A decent issue, though I lost a lot of respect for the scientist woman when she didn't realize that Batman and Bruce are the same person. I do like the art resembling Neil Adams.I also love Tim finally going away. He's been so destroyed by previous writers that I just hope they kill him off already. Retiring is just as good I guess. So, maybe some day a writer can return him to what he used to be. more
Batman #6
After he survives the date night from hell, the long night isn't over for Bruce Wayne. While he juggles multiple needs as Bruce, Hugo Strange's Monster Men at- tack a petrochemical facility and force Batman into action. Gotham City becomes a powder keg as superstars Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez continue their acclaimed run on the Caped Crusader...
I'm not jiving with this story arc. It's a lot of text boxes for no reason. When did the king become a magic user? Way too much exposition about these barons, or nobles, or whatever they are. Only for them to be completely inconsequential since Conan took the crown anyway. Usually, he has arcs that end in 3 issues. I think the one I don't like is going to take longer.

Conan The Barbarian #28
The Conquering Crown: The King of Aquilonia has gone mad, or so the rumors say. A tyrant sits upon the throne and all will suffer until he is deposed or dead.
Conan the Mercenary cares nothing for these royal rumors and petty politics, but the Cimmerian's skill in battle is about to put him in the path of a mad monarch, and his life wi...
This is a completely average and disappointing first issue. I was expecting a lot more from Williamson after G.I. Joe and Superman. Just from this issue, I'm getting the feeling he doesn't get Iron Man like he gets those other characters. I'm going to get issue 2 with the hopes that the story will go somewhere other than teachers being geniuses.

Iron Man #1
The unapologetic Iron Man is a once-in-a-lifetime hero - but the beating heart behind the armor is a once-in-a-century genius. Years ago, Tony Stark was knocking on death's door, so he created the Iron Man armor to survive! What happens the next time death comes calling? What weapon does he create then? What if...someone else creates it first? Thes...

Truthfully, I'm not following Absolute Batman. The only reason I bought this issue is because Wonder Woman is in it. I like that she's taller than Batman in this universe. Batman going to Hades to find a remedy for Walon Jones doesn't really lend itself to the character's strength. It should have remained a street-level story with, perhaps, bringing Zatanna in as a Wonder Woman villain. I thought more
Absolute Batman #16
Part two of our Absolute Batman/Absolute Wonder Woman story- Bruce Wayne is on a desperate hunt to help his friend Waylon, now transformed into a monstrous crocodile roaming the sewers, consumed with a deadly hunger. Batman's last option for a cure is to turn to a god for help...but will he have to descend into the depths of hell to get it?
I'm not following DC KO, so I appreciate that this issue continued the storyline with the Dark Legion. I'm not a fan of the Superman robots trope. There's no way that a robot can match the powers or strength of Superman. It makes no sense. I'm also not a fan of Lois having powers. I was glad when she lost them. IT's been three years, when is Zod going to claim his power back?

Superman #34
Darkseid's plan worked! Earth has been transformed into Apokolips. His Dark Legion prepares the Earth for his imminent arrival. If Superman is locked in the tournament, who can stand up and defeat them?
We start with a guy destroying his hand with a hammer. Pretty gruesome. The art is a little sloppy at times. There's way too much ink in this art, which makes it hard to make out faces sometimes. I like that Katrina's daughter has sight, and it is connected to the tree from the movie. I'm not sure how many issues there are, but it's got to be winding down because we already killed most of the huma more
Return to Sleepy Hollow #3
Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow (1999) continues in Return to Sleepy Hollow! Death hangs over Ichabod's and Katrina's heads as they race to put a stop to the suspicious fatalities befalling the residents of Sleepy Hollow. Their investigation turns to the townsfolk, and- everyone is a suspect-from the widowers of the deceased to the local apothecary owne...
A filler issue. I wasn't a big fan of the mob Hulk in this one. I must have missed how Barry lost his powers. I'm also not sure about the science of Hal "pushing" Barry into super speed. That doesn't make any sense, and then on top of that, he is out of his line of sight. So, it wouldn't work. Without Hal putting a shield around him, Barry's body would be ripped apart even if he were able to reach more
Green Lantern #31
Barry Allen is wanted dead or alive, but they'll have to get through Green Lantern first! As Hal continues his investigation into the mysterious (and deadly?) new chapter in the book of Oa, the trail leads to Central City and old pal Barry Allen! The boys in red and green team up to tackle a duo-mystery that will test their trust, their friendship,...
This issue wasn't as good as the others. It was more of a comedic story about the introduction of Roadblock. I love the character except for the Rock's portrayal of him. Overall, this issue was pretty silly. Let's see where it goes from here.

G.I. Joe #18
A STANDALONE NIGHT FORCE COVERT OP! The iconic ROADBLOCK makes his Energon Universe FIRST APPEARANCE...but will he be the newest recruit of Lady Jaye & Flint's Night Force? Or will he join a different group?!
This was a setup issue for sure. We get a whole bunch of unrelated scenes throughout this issue, assuming setting up for the rest of this arc. I do like the team that Veronica Cale put together, and that Zatanna has tapped into her magic, but left her arm intact.

