Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Apr 08, 2026This book is just as bleak and hopeless in places as other zombie thrillers, but it has something that none of them has. It paints this conflict not as a simple story of predators hunting prey, but as a world where two groups whose survival might be incompatible are coexisting. And that’s so relatable that it might be even scarier. Read Full Review

Apr 08, 2026Vertigo has been a home run since its relaunch, and Bleeding Hearts #3 has some of the best creatives in comics operating with a creative confidence that’s a joy to read. It’s a heartbreaking story of trust and communication between two parties that both desperately want the same thing, but can’t do it through anything besides action. It’s gorgeously brought to life, it’s frantically paced, and tinging with heartache and thought-provoking questions. I cannot recommend this book enough. Read Full Review

I didn't think this was as good as the previous issue, but it's still a really good read. Something I just noticed while reading this, that I think is an incredibly interesting and great concept, is having the lettering be styled different between the zombie and the humans. It was easy to overlook with the first issue being primarily focused on the former and the second issue being primarily focused on the latter. However, now that the two sides get around an even amount of focus, each, here, it's a lot more noticeable. I especially like that distinction when you consider that it's shown that the zombies and the humans are either speaking different languages from one another or are just unable to understand each other, with everything being more

The Zombie Council was kind of interesting, if a little on the nose. Besides that, I really don’t think this added too much to the previous two issues and like most Deniz Camp comics, the characters are just really not that engaging.
