    Comics Bulletin - Jason Cornwell

This book is starting to become a regular labyrinth of a story, as Brian Michael Bendis has been continually adding to this plot and with everything linked to what has gone on before, this book has achieved a degree of complexity that one rarely finds in the pages of a comic. Now while this makes the material a little daunting when it comes to newer readers, the opening recap pages do a pretty fair job of detailing all the major details, and for readers who have been with this story since the beginning, it's rather exciting to see everything is starting to come together in what is guaranteed to be a memorable finish. I love the idea that this book is able to explore its material from a variety of different vantage points, and that Brian Michael Bendis has also developed a multitude of secondary elements to this plot, as there's nothing quite so rewarding as a book that not only thinks big, but is also able to deliver big when it starts laying out the cards it has been dealing. Comics Bulletin - David Kozlowski

For the concluding chapter of a storyline there are a whole bunch of unresolved threads. The emerging relationship between Matt and Milla Donovan is referenced briefly, but its not concluded in any way. The new mutant-enhanced drug, MGH, remains on the street but theres still no word on who originally created it. Then theres still the big question of whether Matt killed Mr. Rosenthal or how about that whole identity thing the media is pursuing. I expected more finality from Brian Bendis, but I suppose he has more to say on these subjects in the future. My expectations for Lowlife were unrealistic. The setup in the first couple of chapters was so good that Im probably being a bit unfair in my criticism. Read Full Review

Im sure after reading my comments many of you feel I hated this book, but such is not the case. True, I didnt enjoy it as much as other DD books, but this issue was good too. If you havent read this issue yet, then I think you should probably do so soon, the FBI bust alone is reason enough. Read Full Review

The story is fine, but I'm tired of Maleev. He artwork is getting worse with each issue. I don't know, it's just awful... He copypasted his own images without making sure it looked good (look at the head of Slike on one of the frames before he met the Kingpin... He missed half of his head, because the artist copied it from the next frame and didn't finish for the new one). Some of his backgrounds feel like they were AI generated in 2021 (for example, New York letters on a building on the next page - what the hell?). Some characters look fine and then literally one frame later they get insanely distorted... It really looks like he used real photos and then added some awful cheap photoshop filter... AWFUL! Man, it's just awful... Look at the more
