Because of the stakes set up in New Avengers, all of the plot resolution that takes place during this issue feels rather meaningless. I caught myself laughing at how insignificant Tony Stark defeating the Shi'ar with Sol's Hammer was. At least Iron Man and Captain America killed each other off so Mister Fantastic could be the hero of Secret Wars, which made me quite happy.

Some of the most uninspired writing I've seen out of Hickman, who continues to prove to me that he really doesn't want to be doing X-Men. Way to much meandering with the plot, with Magneto mostly coming of as a simp for Emma Frost. Absolutely nothing happens for over half the book until Namor finally shows up. I also wasn't impressed with the artwork, which looks traced. Please try to give a damn next time Jonathan, or go back to Fantastic Four (or just leave comics all together, nothing is making you stay).

While the Maker psychologically torturing Reed is definitely something that he would do, I unfortunately felt lost at times with how much the narrative jumped around. Additionally I'm tired of seeing the Fantastic Four being brutalized even though I'm sure
Camp didn't do it with malice. Not a terrible comic, just not one I had a lot of fun reading.

Auuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh yeeeeaaah, traced 3D models with a plot of incredibly low stakes to go with it (but Tomaki is a winner of the all-important Eisner awards so what do I know).

Complete character assassination of Northstar, while Leah Williams has everyone else act like a sociopath or do nothing (like his husband). Hickman's Dawn of X saga continues to disappoint me to no end (which is a shame because his Fantastic Four is my all-time favorite comic run).

Blah. At this point, I can't wait for Hickman to be done with this story, and I don't even care what the big reveal he's obviously building towards is anymore.
