#1 NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller
Inspired by Charles Dickens' immortal classic A Christmas Carol, BATMAN: NOEL features different interpretations of The Dark Knight, along with his enemies and allies, in different eras.
Along the way, Batman must come to terms with his past, present and future as he battles villains from the campy 1960s to dark and brooding menaces of today, while exploring what it means to be the hero that he is. Members of Batman's supporting cast enact roles analogous to those from A Christmas Carol, with Robin, Catwoman, Superman, The Joker and more playing roles that will be familiar to anyone who knows Dicken more

If you read at the same pace I did, the dark, brooding tones end after the brawl and the sweeping triumphant stuff kicked in at the appropriate moment. It was lovely.Read more: http://batman-news.com/2011/11/05/batman-noel-review/#ixzz1u716vBTe Read Full Review

If the higher concept of Batman: Noel sounds slightly bizarre to you, well, you're right. It is. But it's a book that is better to experience yourself than to try and sum up in a neat pitch-ready bow. At the end of the day, Noel delivers a Batman tale like none other – and considering the sheer amount of Batman stories out there, that's a feat in and of itself. Read Full Review

(adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});In conclusion, Batman Noel is not an amazing book, but I don't think it's aiming for that. It's an atmospheric redemption tale where Batman learns something, with some great artwork and some well-done cameos. Does it stumble at points? Yes, but it's Christmas, so I'm willing to forgive it. If you've been reading Batman and haven't picked this up, I'd say cozy up to the fireplace and read it. Read Full Review

This masterpiece was my gateway drug...my entrance into the true world of beautiful comic art. No words can describe how beautiful this book is. The art is phenomenal!!! (the story is super too...what a creative parallel to Dickens!) The drawings by Lee B are ALWAYS amazing but I must say that it is Barbara Ciardo's colors that complete the overall all reading experience...she is amazing. Colorists don't get enough credit for the mood they create and express with their carefully chosen palette and if not for her colors my world wouldn't be as excellent as it is. BARBARA ROCKS!!!!!!....God bless her and that fabulous team of artists RIGHT THERE! #1 Buy it, #2. read it, #3 love it....then repeat #2 -#3 Don't forget colorist appreciation more
