A solid first issue carried by the art. Script could have been tighter.

There are still things about the setup that I don't like. But The last two issues have been better for me. This issue specifically reminds me of Snyders Black Mirror story.

As much as I don't want to like it because I don't like the design of Batman, and I don't like the setup of the childhood friends, the rest is pretty great.

They had me at Marcos Martin. Top tier artist. Story is good too. I still don't like the childhood friend group approach with the rogues, but it is what it is.

I preferred last issue. It also seemed like a page was missing between the Harvey dent pages and the riddler pages.

I am happy this out there for the people that love it. I find the story just ok. I prefer both the current runs on Batman and Detective to this run. This just doesn't feel like Batman or the Joker to me. My favorite issue of this run was the Bane origin issue. Because it still felt like Bane. Not a new creation.

Love the art. Story is very predictable Snyder approach. Still good and enjoyable.

I still don't get the high reviews for this series.

Solid. Not great but solid.

And here it is. The comic I've been looking forward to the most since they launched absolute. I like it. Do I like it as much as flash 1 by Mike Baron from 1987? No. Because that book was a 10 and still is one of the greatest comics ever. This was never going to live up to my expectations. I will stick with this as I prefer pre dad energy Wally West. Broadly speaking, the main dcu wally west hero's journey feels like it's over. So it begins again with a different vision of what that journey looks like without his mentor. Frankly it may be time for the current DCU to go the way of earth 2 re: Adventure Comics from the late 1970s. And let absolute take over as main continuity.

My only complaint is that it has a bit of a wait for the trade feel to it.

My favorite issue of the run so far.

Writing in this one is top notch. Very well paced issue, probably best so far in that regard. Art is pretty good, bringing down rating a little.

It's a sold issue.definitely adds to the mystery of it.

I really liked this issue. Just felt like the art could have fit the story better. It needed more of an ominous tone on the quieter pages.

I wish i loved this series the way i love absolute Superman. 5 bucks a month is a lot for this glacial pace storytelling. But I like the art and story ideas. Execution could be better.

I haven't been loving this series. But this issue killed it. Great pacing and great art.

It's pretty good. The art isn't really for me and the story didn't really grab me. But I have a lot of faith in Al Ewing.

The bottom of the absolute titles for me. From a writer I really like. It would be better if they had just left Hal Jordan out of this, he's so far out of character. I like Jo though.

This will hopefully get a hard cover when all done and kept in print as a perennial book. It's that good.

My bet is that this Ras Al Ghul is actually Vandal Savage. The character seems much closer to Vandal Savage. He is the demons head in the absolute universe.

My favorite book.

I would rate this higher but felt like the sequential story telling, specifically on page 9, didn't make any sense. The peacemaker in the robotic war suit grabs Superman in battle with Ras. When Ras is about to hit him with the sword. Ras isn't even in the next panel when he's grabbed. It looks weird and is confusing.

My favorite book continues to crush it

I've been a bit of a wait and see on the Absolute line because I don't trust DC to not screw it up. They've been screwing these things up since immediately post crisis (Now I feel old). I picked up and read the first four issues of this today. This is great and a nice change from the legacy DC titles which have become overly focused on everyone's extended family. the bat family. Super family. Wonder family. Flash family. Whatever the mess of characters Green lantern is. All of those legacy books have lost focus on their core characters and for me are lesser for it. So I will go to absolute for the focus on the core characters (and will ignore Snyders card game scene in issue 2 of absolute Batman which made me want to go blind). I will also go to this as I prefer the overall approach to the art versus what I'm seeing in JLU, Batman, Superman, and worlds finest. I realize people like the artists on those books but for me it all looks the same - fast paced with very limited sequential storytelling. Very Jim Lee influenced style, who I've never really been a fan of. Personal preference. I'm "all in" on the absolute titles until they start crossing over with the main universe, change the creative teams, or start forcing alignment with the legacy universe. I don't want that flash of two worlds until absolute flash 123. But doubt they will wait that long. Pretty impressive that Batman is probably third best of this launch.

This issue was pretty good. Probably my least favorite so far. Art is still amazing. Script seemed a little messy.

I thought this issue was ok. Pacing or sequential storytelling felt off. Something was off.

A perfect issue. And the best to date.

