Wilson Fisk's hubris as mayor of New York has cast the city in the waiting arms of a cadre of dangerous and deadly super villains! Worse still, Fisk's vendetta against the heroes who have stood against him for so long has left the city defenseless. You may think you've heard a tale like this before, but there will be no last minute bargains struck between Fisk and the heroes, no truce to stop the fighting and no mutual parting of the ways. Just blood, sweat and tears! Trust us, True Believer, you have NO IDEA what's coming - or the effect it will have on the Marvel Universe!

Devil's Reign #6 is a great ending. While I wish it was a bit more self-contained, it's set up of what's to come doesn't quite make you feel like you absolutely need to continue. With one more follow up issue to come, the event is one of the best Marvel has recently released keeping things compact, focused, and delivering actual emotional punches. While in the end the good guys win and the future seems brighter, it's also a reminder that even in victory it doesn't mean justice will completely prevail. Read Full Review

Ultimately your enjoyment of this issue will depend on how much you've enjoyed the ride to get here. The series always had a slightly "been there done that" feel since it follows a similar premise to Civil War, i.e. illegal superheroes. Devil's Reign never quite feels like a universe-changing event, though, with lower stakes and a general feel as a chapter in Zdarsky and Checchetto's excellent Daredevil run. For that reason, this series ends on a note that is incredible if you've liked their run but leaves you wanting if you're looking for more. Read Full Review

The results of the title match will divide fans on how a story like this should close out, and things were a tad too tidy by the turn of the last page; however, it was a fun ride to get there. Despite Marco Checchetto's gorgeous artwork all throughout this 6-issue run, we won't be calling Devil's Reign the book that erased the bad taste Civil War II left in fan's mouths like I once hoped, but it is one that will allow fans to keep saying Daredevil always has the best written stories in Marvel. Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto are continuing their Daredevil run as a relaunch, while the new Thunderbolts are set to feature in their own series soon, and it seems Luke Cage: Mayor for Hire is a development that might get its own spinoff as well. (One presumably distinct from the abruptly canceled Luke Cage: City of Fire.) If any of those are of interest to you, or if you want a more satisfying conclusion to this storyline, then you probably want to check this out. But if $5.99 is more than you're willing to pay for what are essentially teasers for future titles, you won't miss too much from skipping out. Read Full Review

Fisk betraying the Stromwyns was a long time coming. Glad he gave Wesley his flowers as well. Super satisfying conclusion. Again, the scene of Wilson attacking the Stromwyns with his son was brilliant.

Oh god, Matt & Elektra vs Fisk & Mary was absolute peak. That fight alone was worth it all. When Matt used the cane but it didn't work because Fisk is pure evil I had chills. Great, great, great. And that's not all! Luke Cage and Joe vs The Purple Man, Butch reveal, Fisk betraying the Stormwyns and the entire fight with the rest of the superheroes. A satisfying conclusion that gives us all the answers and resolutions we wanted and then some.

This event got a little muddled halfway through, but this final issue got things back on track in a big way. I loved just about everything here. Standout moment for me was Matt making Fisk reflect on all of the lives he ruined and Fisk just being completely unphased...that was cold. The art was as good as it's ever been; Marco Checchetto truly is at the top of his artistic game. A great event overall. Also, I'm extremely glad Fisk didn't take the Stromwyn's new deal; those two have become so annoying and I would've groaned if we had to endure any more of them.

Ending of Event that lands well. Hmmm. Enjoyed The Event. Art is absolutely Gorgeous. BTW, Chechetto never ceases to amaze me by how gorgeous she draws Elektra. Excited for Relaunch. Though don't really understand why but excited to read what comes next with Fist, Hand, Daredevil. Would Chip use Punisher in next run as he is also associated with Hand currently, I wonder. 🤔🤔

Once this series finally shook off the dreck of being a Civil War retread, it found its way back to being Zdarsky's Daredevil - which I'd much rather read than Civil War. This was a deeply satisfying conclusion to an uneven mini, and I'm excited to get back to the good stuff.

It's a good ending. I do think Devils Reign wasn't needed overall. That could have found a different way to get the same result. The story within the story was good when it came to Fisk and Daredevil.

I gotta admit, this finale changed the status quo a lot more than I thought it would. I'm excited to see what happens next (except with Butch; that guy's as spicy as mayonnaise). It's a finely-crafted story in words and art, but it's a bit of a problem that I'm more interested in the next chapters -- this one failed to grab my full attention. The script is beautifully constructed, with a nice pace. The prose isn't all that memorable, though; cliches abound. The art is exquisite by general standards. But this particular artist can do and has done better, even within this miniseries. Ultimately, it's a very good issue, and the event overall was good (some of the tie-ins, not so much). But it never quite got over the hump to greatness.

I was not a fan of how Elektra was written, her dialogue just wasn't there for me. I found the ending predictable, but the flip side of that is that Zdarsky had a goal in mind and made it happen.

This issue by itself was a solid turning point in Chip Zdarsky's Daredevil saga, closing off some plotlines while opening the door for others, but Devil's Reign as a whole absolutely did not need to be an event. This whole arc was all about Matt and Wilson, and bringing in the rest of the Marvel universe did the pacing no favors.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS: It was a good issue, but... 1) There was the old trope of the hero about to kill the bad guy and being talked out of it by a cohort. 2) If charges against Fisk weren't dropped, how did he leave the country so easily? 3) He must be extremely confused about killing Matt Murdock and having Daredevil show up. And now he just forgets about it and gives up on getting vengeance? 4) Daredevil spent a considerable portion of his latest run in prison for killing someone. Supposedly he learned to be a "better" Daredevil, but this last issue undoes any progress he may have made in this regard, and his teaming with Elektra to "save the world" seems to indicate he will be more reckless and extra-legal than ever: 5) N more

Good but I think this normal arc would have been more enjoyable as a tight one instead of an event spread out all over. I found myself not caring about many characters here. I'll see what happens in the relaunch and reassess. Checchetto and Menyz are good as always!

great. electra explaining matt to get him in controll was great!

It seems like everyone wants to do a "character defining run" where a major character suffers a cheap death to garner sales and make the event or the run seem more meaningful than it really was. It's overplayed and we all know whoever dies will be back in a couple of months. While Zdarsky made it seem like this was the direction he was going with Daredevil vowing to kill Kingpin, I'm glad to see he took a more restrained approach in the end.
