The Wild Storm returns with… wit! Charm! Gorgeous artwork! And (finally) answers! After having been a bit underwhelmed by the last few issues, this one sets the stage very effectively for the series' conclusion. The issue also offers two crucial pieces of information about Jenny Mei Sparks including her origins (not the spirit of any century) and a trip to Mars and delivers the first appearance of the final two authoritative figures who are likely to play a large role in how events unfold. Writer Warren Ellis and artist Jon Davis-Hunt continue their consistent, wonderful brilliance once again this month. Issue #19 is the final act of the slowest burn sci-fi, tech thriller in recent memory. Like every other damn chapter in this frustratingly overlooked gem, #19 asks a fair amount from it's readers. Do you have a stupendous memory for plot? Is your patience high functioning? Ellis and company have built a comic book world so rich, so deep, that dozens of series can (and likely will) spin out from this. Will the conclusion of Wild Storm be as satisfying as the journey? It's great to have answers, and they were definitely needed this late in the game. There's little getting around the feeling, however, that this was a (much needed) info dump. I enjoyed the story and the unique artwork, but this information may have been better spread out rather than all shared across the span of eight pages. Still, the worst day with the Wild Storm is better than most books on the shelf, and this is an important part of the larger storyline Ellis is telling. Read Full Review

The Wild Storm #19 is a fantastic comic. If youve not been reading the Wild Storm there likely wont be a better jumping on point than here. And if youve been here from the start then this issue will surely rekindle all the interest in the series that may have dissipated over the past months that the series has been absent from comic book shelves. I love every individual issue, but does it add up to anything but a 24 issue setup for spinoffs DC might not greenlight?
