Jonathan Hickman is easily the most ambitious writer in comics, and he's got the skill to back it up and pull off his big, ballsy ideas. Some might say that he can, at times, be a writer whose reach exceeds his grasp, and time will tell whether that's true here, but Hickman has proven that he deserves my full confidence. So I'm happy to follow him down this magical, winding, cosmic rabbit hole and see where I pop out at the end. This issue was only the tip of the iceberg for what Hickman's got in store and I can't wait to see what's next. Schiti absolutely killed it with the art too.

I don't think I could ever be bored reading a Hickman comic. He has an uncanny ability to completely captivate me with scenes involving nothing more than people talking. Masterclass in writing.

Jonathan Hickman is without a doubt the most ambitious writer in comics who also has the skill to make his big, bold ideas work. It's dense, heady stuff, but it's always well worth your time and money. Valerio Schiti's art is absolutely stunning throughout this whole series. It gave me something beautiful to stare at while I tried to wrap my mind around the concepts Hickman was laying down, which made each issue of G.O.D.S. a long read, but a deeply satisfying one. I will definitely be revisiting this story multiple times in the future. Another masterpiece for the comic industry's current most talented writer.

Kieron Gillen's Immortal X-Men is going to go down as one of my favourite comic runs of all-time. He does such a brilliant job of giving each character a chance to shine and he's got a great voice for each of them. The art has been consistently great from the beginning too. I'd read any X-Men books Gillen writes from now until the end of time.

I fail to understand how people could rate this and other issues of this run a 1 out of 10...the lowest possible score! That would have to mean that the issue has absolutely NO redeeming qualities in it whatsoever. None. Not a solitary panel of artwork, not a single line of dialogue, nothing. People are allowed to dislike a comic, that's the whole point of posting ratings and reviews, but the obvious and consistent review-bombing by a couple childish people is frustrating as hell.
Anyway, rant over. This issue was absolutely incredible, as this whole series has been.

Kieron Gillen single-handedly saved the post-Hickman Krakoan era from being the utter disaster that it very easily could have been. Instead, we got intelligent, gripping, high-stakes stories with clever dialogue. Gillen continues his excellent work here and ensures that we won't be saying goodbye to Krakoa without at least one more well-written story. Wish I could be as enthusiastic about Duggan's Fall of the House of X, but at least we have this to balance things out a bit.

Am I going to love this series as much as Seven to Eternity when all is said and done? Maybe! The fact that I can even answer "maybe" to that question is perhaps the biggest compliment I can give this book. If Remender keeps at this level of quality, then the chances are very good this will rival StE as his best work.
