You Don't Read Comics - David Harth
Mar 19, 2022Eternals #10 is more proof that Gillen is one of the best comic writers working today. He juggles the books plots expertly, and his Thanos is the best since Starlin. Ribics art is mostly good, with the Thanos sections being excellent. However, when it gets wonky, its distracting and kind of funny. This is a great comic, though, even with the janky art. Mar 11, 2022Eternals #10 uses the focus of an infiltration mission to flesh out its large cast's personalities while also sowing the seeds for a conflict with the Avengers with Esad Ribic's art ranging from statuesque deities to light comedy. While this is going on, Gillen continues to craft Thanos' arc as he wields moral dilemmas and family trauma as weapons instead of finger snaps and flashy jewelry. Kieron Gillen's take on Thanos is quickly becoming one of my favorites as he continues to add new wrinkles to the usual Big Bad formula. The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler
Mar 09, 2022While Eternals #10 has the Eternals sneaking into Avengers Mountain, it reads more like setup for Marvel's upcoming Judgement event. Not that much happens here, but there are some interesting developments on Thanos' side of things in the story. Also, the comic does set things up for more action between the Eternals and Avengers to look forward to in the next issue. Read Full Review

This book is absolutely great! Slow cooking yet keeps my attention and delivers well. Gillen is doing some nice things with the Eternals. Ribic and Wilson deliver great art that's 99.5% pure joy to look at but those few panels with Carol Danvers's face were so weird and off that I wish I can be there next to Ribic when he spends hours doing the page and it looks so technical and stunning then still mess up a face like that :-). Thanos on the other hand has never looked better!!

Eternals has been one of my favorite on going series from marvel, and this issue is no exception. The Thanos stuff is exciting for fans of the character. This issue will not win over new readers however, its very on brand with everything eternals has been giving us. Its talkie, its punchy, and it juggles a lot of characters and mythology. With all that said, I'm docking all the points based solely on one depiction of Carol Danvers, or should I say Ole grandpa Carl Danvers. Esad is so much better than one panel we get in this book. Lol, I know its probably killing him that it made it to publication. Grandpa Carl for the win.

Finally caught up! This book is so much fun; ribic's art is phenomenal and Gillen is so good at crafting a narrative cerebral enough to digest without extraneous prereq of continuity porn (the two one shots Thanos Rises & Celestia did the exposition weaving extremely well for someone who hasn't read a lot of marvel.) Excited for Judgement Day!

This is a series that understands all of its characters extremely well. This one's a little heavy on the narration but it sells it. Seeing Esad Ribic draw a Winnie the Pooh knockoff is worth the price of admission alone

The Eternals' infiltration story is a bit too slow and catty, but incredible, awesome, fearsome things are happening with Thanos. I wish the latter elevated the former, but I think it's the reverse. The sit-com-y Eternals hold the Thanos developments down and strand this issue just shy of greatness. But only just. The art's formidable as usual, although there are a few goofy faces (the artist's trademark Achilles heel) at the start.
