May 28, 2024Well that was abrupt. This book has been a crazy ride. This issue had some amazing moments (Magnetos return to the battle and team up with Polaris, Storms arrival and Scotts smile), but it must be said that everything got wrapped up REALLY quickly. We still need to see the end of ROTPOX so we dont have the full story, but one has to assume that Moira and her story will conclude in that final issue or maybe the upcoming Uncanny X-men 700. Heroes are back in business. No more of this killing indiscriminately stuff. There is no more doubt with these heroes. If youve been a reader that has been put off by all the death and gloom since Nimrod fell on the X-men during the 3rdHellfire Gala, then I implore you to read this. Read Full Review

I actually enjoyed this. Epic fight with Nimrod. I don't love how easily Orchis seemed to crumble after Nimrod and Omega Sentinel were defeated, but it was a cool battle nonetheless.

A fairly satisfying conclusion to what is overall a very mid X-Men miniseries. The final fight with Nimrod is properly epic and I loved how Storm was the one to deliver the final blow. Still hate what they've done with Xavier though.

This hasn't been the best event in X-history, but it's been ok. This issue was a highlight of the run though, being simpler and more clear in what's happening and why. There were some gorgeous pages, especially when Storm enters the picture, as well as some cool ideas like Magneto and Polaris working together. Enjoyable conclusion. Not deep, but enjoyable.

As a finale to this particular miniseries, it's not incredibly satisfying. Powers and X-Men 700 will most likely provide a more satisfying conclusion. The X-Men fight and blow up Orchis. It's the smashing-action-figures side of this storyline. Rise was handling the more cerebral, existential stuff, and I have high hopes for that series' end.

Duggan and Werneck saved their best for last. It's a low bar but kudos for somewhat making it more cohesive than the previous mess. Duggan started well with his X-Men run but the end of and the Fall of X issues were a disappointment. Still I'm glad Werneck delivered some pretty nice panels and splash pages here to salvage something out of this. Shout out to Caselli coming out of the bullpen to deliver some crisp pages at the end. Last stop is almost here and I'm ready to leave the X-Men behind for a while.

This started off fairly strong, in my opinion, as I really liked the stuff with Cyclops and Storm. Furthermore, Caselli's art was absolutely fantastic here. That said, though, everything else wasn't as strong, for me. There wasn't anything particularly bad here, but the ending to this whole era still feels a little crammed and complicated in certain spots.

Sad seeing Nimrod go. I've been invested in this Krakoa story from the beginning. I haven't bought every book and series, but it felt odd seing that character come to an end. I won't be reading any X-Men after 700, so hopefully that and Rise end this era on a somewhat high note.

Hey, it ended better than I expected, I will give Gerry Duggan that. I liked how Storm over circuited Nimrod's abilities, and how Magneto, Polariis created a magnetic field to take down Nimrod/Orchis. The only thing I wished was that it felt Storm was like Josstice League Superman where she overpowered everything randomly because it wasnt really built up and she had no personal experience with Nimrod. All the other x-Men at least had some encounters with Orchis and Nimrod, but Storm was busy with being on Mars in X-Men Red. But if you can just turn your brain off for this issue, I think people will like this ending.

Well, it's coherent, so by the standards of Fall of X it's not bad. The issue is really just one big fight scene, but since that's the main thing Duggan's been doing on X-Men that's probably for the best, and Werneck handles the storytelling better than he did in the first four issues. But the whole thing struggles thanks to a big picture that's mostly blank. Questions like "Why are mainstays like Rogue and Firestar suddenly ready to kill?" could be dramatically fascinating if there was any evidence Duggan had given it a moment's thought. Karima's redemption is handled perfectly well except that it comes out of nowhere (has it ever even been mentioned that Karima has a dual mind?) and feels less like a plot point and more like hastily t more
