And whats going to happen to Tony, Sinister, and the rogue Eternals? They need to be held accountable. The point is: that Gillen has made an event thats hitting on all cylinders. But Why Tho? - Collier "CJ" Jennings

    Sep 21, 2022

A.X.E.: Judgment Day #5 features awe-inspiring speeches combined with blockbuster-worthy artwork as Marvel's heroes make their last stand. With only one issue remaining, the final fate of the Marvel Universe hangs in the balance. And in my opinion, this is one of the few times where I've felt like the stakes are high enough for a story of this caliber. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - B. Radtz

    Sep 21, 2022

The movement being made feels unconnected from the main story, because the events are being told in the side minis, and tie-ins from the ongoings attached to the event. This, mixed with the character beats that just arent hitting like theyre supposed to makes this issue drag in parts. Hopefully Gillen pulls it together at the end. Id hate to see this story Ive been totally engrossed in for the last year and a half fall flat on its face. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez

    Sep 21, 2022

Final Thoughts:A.X.E.: Judgment Day #5 looks great, sounds big, and feels important. There are plenty of spectacles and human emotion to keep you riveted to the page with every turn. However, the actual plot has barely moved more than a few steps when you consider the heroes' new plan is the same as the old plan. Come for the heart and the visuals, but don't bother if you're looking for a plot that takes up more than a few pages. Read Full Review

This issue was great for me, and it looks like the event only is going to maintain steam from here on out. SPOILERS ..... This issue felt like to me to be the end of Gillen's efforts to characterize the Progenitor for us. He's not a villain like Uranos or Thanos with alotta hard understanding behind how they think and act. For me, he really came into form in the last two issues.

My God Man. What a great time to be reading comics. I hope that if you are reading this event that your getting the whole thing it's absolutely mind blowing. If you can get all kinds of emotions from a reader then that's what a great book is all about and this is it.

This was my favorite issue yet. That was pretty much a perfect comic in my book. I can't believe they fit that much story into one issue. This issue was Powerful, emotional, and Inspirational. The last page reveal was phenomenal as it was very powerful and the right call. It also is a huge step forward that will change the game for the mutants. Simply put the book is an absolutely brilliant one that left me blown away. I absolutely love comic books and issues and stories like this bolster and reinforce that love.

I'll be the first to admit my Marvel Event fatigue, but I'd be lying if a said this event hasn't been good. Gillen's work was great in Eternals and continues here and his particular combination of whimsical, engaging characters, high stakes and personal pathos is a win.

It's one of the most well-crafted, most engaging events I've ever read, and STILL my eyes start to roll when the bodies start piling up. Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying it and I want to see how it ends. But now there's a distinct, disbelief-no-longer-suspended slice of "I wonder what sort of fancy footwork will undo this" feeling alongside my more engaged anticipation.

First of all, none of my issues with this, um, issue, is about death in comics. Death and rebirth in comics is just another plot point, especially in a story about death and rebirth like this one, so let it happen. That's part of the fun here. There's just not much fun here. The event overall, I've found to be very boring. Not for lack of action, action for the sake of action can still be boring. This issue was a bit more interesting than previous, I'm certainly not saying it sucked, it just hasn't made me care about it. The random people it spends time on, only for like 2 pages but it feels like an eternity to read such dull things. I don't usually find Gillen a boring writer, (Die was bloody fantastic!) just this time through. It also more

This has all the plot points to work but I just couldn't get into any of the same plans being done again. It took me a while to figure out why I just couldn't get into this event until I remembered how the Eternals by Gillen worked so well with the machine narrating but this one is narrated by the progenitor. That is the main hold up for me because I could follow the machine's narrative while this progenitor is not suited to be narrating this at all. Some scenes make sense then the next 3 are nonsensical and the rules are there are no rules. Then comes the Cap moment at the end and I have to have someone explain to me how Cap gets out of the egg with his shield in hand? Seriously? Just because it's a made up story doesn't mean it can't have more

I'm not sure what's even going on here anymore. We go back to those people again for no reason. Cap does what Cap always does and tries to appeal to the humanity in the villain, except this villain doesn't have any. So, he and Nightcrawler are killed. Nightcrawler is resurrected (whatever) and doesn't even mention Cap dying. NO ONE DOES. No one seems to give a crap that one of the biggest superheroes on the planet was killed. It's not like no one knew. They were all connected psychically -- everyone on the whole planet. In real life, everyone would have been freaking out. Not here - everyone is like - oh, well we have better things to do. Thor is also killed. This is mentioned once. Then Cap is resurrected when he's not a mutant and there w more
