East of West #28

I almost didn't write a review for East of West #28 as I thought a break might make me come back to the series in a month with some new insight and enthusiasm. But as books go on, despite their consistency in quality, attention drops away from them to focus on new debut issues and rising stars in the industry, and frankly, this isn't fair. A book that can deliver as excellent an issue as East of West does this week deserves more than a little attention. Hickman and Dragotta have hit their stride and are barreling towards the final act of their story, and I remain on board for every second of it. Read Full Review

We are moving chess pieces around again, but this is still a solid issue as we (hopefully) move closer to the confration / meeting between father and son that we've literally waited years for. One wonders if Hickman is going to give us what we want or throw another curveball our way. Read Full Review

Dragotta and Martin do their best with the dialogue and exposition-heavy scenes, but no amount of striking character design (one of the hunters is flying cyborg disturbingly lacking in human features, but his uncanny qualities are undercut by Hickman's staid dialogue) or dusty, evocative colour can lift this issue above its plotting-by-numbers feeling. It's clear that East of West is heading towards a conclusion of some kind, but it looks like we might hit the real apocalypse before we reach it. Read Full Review

Another stellar issue!! Can't wait for a film adaptation. Week to week new dramas unfold that captivate readers and take them to new levels of enjoyment

Besides the dialogue of Billy in the group hunting Babylon, I really liked this issue.
