A fun little anthology of tales to wrap up Ayala's amazing run on New Mutants. It doesn't reach all the heights of their run but this issue once more proves Ayala knows these mutants through and through. And it is fitting for these particular characters to have an anniversary issue where they are just hanging out and having a good time swapping stories. I wish Ayala could've continued their run bu more

CELEBRATE THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF X-MEN'S YOUTHFUL MISFITS!
Throughout the past forty years, NEW MUTANTS has remained a timeless yet contemporary voice for the marginalized youth who must grow up in a harsh, cruel world. In this supersized issue, Vita Ayala, Rod Reis and more craft a mosaic love letter dedicated to the mutant youngsters who hav...
An entertaining one-and-done tale. But instead of featuring Daken and Warpath, I would've much preferred the story about Scout being hungry for pizza and accidentally winding up at an Orchis base. That would've been funny to read.
New Mutants #29
SIBLING REVIVAL!
Gabby and Karma have gone missing...and it's up to Daken and James Proudstar to track them down! Stained by their own sense of failures concerning their respective siblings - Daken's guilt over not being able to protect Gabby from the Shadow King and Warpath's avoidance in reuniting with the recently resurrected John Proudstar ...
I'm not sure why this wasn't just Way of X #6 but it's a great finale to the miniseries. The final confrontation with Onslaught is very satisfying, Nightcrawler and Legion continue to make a great team, Cortez's pseudo-redemption-but-not-quite arc doesn't feel forced & Lost continues to be a great addition to Marvel's vast cast of mutants. Excited for what Legion of X brings!

Very abstract, very metaphysical, and very, very good.
Im looking forward to Legionares. Nightcrawler remains the best X man.

I enjoyed the parade that Spurrier put on. Cult has a negative connotation to it, so masking it as culture works well for me. The communistic hivemind was a solid progression of what Krakoa is becoming and I think it was a great resolution to this story. It makes sense that a country composed of evolved beings would have an elevated form of "police," especially considering how oppressive real-wor more

Yeah, in hindsight that would have been the better call. Glad you found the humor.
I mean, I obviously disagree and the communistic angle annoys me a lot but don't think that just because we don't agree on something I don't want to hear it or discuss it.

THIS IS THE WAY!
• What happens when the third law of Krakoa is broken?
• What happens when all other solutions have failed?
• What happens when Nightcrawler finally finds the Way?

"We are this sacred land." I love it when I get chills from a comic book. Way of X is an ambitious story amongst an ambitious line or stories. Still, Spurrier handled it with graceful skill.

I'm not the biggest fan of how Spurrier writes Xavier in this, but that's pretty much my only gripe. This is still an awesome series and this issue was great.

meh.
I feel that it is too convenient, in other hellfire gala there were many heroes, while in this gala it was only the avengers. And although I can believe that they left because the Krakoa captain attacked the United States.
I don't understand why there weren't more heroes at the gala. it feels very convenient and anticlimactic. that without counting that orchis eas

Let me be very clear on what kind of X-men fan I am: I love most of Krakoa era comics and I think Tini Howard is one hell of a great writer.
That said, this issue is just horrible. Duggan dropped some good ideas on previous comics that go nowhere, while at the same time failing to proper introduce the reader to whatever is going on in this packed issue. And his more political attempts n

I'm getting pretty tired of reading what is essentially the same storyline over and over when it comes to X-Men comics. I'm a longtime X-Men fan and I absolutely love the characters -- and always will. I still read the comics because I still love the characters but the storylines are getting to be so insanely repetitive.
Another mutant genocide? Just another day in the office for the X

Here we go again. There can be no progress in comics, the status quo must prevail. So another massacre provides the reset.

I have mixed feelings about this final issue. I love the Krakoa era. Probably one of my favorite eras of X-Men honestly. I really don't understand why it had to go. I feel like a new crop of writers could have continued telling intriguing stories while mutants still have their island nation. But since good things don't last forever, especially in comics, is this a satisfying farewell to Krakoa? We more

I loved the Krakoan Age so I wasn't excited about it coming to an end, but I found the ending pretty satisfying. Throughout Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X I was confused why the X-Men couldn't just return to Krakoa after it all, but here they give us the answer. I like that they were able to wrap up this status quo while still giving a feeling that it mattered and was worth som more

I think this issue revolves around one very large question: was Krakoan worth it?
And while I have plenty of gripes about the way Fall of X was handled from an editorial standpoint, I'm left with the same conclusion that Ewing, Gillen, and Duggan come to: Yes, Krakoa was a resounding success. I can't remember the last time X-Men comics in particular felt this interesting and fresh. The

What. An ending.
Its and to put into words how much the krakoan age means to me as an x men fan. Its the first full "era" I followed form beginning to end and introduced me to many characters i now love. I've been an x fan my entire life but this was something special. Its hard to encapsulate all possible thoughts on this era, and it certainly had its uos and downs but i can say for a

A fairly satisfying conclusion to what is overall a very mid X-Men miniseries. The final fight with Nimrod is properly epic and I loved how Storm was the one to deliver the final blow. Still hate what they've done with Xavier though.

THE BATTLE FOR THE FUTURE!
It all comes down to this - Orchis versus the X-Men, winner take the future! Orchis has pushed mutantkind to their lowest point ever, but that just means the X-Men have had to fight back like never before. Will it be enough? We continue to barrel toward the conclusion of the Krakoan Age as the two stories that are on...
