Art is ok, story is ok, nothing special but you can't support this series. The end.

A horrible writer.A demonic human being.She was fired and deserved it.

This is competentent, but to me it feels somewhat creatively bankrupt. From what the city is, to the whole thing Jason is going through. It feels like Nightwing in the 90s and even some more recent red hood comics and maybe it is an effect that the writer wants to achieve, that wants to honor, but for me this comics has a hard time justifying its existance.

There is things to like. For example Jeff Spokes art is spectacular and the visial direction that he decied to follow also. The colors create this heavy hot ambience, that weights on every page. It has this roughness, brutish and again weight, that fits jason really well and the action scenes feel more intese and unpredicable because of it. It feels like not only it has a good idea of atonomy, but also of weight distribution. The visual depiction of the mood of the characters with colors and position is very very nice. the place feel hot, but also frozen in its hotness and dryness. A minor complain would be some page compositon and paneling decision, which ended up maybe a little bit confusing or just were not at the height of some of the others, bacause of which some moments felt blander.

As for the writing, i see a lot of people disliking how jason was written and helena also for that matter. I agree in the sense, that honestly, if we exclude the visuals, both of them do not really show much of a character in the way they speak or think. It could be made the case that it fits the atmosphere of the surronding and the mood, but where the mood of the surrondings feels opressed in heat and almost sureal in its proto rinascimento alla commedia divina glory, the words do not feel as stilled. This is an issue for both the dialogue and the naration, both lack this sense of not only urgency, but realistic intesity.

The plot also fails to grab me too much. I like some of the things that it leaves open, but for some of the other stuff i feel like it rushes and at the same time, does not manage to provide a good enough hook for the next issues. I would have loved to see a more interesting approach to the whole thing, to exploring jason's situation or even developing the current plot, because now both look like half measures and the development we got do not interest me much.

I honestly with the recent news do not know if this would be the last issue of the series. i could see the other issue being better, i could see how it is maybe planned to be better but as i said i truly don't know. I dont know if what Dc decided to do is right or wrong. As a non american is not truly my place to think anything about it, but a person who liked watching debates, i personally did not respect Charlie Kirk, not even because i do not agree with him,there are plenty of people i do not agree with but i do respect, but because of the tactics he used in those debates,the attitude he had in them, the missinformation he spread and the way he presented mostly the debates he felt confident in ''winning''. more

I almost bought this book - the art looks absolutely amazing after all - but after the latest developments concerning its author, I'm glad I didn't. I'm sorry that other people at DC have to suffer now because of him.

THe only redeeming quality of this issue is its art. The writer does not know anything about Red Hood, or Huntress. It boggles my mind me why he was hired by DC.

Well, that's it. With the news of this book being now cancelled, I can't say I am terribly sad. Not because this was a bad comic, but mostly because it was a continuation to H2SH and the less we talk about that, the better.

I expected something better from this book. Red Hood definitely doesn't feel like the Hood we know. He lacks wit and wit, and he seems like a guy going through his third divorce. I haven't read much about the Huntress. except for the Hood, The art is decent. I didn't like the panels much; sometimes they seem confusing given in the little action they gave us. I felt it was too weak for a starter. P ersonally, I don't like the pairing with Helena; that that of beating the atole of his almost brotheris a bit disgusting for my taste.
In conclusion, the main character doesn't feel like himself. It wasn't as brutal as they promised, and the start was boring considering what they promised, but it was much better than what they did with Hill. In short, for the price I got it, it seemed expensive compared to its quality. I read that the series is being canceled. I hope they find a good writer who knows the character and pick up the Hood series again. I'm not talking about continuing this. Maybe the next issues would have been better, or not.

And I'm not interested in these people's controversies or dirty laundry. I just want a good read accompanied by good art.more

Desperate, mediocre, and terribly bad writing. I think I read this in a fanfic, and I can remember that the writing wasn't that sad.
First, Batman's desperation to secretly save a criminal, as if he couldn't fulfill his duty by talking to the police and leaving him to his fate. No. It has to be like a desperate lover trying to help the love of his life. Boring and beyond trite.
On the ot her hand, we have a Hood or Jason again, not allowing for much or little development since the writers are mediocre and don't like to learn about the character. And this goes for you too, Zdasky.

Now, as if trying to copy a good comic made by a good writer, they decide to make a mix of those comics and a lot of fanfic, some of which are sadly far superior to current comics. If you don't believe me, go read Who I Am. Who I'll Never Be. by Zootopon. Believe me, this guy can teach you how to write a good story.

Back on topic, another fan fic where the well doesn't completely heal Jason and he starts to get sick, and they want to threaten us into buying this shit by saying he'll kill a Robin.
Nightwing is discarded, his Gary Stu, and they can't kill him. Tim is gay now, so he's untouchable, which leaves Damian and Jason, but killing them again? That would be the comics' laughable, very trite, uncreative thing. Hush is a Mary Sue villain. All this writing contradicts itself over and over again; no one has the brains to do things.

Damascus steel isn't rare or only forged in a single region of the world. In fact, it's fairly simple and really only adds a special pattern to the metal and can maintain a sharper edge longer. Come on Loeb... A simple Google search would tell you that.
He writes Jason like every awful Red Hood fan, (which is most of them) leaning into the normal equivocating, vaguely authoritarian justifying rhetoric of, "I do what Batman WON'T and that means it's justified," when we've been through this a million times. I don't care if you're now establishing that Jason's brain is more fried than the Lazarus Pit could heal. If Bruce ever thought that for a second in the years since Jason became the Red Hood and reintegrated with the Batfamily, he would have helped him fix it. He HAS helped him fix it. Maybe read a comic that you didn't write Jeph!
Lee's work here still isn't his best but so far is the best in this arc so that's a positive. That being said, I'm not a fan of this new Riddler design. Why does he look like a SWAT officer? It does nothing to really distinguish him as the Riddler. Just a new appearance to sell a toy that no one will buy because everything is overpriced and cheaply made these days. Thank McFarlane for the low DC quality figures.
Tangent aside, this book feels a lot like those aforementioned figures. Poorly sculpted, cheaply made but thrown to the masses in hopes of a quick nostalgic snatch at your wallet. Nothing of lasting substance. If a Robin dies, it's going to be a symbolic death. Jason will cast off the Red Hood mantle, Damian will transition from his position back to Talia, nothing will happen to Dick. I want to be excited. I want to not dog on a book that means a lot to me as a fan but I want and expect better. Everything is derivative of what came before and original ideas in Big Two superhero comics are few and far between when these characters are pushing 100 years old but don't do this. Don't write a sequel 23 years later.
