It looks like the end of the world. The world is taking it personally. The Machine That Is Earth is having a very bad day.

A.X.E. DEATH TO THE MUTANTS #3 proves to be the best issue of the miniseries. The art has improved in quality along the way. The issue pays off the Machine's character development via its narration. And thanks to taking place after the Progenitor made his decision this issue avoids the event's major pitfall which was present in the previous issue: vague and seemingly contradictory judgments. The issue would be a little stronger with more time spent with the other Eternals. But overall this is a satisfying conclusion. Read Full Review

Its the last day before the end of the world, and the Eternals, mutants and Avengers are doing everything that they possibly can to save the earths and themselves. Is it enough? Read Full Review

The art is weird when there are closeups to the face on some characters. Aside from that I really liked this finale to the miniseries. The machine that is earth has been a great narrator from the start of the Eternals book and I hope it continues that way with this new "status quo".

Wow, this is a heartbreaker. It explains a previous mystery (what happened to the Machine) and sets up a fresh one (what's Nightcrawler up to?). It has some beautiful character beats for the Machine and for my favorite breakout character, Syne the Memotaur. The art's perfectly satisfactory as a storytelling tool, but better visuals are definitely the missing boost that would kick this from "great" to "perfect."

Probably Gillen's weakest contribution to this event so far, this issue is really a scattered and slightly unfocused collection of pieces being moved into place for the finale. All the plots work fine, but they sprawl all over the place with no clear connection and Villanova's art continues to be a bit subpar. In large part, this suffers from being part 3 of a 3 part miniseries; it would make far more sense as part 7 of the main series. As it is Death to the Mutants feels more like a grab bag of important plot points that there wasn't room for in the main story than a coherent miniseries of its own. Still, despite being lifelong crossover-hater, even I can't complain too loud about a crossover whose worst issue rates an 8.5

Best part of the series. Though, Earth being reset by a button? If only!

I know I will catch flack in some circles, but I wasn't as enamored with this issue as I was with previous ones! Of particular disappointment was the art, which was still a letdown when it came to the faces! Can someone, anyone please tell me why Starfox now looks like a losing contestant from 'RuPaul's Drag Race'? * I hope to re-read the whole event when it is done, as something tells me I was missing a few things in this issue. Probably didn't help that I was fostering an annoying little puppy who simply refused to listen when verbally corrected, leading me to be distracted more often than not! 'Nuff said on that!
