    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

There are some incredibly creepy moments in this issue, particularly towards the end, and with a real sense of danger that belies just how new Wally is to his powers. Grodd may not be the danger in this comic, but his father may slowly be growing into something just as dangerous as his main-line counterpart. Read Full Review

Issue #16 is tightly paced from start to finish, with every line of dialogue either developing the bonds between the characters or pushing the storyline to the next page. Even the last few pages don’t feel like bait for the next issue because they actually answers the reader’s questions rather than simply kicking the can down the road. Read Full Review

Absolute Flash #16 is bringing things more into focus as the fallout from Thawne’s experiments is beginning to take shape. Lemire is doing an incredible job making us invested in these characters, as the art team is using subtle shifts in coloring and detail to push the narration in different directions. With each passing issue, Absolute Flash rises in the ranks for me in the universe. Read Full Review

One cry for help sends Wally West into deadly trap with no way out. Lemire’s writing cranks up a more straight forward superhero story. Haining and Lucas weave in many emotions as the story of Grodd takes fast turns. A great run with a show-stopping finish. Can’t ask for better than that. Read Full Review

    AIPT - George Loftus

Absolute Flash #16 rushes to its cliffhanger conclusion at a breakneck pace but I still felt treated to small, intimate moments between characters I care about each month. Bright and vivid colors accentuate a dark (visually and metaphorically) world and brings reinforces the theme of youthful optimism and hope. The most interesting part was the ending, but the buildup, though quick, was still a satisfying way to read a comic in record time. Read Full Review

The pacing issues persist, but Linda's presence and her dialogues with Wally make this issue very enjoyable to read. The art is very good, and I really like how Linda is presented here, having her "Lois Lane moment" and finally naming Wally "Flash." I really enjoyed it.

I really like Jeff Lemire's writing for Wally West, Linda and Grodd. It's my first time seeing a younger version of Wally, and this has been consistently entertaining.

Super fun issue here. In my review of this week's Absolute Batman issue (#21) I talked about bringing about hero/villain/etc. names in an organic way, and I bring that up because I thought it was done well in this issue. It only took sixteen issues, but Absolute Flash is now starting to get called...The Flash, or, at least "Flash." Anyways, I really liked the way Lemire got that in, as it felt super natural and in line with Linda's character. That said, the rest of this was very enjoyable. Haining is still a good fill-in artist, and I felt that this issue was fairly quick in a good way.
