Cappuccio has a wonderful artistic style and the art has great energy and details throughout. I love the dark, nightmarish imagery a lot and how the character beautifully blends into that darkness. Read Full Review

It was a major blow to Moon Knight's operation when Zodiac destroyed the Midnight Mission, but it was also disappointing for fans who had quickly grown to love the concept. So, what does writer Jed MacKay do? He goes and delivers one of the most original and captivating new headquarters stories I've ever read, and it's perfectly in keeping with Moon Knight's surreal supernatural world. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Jimmy Hayes

This issue really makes the reader feel like they're a part of the story. MacKay pulls you right into the trenches besides Marc, and Cappuccio's art makes sure you know you're not going anywhere in this exciting issue. Highly recommended! Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez

    Mar 02, 2022

Bit and PiecesMoon Knight #9 is a serviceable, stand-alone issue that struggles to re-establish momentum, partly lost from the Devil's Reign tie-in and partly lost due to excessively decompressed storytelling. The art looks great and reads great, but the theme of the story is almost non-existent, and MacKay needs to get something going if he wants to keep readers invested. Read Full Review

I am once again here giving my ridiculously biased opinion and review. This issue is absolutely bonkers and I mean that in the best way possible. The art is fantastic as always with the writing to match. This is shaping up to be one of the best and most essential runs of Moonie's existence. I truly hope the show is this good. I would go more into detail about this issue but I would much rather you buy it and support this fantastic comic.

It's gonna be difficult to Google maps The Midnight mission since its now located in the House of Shadows! Well done to Jed Mckay, he's doing a great job leaning into the idea that Moon Knight exists in his own strange corner of the Marvel Universe that's a intersection of "gritty street-level" and "supernatural horror", and is capable of both bringing in old "forgotten" characters and bringing in new characters and blending them together to build on his story and mythos.

Wow, this was some danny the street, Doom Patrol level insanity here. The art is majestic. Mackay is writing his tuchus off on this run.

This may be my favorite issue so far. The art team continues to do a great job, and McKay continues to exceed expectations. I can see how leaning into the weird/mystical side of Moonkight may be a turn-off for some, but I'm enjoying it. Playing up MK's role as "protector of those who travel by night" is good take on the character, and another way of differentiating him from Batman (always hated that comparison). Including the house of shadows as a character is brilliant idea. Way to pick up a thread from Marvel history and bring it back into the weave. So far, so good. Keep it up.

Uh, yeah, this was fucking dope. I wish I had a ton to say about it, but honestly, I'd just be repeating myself at this point. MacKay gets the character so well, and is able to really make use of these loosely tied one-shots to give us memorable, poignant stories that I can't help but heap praise onto.

The one-shot premise is perfect, as is its execution in storytelling terms. The breadcrumbs pointing to the long-term plot are by no means bad, but they do keep the issue from being a perfect 10/10. I LIKE them, but I recognize they're adding a whisper of dissonance to a phenomenal standalone story. In the past I've lowballed artist Alessandro Cappucio, mainly because I don't like his scratchy shading on the hero. But the masterful visual storytelling on display here (inventive layouts, bold shadows, awesome patterns), makes me admit he's a world-class artist.

Time after time, I just continue to absolutely love this series. The new building for the Midnight Mission is such a weird idea, but it makes complete sense and it's just great. Also, it seems that Dr. Sterman is acting a little weird after her encounter with Zodiac at the end of Issue 7. I'm looking forward to seeing where that part of the plot goes, along with the entire Zodiac storyline goes as a whole.

It's bizarre but, it's very much authentic to Moon Knight. Good, fun story.

I think this was the weakest issue of the run so far but it's still better than the strongest issue from most other series'. I look forward to seeing where Mackay goes from here
