Sorry for the score of 1 as I absolutely loved this original series right up until the end. It was rushed , lazy and crammed into an extremely dull last 2 issues. If I was a betting man , I would say she got the sack from Boom for delays because of Marvel commitments. Such a shame when it had all the hall marks of a wonderful series........JM
Grim #25
It's the final chapter of the critically acclaimed, supernatural horror series!
In the stunning series finale, Jess and Marcel reunite one last time-this time on opposite sides of life and death. On the precipice of what comes next, their bittersweet encounter becomes a reflection on their past, present, and future.

Like all true fans , I love a little nostalgia but unfortunately the dialogue at times reminds me more of the bad parts of the 90's. Visually this is an absolute triumph in design and story led structure and with a little more care in the dialogue, this really could be on every pull list. As a nod to my past I'm going to give it a 10 as in the end The Darkness says so.........JM
The Darkness #1
In a world consumed by shadows...one man becomes The Darkness. Jackie Estacado is back! Thrust into a supernatural war between the dark and the light in a no-holds-barred adventure where the edge of our reality grinds against supernatural forces grappling for control over each other and the waking world.
Mafia Hitman Jackie Estacado wa...
In all my many years as a Hulk fan and comic geek , I've never come across a story so nonsensical in all my life. The art was crap coloured by numbers and the pacing was horrific. My candidate for the worst Marvel no1 of 2025.......JM
Infernal Hulk #1
INCREDIBLE...IMMORTAL...INFERNAL! The evil known as Eldest has literally torn Bruce Banner and the Hulk apart and taken the Hulk's body as their own. This new, unstoppable Infernal Hulk is ten times the monster that everyone always feared Hulk would be. Their diabolical plan is to plunge the world back into ancient horrors by transforming our heroe...
The story itself isn't all that original and the dialogue at times is a little stiff but mostly acceptable. Where this book seriously shines is in the sumptuous art and stunning colour panels. Totally breathtaking by David Fich and worth the cover price alone......JM
Skinbreaker #1
SERIES PREMIERE FOR FANS OF INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE: BATTLE BEAST COMES YOUR NEW FAVORITE SERIES! The dream team of ROBERT KIRKMAN (THE WALKING DEAD, INVINCIBLE) and superstar artist DAVID FINCH (Batman, New Avengers) present a visionary action epic unlike anything you've ever seen. Enor has led his tribe for many seasons, but his time as Chieftan is c...
In truth this conclusion was probably the weakest of the mini series. The art and style were spot on but the ending was a little weak. To judge a book fairly on it's own I would say going forward this book ticks a whole lot of boxes. Like the writer said......the last word as always is the audience and I will be back for more next year.....JM
Gehenna Naked Aggression #4
MINISERIES FINALE
Gehenna is stalked across Chicago by MULTIPLE hired killers! Will it all come down to a shootout? A knife fight? Or old-fashioned hand-to-hand? ALL OF THE ABOVE!
Okay I am biased as The Punisher is up there with the greatest characters period. Frank is my hero and that made me nervous reading this. Cool start with awesome visuals layered with an outstanding inner monologue. This is my kind of Frank Castle and who doesn't love Kingpin.
This is off to a great start but im a little confused by the red banner and plastic bag by Marvel. For some reason a

Punisher: Red Band #1
FRANK IS BACK! Reread and reload, True Believers - Frank Castle is BACK. With no memories, a full clip and a thirst for wrathful vengeance, his violent search for answers could only be chronicled in a Red Band series! Bullets will fly, blood will flow, and the citizens and criminals of New York City alike will fear the name THE PUNISHER! From the s...
The best stories sometimes come when you least expect them. This supernatural story ticks all the expected box's but adds in layers of witty on point writing coupled with delicious art that tells the story perfectly.........JM
It Killed Everyone But Me #1
In the summer of 1996, Sutton Reed had it all. A popular teenage girl with amazing friends, a loving family, and a bright future. But it all came crashing down over one mysterious weekend that saw her friends brutally murdered and left Sutton as the sole survivor of the legendary Riverton Massacre. Now, three decades later, the death and disappeara...
This kind of story isn't really a story at all but a homage to great art and wonderful subtle scripting. If there's a fault in the story , its probably to short as I'm seldom finished by the last page. This kind of story could sit in any decade since the 80's and be relevant........JM
Gehenna Naked Aggression #3
Gehenna has taken on every type of lowlife killer there is, but not until now has she had to shoot a superhero! A do-gooder puts his nose in her business-and gets it blown off.
The story itself confused me enormously as he says it's supposed to be fast , fun and mindless action but when you delve deeper into the story there seems to be hidden gems scattered everywhere and the sexual content really plays into the over the top action perfectly. I'm intrigued to see where this eventually goes but I suspect I'm going to enjoy the journey.......JM
Gehenna Naked Aggression #2
Isa-bubbly, fun, and a deadly enforcer for a crimeboss-is hot on the tail of Gehenna. Shootouts, tussles with cops, and even a building-leveling explosion don't prepare Gehenna for a battle with the masked vigilante Public Defender! Literally nonstop action!
I found this wonderful little gem by chance and not going to lie but this is one of the best crime stories on the shelves. Words hit har long and heavy and the art takes your breath away with it simple but wonderful use of images and colour. Tis is thought provoking on many intellectual levels and never feels false or rushed............JM
Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring #1
It's been eight long years since a bloodlusting brown bear drove into the city, kidnapped a kind young duck, dissected his body, and buried the pieces in the woods. The duck's family painstakingly sought justice... but this brown bear was smart... she covered her tracks... and in the '80s, there simply wasn't a way for the duck's family to find ans...
In an age of drab fluff comics that are painting by numbers , Geheena stands completely apart from the crowd. Fast paced , sexy , violent , disturbing and above all completely compelling. The visuals alone are worth your hard earned but the story stands head and shoulders above even that. I heard every word like it was live action and at the end I was cursing that there wasn't more. Outstanding st more