Absolute Wonder Woman #16
The Season of the Witch arc begins here! After her exploits in the Area 41 maze, Diana has resolved to not let her personal mission overwhelm the one she was sent to the surface world to fulfill. But a new threat has emerged in Gateway City, and it turns out the best thing to send to kill Wonder Woman is...another witch! Zatanna is here, and Diana'...
I am so sad this title is ending. It was a press of logic to see the Quietman take on three armed men simultaneously. Damian's argument that the Quiet Man is similar to Bruce was an inter. It's good to see someone take Scarface seriously. He's written as a serious threat. I'm looking foward to seeing how this closes up.

Batman and Robin #29
Arnold Wesker had been thought cured-he'd left the Ventriloquist moniker behind and started a new life. But now his ol' pal Scarface is back, and he's pulling Wesker's strings once again. Meanwhile, Batman and Robin find themselves at odds over how to handle the recently apprehended Quiet Man, who may have more in common with Batman than it seems. ...
I'm sure what Greg Pak is doing here. I think he believes this show is a comedy. Abbott and Costello meets Supernatural. His take is not really working. I believe this is a limited series. I'll stick with it to issue 6, but this is a very average series with not a whole lot going for it. The stories are paper-thin, and he doesn't understand the car's link to Dean. I'm not sure if he's ever actuall more

READING IS DETRIMENTAL - I MEAN, FUNDAMENTAL!
The denouement of last issue's adventure in the woods leads the Winchester Brothers to the local library, which turns out to be more haunted than a graveyard built on top of another graveyard. But after some back-and-forth with the screaming spirits, Sam and Dean are able to ascertain that ...
I'm glad Palmiotti likes Misty Knight. We don't get to see her enough. Though I thought she always knew Matt's identity. I had a hard time with that, but the fight scene was good. Overall, it felt like a setup issue for Matt to make a meetin gwith the Punisher. not sure how many issues this is.

Daredevil / Punisher: The Devil's Trigger #3
Spurred by the power vacuum left by the absent GNUCCI CRIME FAMILY, an unprecedented crime wave has flooded the streets of New York! Left to face the rising violence and vitriol, DAREDEVIL and THE PUNISHER will have to put aside their differences to keep the criminals of New York from consuming it altogether!
I'm not sure how you screw up Tomb Raider. One of the easiest characters in the world to write. Yet Casey found a way. Don't underestimate hack writers. This book has all of about 4 pages in a tomb where she confronts a ninja. The rest of it is all talkity talk talk since Lara has an interview with a reporter. No joke. Well it is a joke and that's the sad part. I know I read a tomb raider comic to more

I dropped off Aquaman months ago. He's one of my favorite characters and though I love Jeremy this was too much of a deviation from the character for me. He did finally shave the beard, so I appreciate that. I'm not liking that Aquaman stole Mera's powers. She is my favorite female character next to Wonder Woman and how did she get stuck back in Xebel. I must have missed something. The last time I more

As Arthur continues to duke it out in the major DC K.O. event, the hidden kingdom of Atlantis at last emerges! But all is not well, and Queen Mera finds herself face-to-face with the deadliest foe to attack their fair kingdom yet! New threats, new drama, a trip to the throne of Kahndaq, and the return of Black Manta!
We have some good action here, and I like Billy sharing his power with Clark. However, in the end, I just don't care. I am just over these events, and one simply about people in a gladiatorial arena just doesn't do it for me. I already saw that in Secret Wars years ago. They just need to stop doing these events. I know it's a way to bring in the Absolute books, but it feels like just a stunt rathe more

Emotions run high as heroes falter, villains revel, and the Heart of Apokolips eyes its new King Omega. In the end, only the final four will remain...
What a great ending to this arc. I liked Cobra Commander turning the tides, simply by offering money and a partnership. Destro finally deciding that Cobra Commander was needed for Cobra to be successful. I was wondering all of this time where Zartan had gone and boom, he finally shows up. Good stuff.

The birth of a reluctant villain in this issue. Not sure how the kids survived and suddenly popenly popped to corporate headquarters, but...okay. Otherwise, I thought the issue was pretty good. I'm looking forward to the conclusion.

The art of this is great, but it does take the story in a completely different direction. I only read Redcoat intermitantly so I had no idea who the Northerner was. I know that Geiger is an apocolypitic series, but it turned into complete sci-fi with the introduction of time travel and "drops" from some unnamed organization. I did chuckle at the last page, but the Northerner is now Sarah Conner tr more

THE NORTHERNER: DEAD AMERICA, PART 1. After the explosive finale of REDCOAT: THE NORTHERNER, the mysterious Union soldier finds himself face to face with Tariq Geiger in the radioactive future. But is he here to help...or to change everything? The next era of GEIGER begins here.
This issue is more about the civilians and the families than it is about the killers. I don't quite understand the rules. They introduced the rule that the killer has to be using the weapon they started with to win. This info dump should not have beenin issue 9, but in issue 2. I know a lot of people love this. I think it's very average.
