Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles

Were more or less at the halfway point of this seven issue mini-series so Snyder and Capullo have plenty of story left to tell, but its nice to see the plan go a bit awry as new players emerge and everything is up for grabs. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Kate Snchez

    Aug 11, 2020

Dark Nights: Death Metal #3continues to offer up deep cuts for DC Comics fans, inventive plot points, and ultimately, Snyder continues to prove how much he understands each character he writes into this large bombastic story. If there is one thing to say about Dark Nights: Death Metal, its that its clear that's its made by creatives who love the characters deeply and this translates when a fan who feels the same picks it up. Truly, as the insanity of Dark Nights: Death Metalkeeps rising, the more I fall in love with it. Read Full Review

Death Metal #3 doesn't shy away from the insanity that has fueled the series so far, but it injects the intrigue and heart the series needs to make sure we all care about the outcome. Read Full Review

Dark Knight News - Steve J Ray

The end of the chapter floored me. How could I forget this character and his influence on the events that led up to this series? Superman is indeed back, but he's not the only one. Dark Nights: Death Metal #3 also finally gives us a glimpse at the Death Metal itself, meaning that, even though we're halfway through this series, things are definitely going to get even more interesting. Weird Science - Jim Werner

    Aug 10, 2020

Death Metal is the big book going at DC Comics right now, and this issue feels like it.  I still am waiting for some big answers, but I can deal with a ton of guest stars in the meantime.  Hopefully, after the planned month off, Snyder and Capullo will really kick things into high gear. Graphic Policy - Brett

    Aug 11, 2020

I'm still not sold on Dark Nights: Death Metal #3 and the series as a whole. I get a feeling I can see the meta at work but won't know until the series wraps up. It really does feel like a final chapter in the New 52 aspect of the DC Universe putting the final nails in that chapter. But, there's still issues to go and a lot of directions the series can take. While the individual issues have had a sense of entertainment, this may be a series to truly judge as a whole instead of its individual parts. Read Full Review

    Newsarama - Justin Partridge

    Aug 11, 2020

Armed with plenty of splashy visuals and a renewed urgency to the narrative, Dark Nights: Death Metal #3 puts the event on solid rails as it barrels toward its surely huge conclusion. Thanks to a keen energy and silly reverence to the weird and wooly world(s) of the DCU, Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion, and FCO Plascencia deliver just the shot in the arm this event needed as it heads into its operatic endgame. Batman-News - Casper Rudolph

    Aug 11, 2020

This is a fun comic. It's action-packed, and it's more focused than the previous issue. But it's also marked by a number of missed opportunities to keep this issue from reaching its full potential. However, the art is amazing, and FCO is the star of the show here. That said, it's like the creative team is still trying to figure out if they want this to be more lighthearted or horror, and I'm hoping that they will have figured that out by the next issue. Nevertheless, I still recommend this comic book, as it's entertaining for sure. Read Full Review

    Aug 14, 2020

There's no denying that this series has been a pretty wild time with a lot of moments that exist just to be cool. But, this issue takes it one step further and applies this approach to pivotal moments, making a lot of this book feel low-stakes and lacking impact. Read Full Review
