Jun 24, 2026King Shazam’s brutal attack puts Superman in a dire situation as he’s in a winless fight. Arron crafts a combustible scenario with the writing. Get Your Comic On - Luke Deckard
Jun 24, 2026Pure super-action at its best. There is very little story here, but this is a thrill-a-page with some outstanding artwork as Kal and his team try to stop King Shazam from coming to power. The strength of this issue is that it focuses the uneven Shazam arc back to its villain rather than introducing new characters or interrupting with subplots. Read Full Review

A pleasure to read as always. The unsung hero of the Absolute line. Although Absolute Batman is easily my favourite, this run has the daunting task of being successful in its shadow. I feel it exceeds every month. Jason Aaron has really become such a valuable asset to DC. Flailing Marvel likely wish they still had him on their roster.

Once again, I really enjoyed an issue of Absolute Superman. It's the comic I look forward to reading the most every month. I loved this issue as always. Rafa Sandoval’s art, which is always solid, felt even better here. I liked the development for both Black Adam and Hawkman. And it’s always great to see Superman saving people, even in situations where the odds are completely stacked against him. Plus, this issue was a total showcase for cool capes and Hawkman’s wings definitely count in this case too, haha.