Feels like this and the next issue would have been a great done in one back in the day. Because this issue is repetitive, to pad it out to two issues.

Good book. And nice to see a conclusion to the best modern Superman run.

The story in this one is a 10. It's great that PKJ was able to finish his story from action comics. The art brings it down to a 9. It's just not to my taste.

I don't have a lot of expectations of an aquaman book because I'm not a long time reader of the character. For me this is a very good book.

Well executed. But unoriginal. And a step down from the prior issue. I may misunderstand what "assorted crisis events" is about. Will see if I continue reading this.

Prior issues was pretty good. Not great but I enjoyed it. Everything in this issue feels rushed and almost incoherent. A 5.0 is generous.

I'm glad it's finally over. And will be skipping hush 2 so will stick with the other bat books for now.

Close to perfect first issue.

It's a solid old school issue.

For me this is the best issue so far. It is written very old school. Very early 80s Batman with many small subplots going on at once. Jimenez nails the small moments so well.

Loving this old school storytelling. This needs to be read in single issues. Not a trade read. This may read worse In a collection. And I like the homage to the introduction of Scarface... Minotaur done very similar. People may say Batman is dumb for not knowing about the Minotaur before, but Fraction isn't writing the perfect Batman. This is much closer to a pre crisis approach to Batman.

I enjoyed this. Jimenez is on fire and I like the story focus on Bruce Wayne. And I like the fun cliffhanger.

Wait Beaumont lives because she was impersonated by clayface and the worlds greatest detective didn't realize it? Eh.

My favorite writer of all time returns for a fun team up comic. Thank you Grant Morrison and hope to see more from you.

This one felt a little rushed to me. Still over the series.

I don't like the change in artist (too different from regular artist) and Damian is very different from what I remember. And it's progressing slow (we are 5 issues in to this story but that's just modern comics). But I do like it. I liked the Bruce Jason conversation and some of the horrific drug induced imagery.

One of the better issues in this story, if not the best.

This is a tough book to rate. Would be a 10 if Damian was written more in character.

As an issue I like this and I really like the art, but feel like by part 8 of a storyline there should be more forward progression.

Overall this arc could have been tighter and more consistent. And Damian at times has seemed out of character. But this is a great issue. And better than anything we've seen in the main Batman title in a long time. Looking forward to the finale.

Mediocre final issue of a long story. This just isn't one of the better current Batman stories. Check out the other Batman and Robin series by Waid and Dark Patterns by Watters for great Batman stories. Money better spent.

PJK took too long with the last arc. The way he wrote this issue feels like he will do the same with this arc. The issue was totally fine. But not as good as Batman, Detective, Dark Patterns or Batman and Robin year One. Nothing in this issue that says I have to pick up the next issue. Which is how I like my comics to work. I'm out.

Just finished reading the collection of this story. Very well written and illustrated. A great companion to Superman space age.

Not my favorite issue of the run so far but it's still my favorite current Batman comic.

With credit given to absolute Batman and all other Batman titles, this is what I want from a Batman book. I would buy this forever.

Definitely things I loved about this. And it definitely subverted by expectations.

It's like a totally different Dan Wattsrs is writing this versis nightwing. They should give this Dan Watters the Detective Comics titles.

This is the creative team that should be working on Detective Comics.

Just finished the trade collection. I liked this a lot! Aaron and Mahnke are good team.

I just don't feel like this is a well told story. And wonder if this is how Loeb always wrote.

Releasing this at the same time as the waid samnee book was a mistake. This issue felt like it belonged in that story. This book is best when it focuses on Batman and robin, like in this issue. The rest of the book isn't very good.

This is an artist showcase series. Nothing more. After 8 issues if you asked me to explain the story to you I would not be able to.

I am willing to give this a chance. On the sliding time scale: I've read through Crises, a few year ones, an emerald dawn, a secret origin, a birthright.... I think I can get over it. If they fix the coloring and find the right balance in the storytelling.

Good book. Slow boil. Hoping it will boil over into greatness.

I'm going to continue to read this because I feel like it has a lot of potential. Story is pretty good. But a lot of potential. The art was definitely inconsistent this issue. Some pages look amazing. Others ok. I thought there were two artists working on this book. But Valerio schiti is laboring some pages come off as very rushed.

