You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
May 06, 2026As cool as they were back in the 1940s, this particular group of heroes has been old for a really long time. And so it's so much of what it is that they've been presented as over the years is just a very old group of superheroes who have to deal with being old. The repetition of this can feel very old as well. However, the right creative team can make it feel really fresh. DC has a really good creative mix to handle the team as the series progresses. Quiet, personal moments don’t have the most room to breathe, but they’re welcome respites from what promises to be an explosive story arc as the past decides what about the present is worth preserving, and which parts deserve punishment.
