, but he's still not Batman for me.
I Am Batman #6
Jace Fox's baptism by fire as Batman during "Fear State" was the first step toward his next great challenge-a relocation to the Big Apple! Joining his mother and sisters in the move as they arrive to the city, Jace will find new adventure, a rekindled love, and terrifying new adversaries as "Empire State of Mind" begins!
I don’t think I’ve UTTERLY DESPISED a writer like Tom Taylor since bendis. EVERYTHING he’s done is shit. Injustice was the Superman is evil trope. The racist hot dog in x men red. And now making one of the greatest new characters in recent memory gay. He can fucking go to hell
Please don't use disparaging remarks about creators or insult them. It's a request from the site owner, Dan, not from me. Otherwise, yeah, I don't like Taylor's recent work either. Fortunately I think Superman Son of Kal-El will get cancelled pretty soon, the sales are not good.
I've kind of run out of metaphors to say how bad this is. Just stupid ramblings on and on, Catwoman's voice is still just awful, nothing here works. There's the beginning of a revelation here, like that's all that matters, but I just cringe at everything else.

As you know I have stopped reading DC comics with the exception of two or three books. But I read a Russian acquaintance furious at the way Selina is personified here.
Yeah, I've cut down on a lot of DC and Marvel books too, the quality is waning lately.
To all the people complaining that Nightwing isn't having a bigger role: you're reading a book written by a declared feminist, if you thought Nightwing was going to be the main character, it's honestly just your fault. Just demand better in the future from the writers if you're bothered by it.
