Feb 07, 2022Similar to Devil's Reign #3, issue #4 moves the plot forward slightly, but packs a character-driven punch. There are only two issues left, but this issue does a lot to set up an exciting finish to the event. No matter what though, this is the best superhero character drama in comics today. Feb 09, 2022Devil's Reign #4 is another solid issue of Marvel's best event in quite a while. The story is one that is influenced by what has come before but delivers it in a new and updated twist. There's some real emotion here and a lot that will make you pause and think. With just two more issues left, it's up in the air as to how this all will end but one thing guaranteed is there's going to be some shifts when things are all done. Read Full Review

Feb 09, 2022Reading through Devil's Reign has been like watching master chess players duke it out. That's why it's infuriating the major turning moment here"the big reveal, if you will"happens solely by chance, and not by the calculating characters this title has built up. Read Full Review

Loved it! The ending is outstanding and simply keeps you wanting more. I love the way so much characters are handled and seeing their point of view regarding Fisk's abuse of power is great. The main plot moves slowly and the big payoff is not delivered until the very last page but overall a great issue to keep the story going.

This is so damn good! that ending... holy hell, shit's about to explode. And Marco Checchettto... man, this guy is talented!

I wasn't sure this event would be able to wrap things up with its six issues, but a time jump and a revelation pretty much solves that issue. I wonder how these last two issues will shake out.

No other event book of the past few years can touch this. Devil's Reign is genuinely good and shows what you can do with a Marvel product when you put extra effort into the writing and build to a payoff.

Character, plot, plot, character, plot, plot, CHARACTER/PLOT BOMBSHELL. And it reads smooth and looks gorgeous all the way through. It's a chain of tight, cool scenes one right after the other. Big props to colorist Marcio Menyz, too; his ability to tone lines as well as voids is a major asset to the art.

I wasn't super into this issue for most of the way through...It felt like the obligatory "show what's happening in all of the other storylines to make people go buy those tie-ins", but that ending...holy smokes. That ending alone earned this issue a full point higher rating.

Pacing is slow here. It focusses on what needs to be focussed upon. Fisk view on Power is great to be focussed upon. Marco Chechetto is killing on Art. It's great how he draws Doc Ock, Fisk and others. I felt Foggy died in last issue but he didn't. It's relief.

It's good. Slow, but good. When everything else works, the pacing isn't a problem for me. And Born Again 2.0? I'm interested.

Mostly just a set up issue but man those last 2 pages were good

I liked this issue, Zdarsky is good when he focuses on story and characters and not social issues, he did a great job here with the voices for the characters, he captured Matt, Fisk, Butch and Mike pretty well. I like that it's shown that U.S. Agent is being controlled by Fisk but I still think that unless he's a double agent, he wouldn't have joined willingly. And hey, Rhino is still a good guy. He has some odd voices for the FF and I'm still not into Otto's plan with his Superior Four but these are minor complaints. Overall this was a pretty good issue.

the pacing is fine and its a good issue overall. Had a lot of high expectations for this one, but for now this is a solid issue.

I liked this one the best but, it's still missing the punch I'm expecting. I do like the way this issue was more about Daredevil, and I like the ending, even though it's going to be another attempt to rock bottom Matt Murdock as usual.

It's good although I am not following the tie ins so I am missing info which makes it harder to enjoy as a stand alone. I fear that my enjoyment would not be as much as it is without the great art from Checchetto and menyz. All the characters and the story are going in a good churn but somehow this whole setup is missing the magical beat drop. Will it ever show up? Because if the last page was supposed to be it then it didn't hit as hard.
