My feelings exactly, like I said in my review, I just don't feel like Zdarsky has a proper voice for Daredevil, it's like he doesn't like the character, so either he's showing us what a hypocrite he is with his holier than thou attitude, or he's just reckless like here. He's never put in a good light.

But Why Tho? - William Tucker
Jan 26, 2022Devils Reign #3 maintains the high quality of the event. Zdarsky has mixed the emotional weight and melodrama of his Daredevil and elevates it to a city-level event. None of the characters are here as a cameo, they all have meaning because this is their home. Read Full Review

Graphic Policy - Brett
Jan 26, 2022The art is fantastic as well. Marco Checchetto delivers a style that fits the mood, helped by Marcio Menyz's colors and Clayton Cowles' lettering. Like the story itself, there's a darkness and cloud that hangs over the art but at no point does it feel depressing. There's a frustration that oozes off the page as the heroes feel beat down but not beaten. There's also some humorous moments through it all as well, nailing the little bit of levity that Zdarsky's script brings. The art also transitions so well from debates around a table to full on action without missing a beat. Read Full Review

Jan 26, 2022Devil's Reign #3 continues to tell a thoroughly grounded story with heroes fighting for what they believe in as the enemy grows ever stronger. The art is phenomenal, although it never goes too big with splashy moments. Devil's Reign continues to tell an interesting, albeit lower-stakes story. Read Full Review

Jan 26, 2022Devil's Reign straddles closer and closer to a pseudo-Civil War event with each passing issue, but Zdarsky's scripts are fully aware of that with some meta references throughout. Read Full Review

So far this has been everything I hoped for and more! I was so bummed when this ended because I was really into the story. The end had me quite concerned I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Really good issue, I'm just concerned with how much is going on here. I hope it can wrap up properly.

Best issue of the tie in yet I think. The Purple Man and Otto making up for this lifeless version of Kingpin.

The chameleon twist was crazy and then that cliffhanger too? Damn, this event has been living up to expectations so far.

Damn, a twist followed by an intense cliffhanger makes for a hard two-punch combo.

This issue is an express train of plot development, and it's got some truly GOAT art. (Like, trust Marco Checchetto to illustrate "Sue steals a paperclip and it's clearly important but not obvious" without any words.) But all that creamy-smooth plot development's not without its price. Character work and big ideas are pushed well onto the back burners as the plot-machine gets complicated. That doesn't make this a bad comic by any means. But it's why this is very good instead of great.

its fine, this feels like a slower version of Civil War. the art is kinda slowing down and not looking as good, but we'll see how this goes.

Seems like Toned down Civil War. Did Zdarsky killed Foggy? That's sad. Anyways let's get to next point. I am really digging the art. It's good.

Some parts feel a bitter over played but, I do enjoy it for what it is. It has great art, which doesn't hurt.

While I'll admit this was better than previous issues, I still don't like Zdarsky's voice for Daredevil. I just don't think he likes the character. And still, Marvel managed to get him another DD series after Devil's Reign. I'm wondering if that is Cameleon, where the hell is Tony Stark during all of this?

I like the premise of this, don't get me wrong; the mini-civil war just works for me. My problem is Daredevil just got out of prison, a sentence he served because he felt guilty about being a criminal. Now he boasts about it to a teenager... Idk, seems inconsistent to me.

It's OK. I would like this as a daredevil book the hype of an event is not helping. Checchetto is keeping my interest!