I like this issue. Still feel like the art looks rushed in some parts. Almost looks like a different artist is doing the Steve Rogers pages. The Colton pages just look more finished. And just better. Odd.

Definitely my favorite issue of the run so far. This book has been a pleasant surprise for me. I disliked Zdarkys Batman and was going to skip this, and I'm glad I didn't. Also. Important to say that I appreciated how it was a 5 issue initial arc and not 12.

This series is really the best marvel has had to offer in a while.

I don't remember the last time I enjoyed a daredevil comic this much. Probably not since Waid. I read some of the Soule run but didn't love it. I like Zdarsky but didn't love the run. And I've never been a Mcniven fan. Perhaps I set my expectations low, because this blew me away.

Difficult one to review. The Adam strange story is close to a 10. Don't know who Patrick horvath is but that story is great. Batman story is ok. Love the art by FF but pacing is off and it's too short.

I wasn't going to buy this because I'm not reading KO, and I'm not a Williamson reader. But I did. And it's awesome.

Fun comic and I'm not a Williamson fan. Art is incredible. I liked the twist of approach with Jason.

And next issue we get "for the Batman who has everything", the retelling of Alan Moore's classic Superman story. And I'm ok with that. I enjoyed that I was surprised with the Damian approach. I thought it would be the Morrison Damian 666 Batman.

It's an ok issue. DC is really padding a lot of stories these days. It would be nice if the writers respected the customers wallets a little more but it is what it is.

Can we hope for Al Ewing after Matt fraction? This is one retro fun comic. Would have been a 10 but art off in some spots.

I liked this issue. Art was odd. Some pages great. Others serviceable. Not everyone can make dialogue look interesting.

Pretty good. The third or fourth best Bat book right now.

Overall a solid anniversary issue. The Watters story was very 90s Batman. Which isn't a bad thing.

Just really digging this story. Yes it's a slow burn but it works for this kind of story. My guess is Batman is close to losing his fear and we are going to see some crazy shit very soon. Probably next issue.

Continues to be my favorite marvel book, carried by the writing and Done in one format. Art is good, but I still don't think they've found the perfect artist for this book.

This would be higher if the art was better. It's not bad but needed someone like Kevin McGuire on the faces.

It's a 9 and not a 10 because I feel like the art on this book still doesn't serve the script the best. Writing is a 10.

Not a good issue by North. And I generally like his FF. This one world under doom event feels very phoned in. And I don't think each member of the FF becomes dumb, even if they are losing their powers.

It's definitely better than the poorly executed Emperor Doom story.

I've finally read this. Difficult to rate this, other than I don't like it and it's not a story I ever wanted to read, which doesn't mean it's poorly written or illustrated. It's a companion to Superman space age and Batman dark age. But those work much better, perhaps because the approach works for those characters. But yeah I don't like it and don't recommend it.

It's marvel's FF with the flash characters. Wally is the focus of this as much as Reed would be in an FF story (note not Fantastic Four but FF). If you like that then you will like this. I don't know why they are doing this with the flash title and Wally west, but it's clearly what DC has wanted for decades now. But The execution doesn't acknowledge Wally's childhood quality, which it should as raising children can bring one's own childhood to the surface. Which would be interesting. But perhaps the creators and editors haven't read those stories. Looking forward to absolute flash.

Much better than the last issue. But This will be a seriously polarizing issue. I appreciate spurrier because he tries different things. And I feel like the art fits the book and what he is trying. The villain appears absurdly out of character until you get to the last few pages. Then it's just bizarre and I like that. But some will hate the tone and everything about this.

One of the best issues in the run. Still not perfect. Can't help saying that we appear to be in the late stage of the current version of the DCU. The Flash is the title that signals this the most through DC history. The young man who was Wally West who was not a very nice person has turned into a family man and leads the fantastic flash four and shares the stage with them all. Feels like the narrative end for the character that transported a transplant heart in exchange for healthcare. very late in the narrative now... At least his end state was better than what the pre crisis Barry got... but I guess DC still has time to kill everybody. Absolute is perhaps the stealth reboot hiding in plain sight. If only Absolute Batman was better.

This is one frustrating comic. Panels of awesomeness. Tonal shifts that make it fall apart at times. While entertaining, the stuff with Warlord's bridge just doesn't fit into the story being told. Some awesome ideas like eclipso trying to fill the darkseid void, foxy the infant cosmos, flash splitting himself with both not being enough.

