Aug 26, 2020Overall, this is a fantastic annual that really delivered on story and feels like a great opener for what could've been another season of Daredevil. The situations from the first 20 issues are here, but this will really add an incredible new spin that has me waiting for more. History be damned, as it all starts here! Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - Weird Science Jim
Aug 26, 2020Chip Zdarsky changes the game for his Daredevil run without wiping out the importance of the preceding issues at all. No matter what you think of the "One More Day" on the cover (or Annuals), I think you will be surprised by what Zdarsky adds to his story, and I can't wait to see more. If you haven't been reading this run, there is no better time to start than now. Read Full Review

On Comics Ground - Brian Daley
Aug 29, 2020It's like One More Day but actual thought is put into it and it serves a purpose beyond regressing characters. As I said, I won't be spoiling the changes, because I want anyone reading this review to go buy this issue as soon as possible. It's just really good. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin
Aug 26, 2020This is an admirably serious serious look at a silly idea -- the consequences and the reality of de-fictionalizing Mike Murdock. Does Mike have a role to play in future issues of the Daredevil ongoing? Personally, I doubt it; this book feels like an improvisational sideshow that spins a little gold out of the available straw. (Mr. Zdarsky says otherwise on Twitter, though, and he's certainly the authority on the subject.) I wasn't particularly looking forward to revisiting Mike, but this annual's thoughtful take on him was a pleasant and thoroughly enjoyable surprise. Read Full Review

Sep 02, 2020Chip Zdarsky makes bold continuity changes and continues to weave a fascinating Daredevil story. This annual surpasses the stigma of the "One More Day" name with the aid of a talented art team. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Charles Hartford
Aug 26, 2020When all is said and done Daredevil: One More Day #1 provides an interesting setup for Mike Murdocks future. It gives the character a strong motivation for future stories. After all, he has a life to work for now. Read Full Review

Zdarsky made me really care about Mike Murdock and not hate the idea of changing continuity. The One More Day title was very apt, and yet, this story didn't end with characters being ruined.

" I'm a ghost who wants to be a real boy. I deserve that much, dammit." - MIKE MURDOCK

I'm a little hesitant to give this such a high review because of my hate for retcons, but Zdarsky pulled this off in the best way possible for a retcon I guess. Interested to see where this goes but I just hate the whole idea of Mike Murdock in general

-Very good take on a concept that easily could've been just a goofy side story. -Enjoy has it changes history, but does not change the how the environment around the murdocks affects them. -Open-ended last page allows Chip to use him, but i do not really see that as something that will happen

Wow, zdarsky is amazing. What a set up for hopefully a major conflict for matt. The story itself is also pretty emotional, especially if you had a twin growing up. I've heaped so much praise on this series, I just hope everyone goes out there and buys every issue of this series because it is amazing.

Goofy alias turned almost-real-boy Mike Murdock returns from comic book Limbo. Here we get his scheme to magic himself up a real past combined with grim flashbacks to that past. Mike Murdock is inherently absurd, but this self-contained story invests him with gravitas thanks to talented storytellers playing him deadly straight. A really fun tangent to explore, and one that Chip Zdarsky just might come back to.

Its basically an origin story for mike and instantly makes him a huge player in Daredevil going forward. I do think that in terms of overall effect of the story will all depend on how its followed up on.

An annual was a good place to squeeze this story in. The art is reminiscent of Frank Miller's , which feels appropriate.

A pretty decent issue giving Mike Murdock some backstory. Well written, but the art wasn't amazing.

This issue pretty much re-writes Matt's entire childhood and growing up by adding in Mike Murdock and giving him a backstory. It was well-written and the art was great but I'm still not sure how I feel about this. Guess we'll see if it was worth it.

Weakest Zdarsky Daredevil comic by far. Don't care much for the Mike Murdock retcon.
-

Mike Murdock was a convoluted and dumb retcon. Worst issue by far by Chip Zdarsky Marvel, stop touching established characters origins. You hear me? LEAVE THEM ALONE!
