This issue is fun, beautiful, epic, amazing. Dan Slott and Mike Allred are producing such a good comic with the "Silver Surfer," it's always a treat when a new issue comes out. But this is one of the better ones, beyond cosmic in scope, showing again how the Surfer will sacrifice all for the universe, but also a love unparalleled in Dawn Greenwood. Galactus and Ego show their respect for the Surfer, and his love for Dawn, in a comic that seems out of this time, but perfectly so. This book makes me happy.

At last a good one-shot! While the last few stories were dull and repetitive, this one is entertaining, uplifting and even a bit moving. I particularly enjoyed the use of symmetries and original panel compositions to translate the relationship between Dawn and the Surfer. It reminded me of the extraordinary issue 11 (of the last series). The Allreds' art is incredible; their Galactus is impressive and powerful. Still, the series is not as good as it used to be before the delays. The overall plot doesn't move forward and the lack of "real" narrative arcs prevents the stories from being more complex and ambitious.

Dawn & Norrin have to help Galactus save the universe. Short and sweet. It's a feather-light but definitely heartwarming adventure that introduces our protagonists to Galactus the Lifebringer and sees them throw in together against a universal threat. Some terrific layout work helps to elevate this vignette of a story and give its happy ending a satisfying impact.
