This series continues to prove itself issue after issue, and comes into its own while the narrative unfolds and the story continues. While managing to fill the pages with light hearted moments and outright comedic scenes, the down-to-earth moments sell this book as more than just another fun team-up title for children. Lemire creates another beautiful love letter to the Silver Age, and Shaner brings the specific style to fit perfectly within that role. With new each issue drawing in readers, the overall mystery of Tom Strong remains unanswered as the countdown to his arrival continues forward. Read Full Review

The Terrifics #5 is another great entry in this series. Jeff Lemire continues to build and bring this team along incredibly well, giving us great character moments and making the reader actually care about these characters. “Doc” Shaner maybe the perfect artist for this series. The art has always been good in this series but the addition of Shaner has brought it to a new level. He catches the feel and tone of the series superbly well and brings a classic feel to these heroes. If you haven't jumped in on this series, the issue serves as a good starting point, and really, you are the only five issues behind, so no excuse not to grab some back issues and jump on board! Terrifics #5 once again raises the ceiling on how good this book can get. It develops its characters well, establishes more chemistry, and presents a crazy sci-fi plot to test how the four can work together. If you want to just kick back and read a cool book, there are few better choices than The Terrifics. This issue was a bit slower but the characters are all still interesting and the action is a lot of fun. Highly recommend you to go pick it up. Read Full Review

If you've been keeping up with the Terrifics, keep at it with issue #5. If you haven't yet immersed yourself in this new series, it's still early on, but you'll definitely want to check out the previous issues to make the most sense of everything. I'm still recommending it and considering it my favorite of DC's “New Age of Heroes” that spun out of from the depths of the Metal event. Read Full Review

On the paper, this may seem as a typical superhero story, but Lemire and Shaner manage to put so much soul in it, that you don't want it to end. If you haven't read this book yet, do it as soon as you can.

When it comes to The Terrifics, you should already know what to expect from the comic - the name says it all. There's room for character development and personal struggles every protagonist goes through, there's room for fun and humor, and there's room for action. That truly is one of the best comic runs out there right now.

Jeff Lemire delivers again. The story picks up in Stagg mansion with narration broken into four pieces with every member of the team getting one panel each page. I must say I really like this. Each character gets a little spotlight and we get to see what they might be going through. Some family drama for one of them, relationship problems or touchy/sad subject for another. Then we're back to the problems hinted in issue 3. Almost whole town seemingly turning Metamorpho. Just like with the previous issue it's the same here. Evan "Doc" Shaner's art is amazing.

Fun, bright and colorful, but not enough to keep things interesting in the long run. The gimmick which forces the character to be together or else they will die was good for the first few issues, but now the team needs a more powerful reason to stay together, which makes them look heroic and not just excentric. There is not a lot of depth to the characters, which Lemire seems to want to address by focusing on the human element of each chatacter thos issue. Still it's very superficial.

I didn't enjoy this one at all. This was a little long a first and hard to follow when this important that we can. I wasn't interested by Plastic Man phone call or the new Metamorpho/Sapphyr clash. And to we are returned on earth like that without even a little reminder. Cover - Nice, but not like it. But this is in link. 2/2 Writing - That wasn't very good. This kind of look like DC even really care about this brand ! The dog is like this without any explanation and follow the heroes. Don't seems forced at all. 1.5/3 Arts - I didn't like the too much larger panel used for the layout. I understand what they tried to do, but that don't work. But the splash page is really nice. 2/3 Feeling - It wasn't what I expected. And not in a go od way. 0/2 more
