Nov 20, 2024Eclipsos endgame comes into focus with a spectacular closing chapter. Waid maxes out the heroic strengths at play with the writing. Gutirrez, Herms and Wands craft a suspenseful showdown featuring two legendary teams. What more could you want from a series that lives up to the billing of Worlds Finest Read Full Review

Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Nov 20, 2024I think this title might be even stronger if it leaned into its Brave and the Bold influences, and did more team-ups that didn't necessarily focus on the big two. Waid has such a deep knowledge and love for the DCU that it would be fun to see him stretch it even further. Read Full Review

Nov 23, 2024Batman/Superman: World's Finest #33 is a fitting conclusion to an excellent arc. The story hits all the right notes, the art is top-tier, and the emotional beats stick. It's not revolutionary, but it doesn't need to be. Read Full Review

Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj
Nov 27, 2024If you let these things wash over you, this is a fun quick story. (After all, if you think about ANY super-hero story too long things get muddy.) But this wasn't as perfect or near-perfect as prior arcs. So in some ways it is a let down. Given that the JLU sounds like a similar book in concept (the trinity with 'other heroes' as needed - albeit in the present not some undisclosed past), I wonder if this book gets a new writer? Nov 21, 2024Batman/Superman: World's Finest #33 brings the Shadows Fall arc to a close. It feels rushed, but there are glimmers of hopefulness in this issue that give a much-needed beating heart to this story. The art is colorful and fun, making it all-around an unevenly paced but solid issue. Read Full Review

The Aspiring Kryptonian - Sam Rakestraw
Nov 20, 2024I hope you have the reflexes of Superman himself because Batman/Superman: Worlds Finest #33 is all over the place as the Justice League and Justice Society attempt to corner Eclipso with the sun in his sights. Its madness all around the world with so much going on in such a short span of time in what is meant to be the final issue in the Eclipso arc. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Jackson Luken
Nov 20, 2024The overall appeal of the series still remains, but rushed and poorly executed plot elements make it difficult to hold it in the same exceptional regard as in the past. Too often the endearing character moments and fun action is overshadowed by diversions that don't go anywhere or underdeveloped resolutions. Read Full Review

Solid book, good action, great art. It all wrapped up a little too quickly and conveniently imo, but it wasn't egregious. Good stuff.

Not Waid's best but it's still good.

Solid end to the story, but it wasn't Waid's best. Pacing was ok, and not much more you could do with the story, but to get it above and 8 for me the art would have had to be better. It was good, but it is still taking me a bit to get use to the loss of Mora. He was perfect for these stories. My main story gripe is what some of the members were doing- like really? Using Atom to keep a single person a live? I am sure there were things that he could have been doing that would have been saving a lot more people. That just felt a... well lowers of the stakes when the entire world is in danger but some of the heroes are helping with smaller stuff. All in all though it had creativity, good character writing, good fights, and a general fun time more

Rushed, but there wasn't enough here to justify a fourth part. Waid has fun writing the JSA, but it feels like a lot of this has been covered before him before Flashpoint. (Heck, he references at least two of his Flash comics here.)