Spurrier insanity that is still comprehensible is the best Spurrier. This is why DC chose him to write the Flash. Best issue in a while, partially due to that it focuses on Wally (supporting cast has just become to cumbersome). If only this title was more consistent it wouldn't have lost so many readers. But for Flash fan this feels like a must read.

I guess no one is reading this anymore! Or no one is reviewing it! It's an okay issue in a story that I am enjoying. I still don't buy Wally west as reed Richards. Which is how this reads for me.

Difficult to review, because this book summarizes everything that both worked and didn't work about the run. thank you to Si Spurrier for trying something different with s character I love, but have grown tired of because of repetitive rinse and repeat stories. Because you can love and character and be tired of them because "both can be true". For everyone that hated it, you will get more stories of Flash chasing rogues in Central City. I may or may not be back after KO.

I'd prefer more Reckless.

My expectations of this were too high. But I still enjoyed it. MJ, black cat, spidey triangle at peak. Godzilla versus venom. Amazing art. Good script. Ok story.

Isn't the point of having a separate Green Lantern Corps book to have this be a Hal Jordan book?

This is a great issue. I think I prefer there to be just one green lantern. I've grown tired of the green lantern corps and the spectrum. It's too bad this isn't the absolute book.

Great end to a strange experiment by DC. I question the format and distribution schedule. I think I even missed a few issues... but really enjoyed this one. It was fun to read a green lantern book that I enjoyed.

I didn't like this as much as the prior issues.

Not my favorite issue but still better than 90% of what's on the stands.

It's ok. I Have to go back and reread from issue 1 to see if this held together or not.

This is a strange book. It reads like old school Claremont X-men. Which is both good and bad. Going to stick with it. At least for a bit.

I guess not everyone likes this but I enjoyed it. It's not structured in a traditional manner. I don't mind how he threw us into it. There are writers that take a year of story telling to get to this point. And I like the art. Very dynamic and expressive.

Pretty good. I just don't agree with using this much page space on mourning given the last page. And I want more kid eternity. I still remember the lemire one shot on kid eternity.

Johnny sorrow has been trying to call the Elder Gods for a long time. I thought it was just 25 of our years (Johns Goyer run). But since world war 2? Why can't he get the job done? I guess his last name is Sorrow because he can't stop failing the Elder Gods. Why is Cthulhu putting up with this failure? What a loser. Kidding, Sorrow is awesome and totally under used in DC continuity.

I enjoyed it. Some great fight sequences and storytelling. Can't believe it took 8 issues to get here.

The whole run has been very consistently around an 8 for me. Not my favorite issue but the required issue for the finale. Looking forward to a shorter story arc next.

This felt like a rushed finale. And there is no excuse for that when you take 12 issues to tell a story.

Don't know why I can't review issue 2 here, but both issues are great. All of the creators are crushing it here.

It felt a little short. Like it just ended. Which means it will read better in trade. So difficult to recommend picking up a $6 book that felt this incomplete. But I like the creators and trust them to deliver.

With this issue it finally clicked for me. Priest and Quesada are in top form.

Good. But not as good as the prior issue. Not much forward progression of story in this issue. Felt like a lot of rehashing for people who didn't understand the first 3 issues.

Very generic so far and kind of boring. Not sure where the Dan Watters that wrote Lucifer, 6 fingers and the detective comics back ups. Will keep reading for a few more issues.

Some improved art and story progression helped this issue. But I still think the artist is not a good fit for the story being told.

Please replace the artist with someone who better fits the story being told.

I was dropping this title because I don't like the regular artists work. Picked this up for FF. Love his art.

This is not a review of the art by FF. This story can be described as by the numbers or phoning it on. Take your pick. And I really like Dan Watters work.

I like the ongoing fantastic four run by North. I found this boring and mediocre. Someone else described it as hollow. That is a good description.

I'm enjoying this. Even if the heros come off stupid.

They sold a teaser for 2 bucks.

I like this and it's fun to see Jen out of her element. I know people want her on earth as a lawyer, but she hulk is a great, versatile character. Why not mix it up? Also, Aaron Kuder is just great.

I thought this was pretty good. It was definitely a fast read but a bit of that is Percy's approach to all of his books. I will read more.

