I have always loved Doom. His power, brilliance and arrogance are intriguing. Doom 2099 was pretty good and this book by Tieri and Randal is another in that line. The story itself is simple. Doom has won,having killed everything on the planet. The world is just Doom and the Doombots who help him try to undo what he's done via time travel. Doom finds he's unable to reverse it and instead looks t o Ultron. Thats the whole story in this one shot. Its basic and it's perhaps the only thing bad about it. Anyone will have seen the twist coming from 5 miles away when you read 4-5 pages in.Its also the first line in the Solicit. The art is very good and Randal did beautiful work. Overall it's an easy read, it's fun and beautiful to look at. On a 5th week where most of the comics releases are pure garbage ,this one is an easy recommend. more

I can’t believe I’m enjoying a firestorm book this much.
And how much better this is compared to absolute flash and jsa.

It's still excellent. Just a step back compared to the previous issue, but it's necessary to better understand Ronnie and Stein. Lemire's writing is captivating and the art is beautiful. The last page is also very interesting, and I think taking J'onn J'onzz isn't a good idea 😅.

But I'm excited for the next issues. it has a lot of potential and i trust lemire.

In this Lemire has trounced his current JLA run. This is the most vital Lemire has felt in the superhero genre in a very long time.

I like that there is a mystery to solve. Feels more like a Batman story.
And I liked the use of the cape. Even though I don’t know where working class Bruce Wayne gets his resources from.

I stopped because PJK dropped the ball on pacing and general storytelling. Did it get better?

Been a long wait.

This issue is a must-have for any SWAMP THING fan past or present, as well as collectors of milestone issues. It’s a beautifully told story of Swampy’s time-traveling encounter with Jesus, his disciples, and the Romans, culminating in the Crucifixion. There’s a wonderful essay included in the issue by Stephen Bissette that gives proper background and context to the series in 1989, along with a loo k at the cultural underpinnings taking place that year in entertainment and politics that DC was being influenced by in terms of their decision to cancel the publication of issue 88. It’s easy to see some of those same turbulent political and cultural forces still in play here in 2026, which makes DC’s decision to finally publish the issue very commendable.

What’s especially cool about the issue to this 47-year comic collector is that the issue features both the original DC house ads from May 1988 as well as a nifty “Johnny DC” column, done in the style of the original columns DC featured at the time, right down to that week’s checklist of May 1988 issues.

From the amazing story and script to the beautiful art, colors and lettering, this book is worthy of your attention and your dollars. Better late than never!more

I liked this issue a lot. Even with the cover, the ending surprised me.

This is still a padded comic with not much story progression.
But it’s the most I’ve enjoyed the series since the beginning.
