But Why Tho? - Aaron Phillips
Jan 06, 2021Overall, Im in awe at how captivating this series has gotten! If youre not reading this current Thor run, then youre truly missing out on something magnificent. The tension that marinates throughout the issue is palpable, and I cant get enough of it. Roll on issue #12. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Christopher Landers
Jan 19, 2021If you enjoyed Cates brief run on Dr. Strange (some consider it to be his best work), then this book is the one for you. He seems to be in his element when dealing with magic and all the horrible things that come with it, and he is showing no signs of running out of ideas for the God of Thunder. Jason Aarons epic run on Thor was always going to be a tough act to follow, but it seems Marvel chose his replacement well. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - Dispatchdcu
Jan 06, 2021Like Dr. Donald Blake, THOR #11 is wicked down to its core. Readers, the cliffhanger cameos were awesome and put a huge smile on this reviewer's face. Meanwhile, Cates has finally sold this critic on Blakes newfound evil features and vial characteristics. At first, it was a hard sell for this THOR fan to get behind. However, Im all in on this arc and cant wait to see whats next. Someones on a hunt. But, whos next? Youll have to read this weeks issue to find out, which I highly recommend. Additionally, if youre interested in more THOR praise, click HERE to read my BEST OF 2020 article and let me know what you think. Thanks for the read and God Bless! Read Full Review

The Super Powered Fancast - Deron Generally
Jan 06, 2021Nic Klein delivers some brilliant art throughout this issue. Taking the tone and menace of the story, Klein is about to build that tension through the art, especially through the facial expressions and movements of Donald Blake. Stunning visuals. Read Full Review

Beyond The Panel - Jideobi Odunze
Jan 06, 2021Overall, Thor #11 continues to pull me deeper into this book. These past three issues so far are everything which makes this run of Thor worthwhile. You simply aren't going to get this kind of storytelling anywhere else from Marvel right now. And yes, I will say that with King in Black still ongoing. Read Full Review

Jan 07, 2021The story woven by Cates is an interesting, albeit sometimes confusing one, but it's Klein who continues to steal the show. Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Ja-Quan Greene
Jan 07, 2021While I don't love Nic Klein's line work in this issue, it's easy to create a book that still looks great when you have the best colorist in the game, Matt Wilson, on the team. Donny Cates has been putting work in on this Thor run, and managed to turn Thor's old alter-ego into a bonafide threat that one can actually sympathize with! If that doesn't scream Asgardian magic, I don't know what does. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez
Jan 11, 2021Donny Cates and Nic Klein kick 2021 for Thor on a strong note that sets the stage for major events to take place throughout this year. Thor #11 issue does a good job building up Donald Blake as a major threat that everyone from Asgard, including Jane Foster, have to treat seriously. How exactly Donald Blake is dealt with given what he has done so far will be very interesting to see play out. Read Full Review

Man this book is just so damn good. Donald and Jane's lunch is probably the highlight of the issue for me. No, it's not full of crazy action, but there's a sense of uneasiness and tension between them that you don't see much in awesome action sequences. The quick "hallucination" where Donald stabs Jane's hand with the steak knife was really well-done, no pun intended (Although that steak looked so good. It looks like, along from from making characters and settings look really cool, Klein is also able to make good look delicious). Plus, that reveal on the final page was not where I thought this book was headed whatsoever, but I'm 100% on board with Throg being in a big arc like this, especially with Cates writing it.

This arc is still so good! Dony Cates is doing an amazing job as a writer and Nic Klein's art is really good. Also I loved to see again Jane Foster who is an amzing character!

Jane Foster completely misses the "I'm a villain now" signals that are (literally) dripping off Don Blake. Aside from that moment of stupidity, I'm starting to get into the swing of Donny's Vengeance Quest 2021. His motives are still simplistic, but he's got a plan. I liked checking in with some of the goofier aspects of Asgardian mythology, and that final scene says we're not done with them yet. Great art and workable prose sell this as a solid top-shelf read.