Another difficult one to rate because parts of this are 10. But as a single issue this is not a 10. It will probably read much better in trade. And what a boring cover for a book with great art inside. Fortunately the variant cover is fantastic.

The art in this is amazing and drives it to a 9. The A plot and the B plot needed some refinement to work together a little better.

I like the book a lot. My only really issue is with that's it pretty padded storytellling. This is a cool issue for visuals in which almost nothing happens.

Ok. This one is tough to review. Because it's both amazing and dumb. Prince's voice for Batman is spot on (for the non-Frank Miller version).

Golden age Superman is a nice surprise. Even if it totally shifts the tone of the book. But with the themes involved it does feel like Wesley Dodds should be here.

I'm going to have to go back and read this from the beginning. I feel like Maxwell lord was pulled in very late and is now key to the story. Perhaps he was in the early issues and I just don't remember.

As an issue I enjoyed it. Ram V is similar to Spurrier in that I'm not sure the whole is as good as the sum of its parts. Plotting is not his strength and that is okay. I thought this maxi series dragged in the middle. Definitely going to reread this from the beginning. Which is my plan with Ram Vs swamp thing, detective comics and new gods, to see if these comics hold together.

Just getting around to reading this. Crazy messed up book and I like it.

Picked this up randomly. Intriguing start.

Probably the best book of the week for me. Starks has some great pacing here. And Piazzalunga art reminds me of Norm Breyfogle.

This is one crazy comic. Best issue of the mini series so far.

I really wanted to love this ending but it just felt off to me. The book didn't even say the end or to be continued. It just ended. Almost like it's missing a final page or something. Art is still very good.

Some clunky pacing in the middle but pretty good overall. My bias to like this pushes it to an 8. Liking the art. Reminds me of Sean Phillips.

The twice was visible a 100 miles away but that's ok. I still like it. Cool art and colors.

I have not read this issue in yet. I just stuck a rating in there to post a comment. I just finished the second collection. I am enjoying the execution very much. My comment, which perhaps will start a discussion, is that this setup is flawed. In this ultimate universe that they have created, I don't see a scenario wherein Peter Parker's and Harry's family and friends are not all already dead.

Pretty good. Nothing particularly impressive here. Very straight forward.

I didn't like this issue as much as others in this series. There was a lot of telling instead of showing. But I like the creative team and will keep reading.

It's ok. Definitely not as good as issue 16. This series doesn't tackle enough of the issues around the comforts that create complacency that allow for consolidation of resources. Who shows up for the revolution if we lose our high quality distractions like streaming, the NFL and Below Deck? What if it's the Bears year?? It's has an overly simplistic moral view around what allows consolidation of power to happen. The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter. I'm liking this. It has the feel of the early issues of JL from the 80s with Giffen & Dematteis.

I'm just catching up on this title. I kind of like it. Especially since the art and writing just work well together.

I like the art. It shows a lot of potential. From a story perspective this is one of the lesser issues in the run so far.

Not a good script. Some very good panels. Artist has potential.

It's just odd. Why build up a villain like the sovereign and have the take down be like this? Also, to think that the sovereign wouldn't have the chimp lobotomized is silly. And I'm fine with silly in comics, if it fits your narrative. When I was reading the issue with Diana being starved and having a glass of wine poured over her head, my take was that this wasn't a silly book. Also, Diana using all allies in the arsenal is enjoyable. But The sovereign would do the same and it would make it more interesting if he did. Showing Diana playing chess and the sovereign playing incompetent is lazy.

I liked it. I haven't been reading the title on a regular basis so perhaps that helped.

It's ok. I wanted more of a mystery.

Feels like it could have been longer. But still very enjoyable.

Been thinking of dropping this, but I liked this issue. Will see how it goes.

Bob Quinn is a very good storyteller. And Mark Russell writing was better here. This is probably one of the better issues.

Tricky book to review. Some great art. Some good scripting in parts. A dumb plot forced down from above.

Pretty good.

This is not good. Very little story in this issue. Artist is not at his best. Characters are acting out of character. Some of Scott's dialogue is extremely out of character. Even for a Scott that is from ten years in the future.

I actually think the Jed Mackay portion of this storyline is being executed pretty well. But i am tired of cross overs and dystopian futures. And no more than two X-men books that's it.