There's a contract out on Gehenna. But she's managed to stay alive long enough that the contract has been resold several times as consolidated debt between criminal organizations. Now she intends to put a stop to the chain of custody on that contract. With a bullet.Series creators PATRICK KINDLON (FRONTIERSMAN) and MARCO F...
Art and style wise this was great but it was really let down with very sparce wording which let all the story be led visually. Im not for or against this type of storytelling but I prefer it when the artist and writer are on the same page. This is in no way a totally negative review as I really did enjoy the art. Hopefully more story will appear in the next issue.......JM

Writer CHRIS CONDON (THAT TEXAS BLOOD, Ultimate Wolverine) teams with visionary artist JEFFREY ALAN LOVE (The Last Battle at the End of the World, The Thousand Demon Tree) for a thrillingly dark sci-fi horror story unlike any you've seen before!

Walking with the mind of John is an experience that wakes the senses between real and dream. The art is stunning and the inner monologue feels real with thoughts of regret unsaid. World class is all i can say........JM
Absolute Martian Manhunter #3
It's a trip through the psychosphere of Middleton as newly-minted partnersJohn Jones and the Martian follow the trail of whoever-or whatever-isresponsible for the surprising, destructive behavior of people all across thecity-and the world!
As a character Sherlee just oozes charisma. Her and Teddy T bring a dynamic new and extremely twist slant on Hell. To say the art is exquisite is the understatement of the year as panel after panel brings Sherlee and Hell to life in ways that make each page an absolute joy.......JM
The Curse Of Sherlee Johnson #1

The suspense of the script along with truly outstanding art and colours makes this one of the best comics of its type on the shelves just now. There is some wonderful little plot threads that keep everything rolling along wonderfully. Seriously looking forward to next issue....JM
Geiger #14
Ghost Machine's radioactive renegade faces his most perilous challenge yet as he confronts the devastating chaos brewing in Lewistown, Montana. With his powers spiraling out of control, Tariq must fight to protect himself, his allies, and the innocent lives at stake. But salvation might only come with the unexpected aid of...The Glowing Woman.
Not a Superman in sight and I absolutely and utterly loved it. The art alone was worth the price but the retelling of the origin of Braniac was glorious.
This is horror on a level way above the mainstream just now and is totally deserving his own on going series.
I always hate the silver age Brainiac when I was young but this version is a standalone hit.......my comic of the year so far

Buthe operates out of a seedy lair, packed with bottled cities...cities he torturesrelentlessly, just to hear the faint chorus of screams. Who is the mysteriousBrainiac? And why is he so interested in the Last Son of Krypton?
No spoilers........
The story about time is beautifully crafted and leaves one hell of a cliff hanger. Jessica is changing and the lessons of The End and Original Sin brings futures to an uncertain past......outstanding......JM
Grim #22
Jess finds herself off-balance and uncertain as a wave of emotions threatens even her immense ability to suppress them.
But just who exactly is she falling in love with, and what secrets do they hold about Annabel and Adira?
This is a far better story on the surface than the one we got. In parts the art was great and in parts the story was fantastic. In truth it really could have done with an extra issue and a better editor to resolve a few of the loose threads. Shame really as I had high hopes for this and the concept......JM
String #5
Being kidnapped is a major problem. Getting taken to a second location is a worse problem. Having the kidnapper be someone who's already killed several other people, and who can easily get away with another murder? Yeah, that's a definite complication. Also, ice cream, and Luke NOT reuniting with an old flame, and an unexpected liaison, and Joon de...
This beautiful psychedelic trip set in the Absolute universe continues.
Love it. This character hasn't felt this relevant in years.
Deniz Camp's star continues to rise, despite people unfairly turning on his wonderful Ultimate run.
The man might have the best new IP in years with Assorted Crisis Events. Watching his career boom has been a pleasure to see.

IS THIS ALL JUST THOUGHTSMOKE? The other-dimensional alien consciousness calling itself the Martian continues its invasion--and transformation--of John Jones' mind! The by-the-book FBI agent has been drafted into a cosmic war that will make him question the nature of reality and test his belief in good, evil, and free will! The weirdest hero of the...
Amazing. Probably the finest second issue of an amazing book that I've ever read. It takes everything I loved about the first issue and moves it forward with exciting new developments, both in terms of plot and character. This is proving to be a book that I want to re-read immediately after I finish it. It definitely leaves you wanting more, and it also stimulates your imagination to ponder wha more
