    Nerd Initiative - ShawnFoles

Ultimately, the creative team crafted an outstanding opening first issue for a brand new comic. Harms, Mavinga, Loughridge, and Dukeshire are crafting a post apocalyptic world that contains the elements you are familiar with while bringing something new to the table. The big reveal of the main antagonists and their interaction with Violet shows the power of synergy between great writing and great art. I can’t wait to pickup up the next issue and see where the team takes it from here. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

Harns firmly establishes a basic mood and tone for the series in the first issue. There isn't a whole lot of detail being delivered about exactly what it was that happened and exactly how it was that it happened. There's a lot of mystery flurrying around the page it's father and daughter struggle for the basic elements of survival limits snow and rain and a whole lot of desolation. I'll be emotional impact of the first issue really feels like it could be going somewhere. There's a powerful haunting sense of the supernatural that also sets in around the edges of everything. White Sky #1 is a great kickoff to this series and really sets the tone for what’s to come. The mysterious nature of the story makes the reader want to learn more about this world and keep them on the edge of their seats with anticipation. The writing is fantastic and the artwork is amazing. This is a different kind of story and that shines through in this first issue. This book is a must get at the LCS this week and is also a slam dunk add to your Pull List as well. Read Full Review

Mavinga creates some beautiful imagery throughout the issue. With the exception of the first few pages, the art focuses primarily on the characters with the background fading away and that works, but I want to see more of this world. Read Full Review

While the first pages immediately feel familiar, we start to see some fresh concepts before the halfway point, and those concepts really hit their stride in the issue’s final few pages. That’s when the ghostly elements step out into view, and once they appear, the series starts to change in intensity and scale in a massive way. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Theron Couch

    Feb 15, 2026

White Sky #1 is recognizable but different enough to not be derivative. There are no zombies, for instance. Harms’ economical writing makes David and Violet engaging characters while the art team creates a compelling world around them that tells part of the bigger story. White Sky #1 delivers a great story for fans of the supernatural and post-apocalyptic fiction. Read Full Review

Super generic post apocalypse with a slight horror slant. Way too little dialogue for how mediocre the art is.
