Avengers: Twilight #3 asks what its heroes are willing to sacrifice, expertly blending moral dilemmas with blockbuster action. Zdarsky and Acuna are at the top of their game here, and the back half of the series is set up to be just as engaging - if not more - than the first. Read Full Review

It made me feel like I was watching a movie, it was so good. The characters, the dialogue, everything about it. The few ending pages were thrilling. One of those endings that make you go "OMG" and wonder what will happen next.

I don't care, that ending alone makes this a 10. The problem with dystopian future stories is that they are so frequent and so often falling into the same tropes. To be clear, these are tropes for a reason. The threat of authoritarianism and fascism has been rolling around in the minds of people for decades and decades, and especially in today's climate. I can only begrudge the tropes so much, is my point. If they're done well, and I believe they are done well here, I do sort of fall into the sway of it. I want to see our heroes beat back the fascists again.

Plot Captain America needs to gather whatever heroes he can from his time to fight James Stark, so he heads to THE RAFT prison to get Tony Stark's floating head. Helped only by Tyler and a Quinjet, Cap manages to enter prison but is saved because he is helped by Bullseye, a member of Thunderbolts who can no longer stand James Stark's tyrannical thinking. James activates his Iron Man suit and Captain America even when he recovered his shield, he is no match for this version of Iron Man, but he is not alone, Ms Marvel and a powerful Avenger come to his aid. Excellent chapter full of suspense, surprises and revelations, where Captain America's true battle is against political radicalism led by James Stark but controlled by Jarvis, wh more

The best issue yet. Zdarsky continues to do a fantastic job here. I don't know that this story is anything particularly revolutionary or unique, but the execution of it all is what makes it great. He does a really nice job with Steve's character, and I found Thor's arrival absolutely epic. It definitely helps when you have Acuña making everything look awesome.

This series isn't exactly reinventing the wheel in terms of the story its telling, but its telling it in a darn good way. This is a great captain americs story and a great avengers story so far. Its making great use of the team members that we have seen, and you really can't predict where its gonna go. The art is incredible. Acuna is becoming a favorite of mine.

It's a quite nice blend of many topics and ideas addressed many times before but it is done well and has the feel of a movie I watched before yet I continue to enjoy popping it again to re-watch. I like the action here much better and Acuna on art is perfect. To make things pop in darkness is a skill and his rain sequences and the shine on all surfaces is exquisite.
